Channing Tatum’s wife Jenna Dewan is currently busy studying her scripts and filming the nighttime drama “Melrose Place“. US fans have to wait until episodes 7 and 8 later this season to check out Jenna in her new role, but UK fans get to see Jenna in one of her latest movies even sooner.
Jenna Dewan stars in the teen comedy ‘American Virgin‘ with veteran comedian Rob Schneider and fans in the UK will be able to get the film on DVD and Blu-ray next month.
‘American Virgin‘ is about a freshman college girl named Priscilla White (played by Jenna). After involuntarily over indulging and becoming drunk for the first time in her life, she discovers her sinful shenanigans have been caught on camera by a shoddy video producer (played by Rob Schneider). With her scholarship for college coming from an abstinence group who believe in no sex before marriage, it’s a race against time and across country as she and her friends attempt to retrieve the potentially damaging footage before it’s exposed.

Hollywood Spy also recently posted an article about one of Jenna’s upcoming projects. Her 2010 live action film ‘Magdalena‘ is based on a popular Top Cow comic book. In the film, Patience (Jenna) discovers that she’s a part of the lineage of female warriors descended from Mary Magdalene who fight supernatural evil. The film also stars Luke Goss who plays Kristof, an agent sent by the secret organization that has been the guardian of the Magdalena lineage.

‘The Jerk Theory‘, Jenna Dewan’s romantic comedy with her ‘Step Up‘ co-star Josh Henderson, was released for rental on DVD in Australia this past April. As of YESTERDAY Jenna’s Aussie fans can now buy the DVD on sites like DVDOrchard.com.au and DevoteDVD.com.au.
In case you don’t know, ‘The Jerk Theory‘ is about an aspiring recording artist named Adam (Josh Henderson). When he is burned by a bad relationship experience, he decides that if women won’t respond to the “nice guy”, then he’ll be “the jerk.” He is extremely successful with meaningless relationships, but when Adam meets and falls for Molly (Jenna Dewan), who doesn’t fall for his jerk routine, Adam is forced to reconsider his dating philosophy.

Finally, I also learned that Jenna’s teen comedy with Rob Schneider, ‘American Virgin‘, will be released on DVD and Blu-ray in the UK in the next few months.

CTU recently had a large influx of vistors from the University of Michigan, and initially, I wasn’t sure why. Then, I found an article posted at The Ann Arbor Newsx that explained everything.
As CTU readers know, Channing Tatum’s fiancee Jenna Dewan is filming her comedy ‘American Virgin‘ (previously known as ‘Virgin on Bourbon Street‘) in Michigan, and from the article, we learn that the production has been filming on the Ann Arbor campus of the University of Michigan, thus the large influx of new visitors from those parts.

“The University of Michigan’s Ingalls Mall is transformed into a movie set Tuesday morning as part of the filming for the new Rob Schneider film “The Virgin on Bourbon Street.”
On a biting cold Tuesday morning, around the fountain on the Ingalls Mall on the University of Michigan’s Central Campus, a 20-person crew for the new Rob Schneider film “The Virgin on Bourbon Street” faced a somewhat unexpected task.
In addition to setting up cameras and hooking up other equipment, the bundled-up crew found themselves using brooms to clear snow from the bushes that flank an entrance to the Michigan League.
“It’s supposed to be fall, not winter,” explained producer Jason Price.
Won’t the actors’ breath be visible?
A University of Michigan sign is temporarily covered up with a Pennington College sign for the movie filming.”That’s OK,” said Price. “It’s an early, cold fall. We just don’t want the snow yet.”
Though the crew has filmed in different Detroit locations over the last few weeks, Tuesday was their first shooting day in Ann Arbor, and they’ll likely shoot locally for one or two more days.
The scene shot on the mall involves actress Jenna Dewan (”Step Up”), who’s arriving at college.
“She’s kind of a fish out of water,” said Price. “She’s from a small town in the middle of nowhere, and she arrives, and she sees the beautiful architecture of this college, the buildings - it’s a really nice campus.”
Dewan plays a good-girl student, Priscilla, who’s earned a college scholarship from an abstinence group called “Can’t Hurry Love.” When her wild-girl roommate Naz (Brianne Davis of “Prom Night”) leads her into a night of debauchery, which includes an appearance in a “Girls Gone Wild”-like video, Priscilla must track down the man behind the tawdry series (played by Schneider).
Price estimates that the film, directed by Clare Kilner (”The Wedding Date”), will be released in theaters in approximately one year, and noted that most of the film crew, and several actors, are Michigan-based…”

Channing is in the Charleston, South Carolina area filming his romantic drama ‘Dear John‘ while Jenna is braving the cold in Detroit, Michigan as she films her romantic comedy ‘Virgin on Bourbon Street‘, and both of the productions are on the hunt for paid and unpaid extras. ‘Dear John‘ tells the story of John (Channing Tatum), a young soldier home on leave and Savannah Curtis (Amanda Seyfried), the idealistic college student he meets during her spring vacation. The film will most likely be released in theaters in the Fall of 2009.
‘VIRGIN ON BOURBON STREET’ / ‘AMERICAN VIRGIN’ CASTING CALLS
Via a recent interview that director Clare Kilner had with one of the local Detroit news affiliates we learn that Jenna Dewan’s film ‘Virgin on Bourbon Street‘ has a new name for the time being.
Why the potential name change? Well, the director says that the original plan was to have Detroit’s Greektown stand in for New Orleans. The script was eventually reworked to actually take place in Detroit, so they are now using the working title ‘American Virgin‘.
The movie has been filming for a few weeks now in the Detroit area, and despite the chilly temperatures, hordes of extras came out and worked (many for free). Some received prizes for their time, including electronics donated locally by ABC Warehouse, which line producer Marvin Towns Jr. says will get product placement in the finished film.
The film has released two more casting calls for even more paid and unpaid extras next week. Read below for more details:

They are wanting to cast women who are 18 - 22 years old and who can commit to film the entire day of Wednesday, November 12th for $7.40 per hour. Overtime will be paid after 8 hours and report times will be available the day before filming.

