CHANNING TATUM VIDEOS OF THE WEEK: 2008 Teen Choice Awards & Jenna Dewan E! Interview

Today’s Videos of the Week were submitted by Fabulous Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Fans Naz from London and Tina from the Phillippines.

Naz has submitted the first video which features Channing Tatum’s interview in the press room after he won the Choice Dramatic Actor Award for his role in ‘Stop-Loss‘ at this year’s 2008 Teen Choice Awards. In the video, Chan talks about surfing, dancing and the biggest challenge for kids today. Enjoy!

Tina taped and submitted the next video which shows a recent interview that Chan’s girlfriend Jenna Dewan did for E! Television when she was promoting her highly successful Lifetime Television movie ‘Fab Five: The Texas Cheerleader Scandal‘. Channing Tatum Videos of the Week: What the Buck Wages Dance War Against Channing Tatum’s M&M Cru

I owe everyone a big apology for not finding today’s Videos of the Week sooner, because they are truly hilarious.

The two videos are a part of the ongoing dance battle between Jon M. Chu and Adam Sevani’s ACDC and Miley and Mandy’s M&M Cru (which includes Channing Tatum and his girlfriend Jenna Dewan).

From what I can tell, the popular YouTube comedian and entertainment “reporter” from What the Buck (who, bless his heart, somehow keeps confusing Channing Tatum with Tatum O’Neal) throws his hat into the proverbial dance ring after the M&M Cru released their teaser video in round 2 of the dance battle.

CHANNING TATUM VIDEOS OF THE WEEK: Channing in Ricky Martin’s ‘She Bangs’ Video

Today’s Video of the Week is a continuation of the Blast from the Past post I did earlier this week.

The photo to the left was sent in by a very special fan and is a never before seen, behind-the-scenes pic of Channing Tatum on the set of his very first official acting gig, the Ricky Martin music video shoot for the song “She Bangs” in 2000.

Here’s what the fan has to say about the exclusive photo that inspired today’s post:

“In keeping with the “blast from the past” … attached is a picture I found recently. It was taken as the makeup artist was painting the (tattoo-like) design on Chan’s face for the Ricky Martin “She Bangs” video, during the summer of 2000, I think. It’s hard to believe it’s been that long ago. Hope everyone enjoys it.”

Chan has definitely come a long way since those video days just a few years ago. Fans can see him and his freshly painted tattoo in the video below. His part goes by quickly, but if you pay close attention, you’ll find him around the 2:59 mark in the video.

Today’s Video of the Week is another dance battle teaser video that Miley Cyrus and Mandy Jiroux just released on their extremely popular Miley and Mandy Show Youtube Channel.

It serves as both a reminder to everyone about their upcoming round 2 video release on June 10th at 7pm Pacific, and they made a special effort to call out ACDC, Jon M. Chu, Adam Sevani, the popular YouTube comedian and entertainment “reporter” from What the Buck (who seems to have somehow joined the battle), and even Mike Meyers and Chris Brown for the hilarious MTV Movie Awards dance battle spoof from this past Sunday.

We have a behind-the-scenes special done for ‘Stop-Loss‘ by Cinema Judge, two interviews, and a new exclusive movie clip I found showing Channing Tatum and Ryan Phillippe’s characters as they return home from combat to a hero’s welcome. ‘Stop-Loss’ is Brilliantly Observed and Vividly Shot

“Stop-Loss is one of the best of the many Iraq War/War on Terror dramas because it is the most personal. Brilliantly observed and vividly shot, built on a career-making performance by Ryan Phillippe, its an Iraq War movie for Americans whove been avoiding Iraq movies, even the good ones such as In the Valley of Elah.

Like that film, this one is mainly about disconnection and disillusionment on the home front. Co-writer and director Kimberly Peirce brings her Boys Dont Cry grasp of violence and rural American machismo to a story of young Army Rangers from Texas. Theyve done their duty and come home to find that their government has “stop-lossed” them, re-enlisted them against their will for another tour of duty in what amounts to a de facto draft….

….If Vietnam was “the television war” then Iraq is “the camcorder war,” and Peirce makes just enough use of home movies to give the film an authentic texture. Her firefight rivals anything in Blackhawk Down or The Kingdom.

Peirce is at her best in creating a rural Texas reality of boys raised around patriotism, fighting and guns. Every character introduced in the early combat scenes has his moment to make a point…

Many Americans have been as reluctant to re-examine this conflict as the young men in uniform here are, and Stop-Loss isnt going to change their minds. What this film does best is change the nature of the argument, from assigning blame and repeating old positions to taking a look at an injustice slapped on those who eagerly did their part. The unspoken question lingering as the credits roll is blunt: What business do we have asking more of them when we wont match their sacrifice?”

Today’s Video of the Week is a new video that ‘Step Up 2: The Streets‘ posted on MySpace. As I had previously posted on the blog, MySpace audiences got to see a special black curtain, exclusive screening of Channing Tatum’s ‘Step Up 2: The Streets‘ in Miami the week before the movie’s February 14, 2008 release.

Before the movie, #1 soundtrack artist Flo Rida appeared in person and treated the audience to a live concert. Missy Elliott also came by to introduce her new music video for “Chin-A-Ling” and “Shake Your Pom Pom”, the first ever shot in 3D.

‘Step Up 2: The Streets‘ is now officially considered a smash hit, since the film cost a little over $20 million to create and made almost $30 million in the first weekend of it’s release. The movie continues to remain in the top 5 films as I type this post.

Because both ‘Step Up‘ and ‘Step Up 2: The Streets‘ have done so well, we happily learned yesterday that Disney has officially decided to create ‘Step Up 3-D’. After Estonia and Poland, ‘Step Up 2: The Streets‘ will premiere next in Germany on March 6, 2008.

Today’s Video of the Week is a new video that ‘Step Up 2: The Streets‘ star Robert Hoffman has posted on his YouTube channel to help promote the release of the movie.

If you’ve seen SU2, then you will understand how the dance prank in the video below relates to the film. Even if you haven’t seen the movie, the video is still funny, because Robert and his crew of dancers surprise an unsuspecting convenience store clerk with a “dance performance”. ‘Step Up 2: The Streets‘ hit US, Canadian, and Czech Republic theaters on February 14, 2008 and I’m happy to say has had the same strong release that Channing Tatum’s movie ‘Step Up‘ did in 2006. Because both films have had such a strong release, industry insiders are saying that we should look for the studio to continue to develop the Step Up brand just like Universal did with its Bring It On series of films. ‘Step Up 2: The Streets‘ will premiere next in the Netherlands on February 21, 2008.
