IN THE PRESS: Jenna Dewan-Tatum Tells People’s StyleWatch She’s a “Lazy Fashionista”

As I recently posted, Jenna Dewan-Tatum attended Arcade Boutique’s Autumn Party, a charity fashion show which benefited Children’s Institute, Inc., with friend and professional stylist Belen.
People Magazine’s style arm interviewed her at the event and fans can check out what the starlet and self-proclaimed “lazy fashionista” (who’s often lauded for her fashion sense) told People Style Watch about her and hubby Channing Tatum’s sense of style, what she’s really looking forward to wearing this fall, and when we may see a little Dewan-Tatum dancing around…
The Dewan-Tatum household may be a house of style, but Step Up actress Jenna Dewan and her husband, Channing Tatum, have different approaches when it comes to fashion. Dewan considers herself “a lazy fashionista”, while Tatum, she says, possesses the inherent fashion sense that comes from being a former model. “I do follow [trends] but I’m lazy about it. I’m not the first one there buying,” Dewan told PEOPLE at ARCADE Boutique and Children’s Institute Autumn Party at The London West Hollywood Hotel on Wednesday night. “Most of the time, honestly it’s like, ‘oh I like that’ and maybe I’ll go and buy one but I’m not like, ‘oh this is the thing, I have to have this.’”
As for the dapper Tatum, appearing in ad campaigns for Abercrombie & Fitch, Dolce & Gabbana and Nautica has given him an innate sense of style. But that doesn’t mean the actor doesn’t appreciate advice from his wife: “Sometimes I’ll be like, ‘Hey babe, maybe you should choose that shirt,’ but he has really good fashion sense for himself,” Dewan said, adding, “He definitely gives me his opinion [too], but we are loving about it.”
As for fall trends, Dewan knows what she wants. “I’m obsessed with leopard and that’s really in. I’m trying to find leopard shoes that are not leather. I’m searching for the right brand because I’m an animal activist, ” said Dewan. “I’m also really into military trends. I just got a really cute military jacket and military cargo skinny pants.” So will the couple will be searching for baby clothes anytime soon? Dewan says, “In the future, not right now.”

Last night Jenna Dewan-Tatum attended PETA’s 30th Anniversary Gala and Humanitarian Awards with her gorgeous mom, Nancy. The annual event, which was hosted by “30 Rock” comedian Alec Baldwin, was held at The Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles.
After the star-studded soiree, Jenna (who kicked off her anti-exotic skins PETA campaign this past summer) tweeted…
I’ve never been so inspired and happy to be an animal lover and activist. Thank you #PETA30th for such an amazing night…The @theBeatFreaks killed it tonight! After an amazing Italian vacation/second honeymoon with husband Channing Tatum, Jenna Dewan-Tatum got back to work yesterday on one of her upcoming films. She tweeted this about her new comedy…
“Reshoots today for my movie Slightly Single in LA..funny stuff..I may or may not have chased someone with a pipe in 5 inch heels.”

On a related note, Jenna was recently interviewed by the Huffington Post. In the interview, she talks about joining PETA while still in elementary school, about how she vows to continue to advocate for fair treatment of animals, and why a recent Huffington Post article caused her to become a vegan…
“One of the best things about PETA is the attention they’ve brought to animal rights because of their radical ways. I was a vegetarian because I understood that animals were alive and had moms. Now I’m a vegan because I read a piece on Huffington Post about an owner of a dairy farm charged with cruelty to the cows….My goal is for people to live more consciously.”
During her PETA shoot, Jenna had to stand still for five hours while a body painter turned her into a snake, and then she had to balance on a log six feet in the air. She told the Huffington Post that she was “blown away” by the resulting photo and feels that it’s “striking, sexy, beautiful and powerful.” Her main thoughts during the shoot were…
“Growing up as a dancer, you’re immune from modesty…Dancers are very comfortable with their bodies, and this was for a great cause. I just wanted to make sure it was classy and sexy.”

Jenna’s PETA campaign officially launched today and she looks ABSOLUTELY AMAZING covered in snakelike body paint to call attention to the millions of snakes, lizards, alligators, crocodiles, and other reptiles who are killed for their skins—and then turned into accessories.
To further help the organization, the actress and producer has teamed up with jewelry company Energy Muse to create exclusive vegan bracelets for men and women.
Designed by Jenna and Energy Muse, the unisex “Power” bracelet represents a fight for the protection and preservation of animals skin while tapping into the energy of one’s own inner power. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of each bracelet will be donated to PETA to further its efforts to combat the exotic skins industry.
The affirmation for the bracelet is, “ As I connect with the energy of the exotic animals I embody their powerful energy”, and each stone in the bracelet possesses a different animal energy:

Sneak Peek of Jenna Dewan-Tatum’s New PETA Campaign!!!

Jenna Dewan-Tatum looks AMAZING in her new PETA campaign and asks all of us to “leave wildlife out of your wardrobe” as she bares her skin to save the skins of exotic animals. Covered in snakelike body paint, Jenna is calling attention to the millions of snakes, lizards, alligators, crocodiles, and other reptiles who are killed for their skins—and then turned into accessories.
The exotic skins campaign officially launches on July 7th, but last night PETA released a sneak peek on E!’s The Daily 10. I’ll post footage of the Jenna’s E! interview very soon.
In the meantime, you can watch an exclusive interview where Jenna tells PETA, “I couldn’t believe that that is what happens for a wallet or a purse,” and talks about why she decided to get involved with the campaign…
Thankfully, PETA says there are many fashionable and cruelty-free alternatives to using real animal skins. Fake snake, mock croc, and pleather are a few realistic and luxurious materials that can be used to achieve the same look—without stealing someone else’s skin. Popular retailers such as Victoria’s Secret, H&M, Overstock.com, Cole Haan, and Nike have all signed PETA’s pledge promising never to sell exotic skins.
In honor of the campaign, Jenna worked with Energy Muse to create a new “Power” vegan bracelet that represents respect for exotic animals while tapping into the energy of one’s own inner power.
Jenna’s bracelet incorporates nine stones that will assist you in tapping into your inner power and strengths. Leopard skin jasper for grounding, yellow tiger’s eye for movement, red tiger’s eye for motivation, yellow jasper for courage, silver leaf jasper for awareness, ryolite to keep you in the present, carnelian for strength, serpentine to assist you in transforming and turquoise to anchor you health-wise. The bracelet is strung with an all natural and durable natural cotton cord and is finished off with brass hardware and charm.
A portion of the proceeds from the sale of each bracelet will be donated to PETA to further its efforts to combat the exotic skins industry. The bracelets will start shipping on July 15th, but you can go to Energy Muse’s site to pre-order the Women’s and Men’s bracelets.