‘American Virgin‘ will be shooting for another few weeks entirely on location in Greek Town, Indian Village, other downtown Detroit locations and at Orchard Lake St Mary’s Preparatory School in Orchard Lake Michigan.
The film, which Variety says was recently sold at the American Film Market by Echo Bridge Entertainment, is described by director as “a female ‘Superbad’”.
Comedian Rob Schneider plays Curtzman, the entrepreneur behind a “Girls Gone Wild”-type franchise called “Chicks Go Crazy.” Jenna Dewan plays Priscilla, the virgin in the film’s title, who after a fun night out with friends finds herself on one of Curtzman’s tapes and then teams with Naz, her wild-child roommate played by Brianne Davis, to track down the tape.
Like Channing Tatum’s ‘Dear John‘, Jenna Dewan’s ‘American Virgin‘ (or whatever name they land on) should hit theaters some time in the Fall of 2009.

NEW PHOTOS OF JENNA DEWAN AT VANITY FAIR PORTRAITS EVENT
If you’ve ever met Channing Tatum’s fiancee Jenna Dewan, then you know (in addition to being gorgeous) she’s extremely down-to-earth like Chan. She’s so down-to-earth that I often lose sight of the fact that she’s a celebrity…UNTIL I see her at events that is.
Jenna looked even more stunning than ever in an adorable Burberry dress at last night’s star-studded Vanity Fair event. The magazine, in conjunction with the store Burberry, held a preview party to celebrate the opening of the “Vanity Fair Portraits: Photographs 1913-2008″ exhibit at The Los Angeles County Museum of Art in Los Angeles, California.
Admittedly, I’m a little jealous. I may just have to steal her dress, bracelet, shoes, and legs while I’m at it the next time I see her. Fans can check out a ton of new photos of Jenna Dewan and the cutest little black dress ever at the event below:

CELEB INSIDER: Dewan’s Heart Goes Out to Girls
At age 27, Jenna Dewan seems to have the world by the tail. Reportedly engaged (though she won’t confirm) to hunky “Step Up” leading man Channing Tatum, she has a hot career with several movies on the way, including the Tim Allen comedy, “The Six Wives of Henry Lefay” — making her transition from high school roles into young womanhood gracefully.She tells us she likes making films in which she can play strong women who impart good inspiration to young girls. Her forthcoming “Virgin on Bourbon Street” film, she says, has “a girl character that has a message.” So did her recent “Fab Five: The Texas Cheerleader Scandal” cable movie, in which she played the coach who fights her team’s out-of-control bad behavior.
Her heart goes out to teen girls.
Making “Fab Five,” she says she realized things have gotten tougher out there even than when she was in high school not that many years ago.
“Kids are being given so much freedom and with that is freedom to find drugs, sex and alcohol, sooner and sooner,” notes the actress. “I have cousins who are 13 and I think, ‘Oh! I can’t watch this.’”
Part of the problem? “My take on it is, girls don’t really have a lot of good role models today. They’re looking up to starlets who are making mistakes themselves. I’m not blaming these celebrities,” she makes clear. “I’m just saying that young people are seeing all this happening and thinking it’s the norm, which is understandable.”

I have read that the romantic comedy will be shot entirely on location in Greektown, Indian Village, various other downtown Detroit locations, and Orchard Lake St. Mary’s Preparatory School. They have also announced that they need extras for the week of October 27th.

NEW TRAILER RELEASED FOR ‘ASSORTED NIGHTMARES: JANITOR’
A few months ago I told you all about Xbox 360’s upcoming series of eight short films where horror directors are going to create comedies.
Jenna Dewan is starring in the first film that will be released, and its called ‘Janitor’. From what I understand and can clearly see in the trailer below, this particular film is heavy on the horror and light on the comedy with a horror twist, unlike the other director’s shorts, which I’m sure will make die-hard horror buffs even more happy.
Here’s what the film short is about…
“When Jennifer (Jenna Dewan) escapes detention, she encounters the school Janitor, and quickly finds herself in the midst of his killing spree.”
Just in time for Halloween, ‘Janitor’ debuts Friday, October 31, 2008 on the Xbox Live! Marketplace, but in the meantime you can check out the scary and bloody teaser for it below…don’t say I didn’t warn you.

FAN ENCOUNTER: Chan and Jenna with Fans in Charleston, South Carolina

Today’s Fab Fan Encounter was submitted by Fabulous Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Fan Olivia A.. It’s an awesome new photo of Channing and his fiancee Jenna Dewan with fans Keeler R., Olivia A., and Hollis R. at an Urban Outfitters in Charleston, South Carolina today. Olivia says that “Chan and Jenna were so nice, offering to pose for pictures and chat” with them.
During their chat, Chan confirmed that he will be in town through December filming ‘Dear John‘ (which officially begins filming tomorrow), so I’m sure fans will have many more encounters during his stay in Charleston. Fans can click here to get the latest news on Channing from the set of his films. Jenna also confirmed that she is filming her Rob Schneider comedy ‘Virgin on Bourbon Street‘ in Michigan.
