Channing Tatum has had the amazing opportunity to work with Oscar-winning director Steven Soderbergh three times over the past couple of years…his action film ‘Haywire‘ was just released on DVD and and Blu-ray last week, and he just finished filming a thriller called ‘The Bitter Pill‘ (which is scheduled to release on February 8, 2013) with Rooney Mara and Jude Law in New York last month. Last, but not least, Chan’s highly-anticipated dramatic comedy ‘Magic Mike‘ will hit theaters on June 29, 2012 and fans will get a chance to see it even sooner at the Los Angeles Film Festival!!

‘Magic Mike‘, which the Playlist says “is a big crowd-pleaser — for the ladies and dudes”, will have its world premiere as the closing-night film at the Los Angeles Film Festival on June 24th. Individual tickets will go on sale on May 29th, but you can CLICK HERE to buy a pass to the festival.

For those who don’t know, ’Magic Mike‘ stars Chan, Alex Pettyfer, Matthew McConaughey, Cody Horn, Olivia Munn, Matt Bomer, Riley Keough, Joe Manganiello, Kevin Nash, Adam Rodriguez, and Gabriel Iglesias and is a story of friendship set in the world of exotic male dancing. The film is inspired by (but not based on) Chan’s experiences at a Chippendales-style revue early in his career. Chan plays the main character (Mike), who mentors a young dancer (The Kid) played by Alex Pettyfer and teaches him the fine arts of partying, picking up women, and making easy money.

‘Magic Mike‘ is executive produced by Chan, his producing partner Reid Carolin (who also wrote the screenplay) via their production company, Iron Horse Productions, Nick Wechsler and Gregory Jacobs, and is helmed by director Steven Soderbergh.

Some time later, US Weekly reports that the couple arrived at Southern Hospitality in Hell’s Kitchen and here’s how it all went down…

After walking into the back room, 20 dancers and friends launched into a Dirty Dancing-themed flash mob. “Is this really happening?” a stunned Tatum asked. For the final sequence, the Magic Mike actor grabbed Dewan, 31, and hopped on the makeshift dance floor to mimic Patrick Swayze’s infamous dance move, “lifting his petite wife right over his head,” the source says.

“Jenna was planning things for weeks,” a source close to the couple tells Us. “She knows exactly what he likes — he doesn’t want a big blowout party. A casual bar crawl and an all-night dance party with good friends is exactly what he would’ve wanted. She clearly knows him best.”

You may be wondering if this photo is from Halloween or maybe a special play at school? Nope! Just another average day in the Tatum household with the rambunctious and destined-to-be-an-A-List-actor Chan rehearsing for his future as the action hero/romantic lead/comedic talent that we all know and love today. His mom says…

He was 4 yrs old. I don’t think this was Halloween or anything. He had lots of outfits for play, for instance, soldiers, police, karate, cowboy, etc. He was always ‘the actor’
