UNWRAPPED PHOTOS: Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan-Tatum Take on the Golden Globes

A Prada-clad Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan-Tatum (in a beautiful green Maria Lucia Hohan gown, one of a kind Boulder opal and diamond earrings from Irene Neuwirth, and Judith Leiber clutch) attended the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards and the 13th annual Warner Bros. and InStyle Golden Globe after party at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California and CAA’s after party at the Sunset Tower Hotel.
Chan and Jenna (who rubbed elbows with the A-list who’s who on the red carpet and sat at a table with Jessica Biel and Jimmy Fallon) and were beyond flawless and utterly adorable. Fans can also get a 360 view in E!’s 360 Glam Cam and here’s a few pics…

During the awards show, Chan and Jessica Alba presented the animated feature film award to ‘The Adventures of Tintin‘ director Steven Spielberg, a film which stars Jamie Bell (Chan’s friend and co-star in ‘The Eagle‘).

New Photos of Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer, Matt Bomer and Adam Rodriguez in ‘MAGIC MIKE’

On Christmas day, the world got it’s first official glimpse of Channing Tatum’s Steven Soderbergh-directed film ‘Magic Mike‘ in a photo featuring Chan, Alex Pettyfer, Joe Manganiello, Matthew McConaughey, and Kevin Nash on the Xquisite stage performing their Fourth of July dance.
Now we have two new photos courtesy of the January 20th issue of Entertainment Weekly and new details via interviews from Chan and his castmate Matt Bomer.
For those who don’t know, ‘Magic Mike‘ is a story of friendship set in the world of exotic male dancing and is inspired by (but not based on) Chan’s experiences at a Chippendales-style revue early in his career. Chan plays the main character (Mike), who mentors a young dancer (The Kid) played by Alex Pettyfer and teaches him the fine arts of partying, picking up women, and making easy money.
In a recent interview with Collider.com, Matt Bomer revealed more of the plot…
“It’s actually a really intricate plot. It’s very of a Saturday Night Fever/Boogie Nightsilk. It’s a coming of age story. The central relationship in the film is Channing [Tatum] and Alex Pettyfer’s relationship. They play Mike and this character called The Kid. It’s a mentorship type of thing. One person is unhappy with where he is and knows that there’s a real ceiling to that lifestyle and that life, and one person is just getting into the whole glorious aspect of what it means to be a stripper.”
Collider and PopSugar also interviewed Chan during last week’s ‘Haywire‘ press junket. Here’s what he had to say about the tone of the film…
“All the stuff that actually happens in the movie is entirely fictitious and made up because we wanted to take liberties and we wanted to make it good…It’s a fun movie; we wrote it to be fun. We actually wrote it very comedically and in knowing Soderbergh’s style, he doesn’t punch in for close-ups and he doesn’t shoot in a very classic comedic way, so I think, overall, it will make it fun. The stuff that is happening is kind of outlandish, the characters at times will be bizarre.”

In addition to Chan, Alex, Joe, Kevin, Matt, and Matthew (who plays Dallas, a retired dancer and the owner of the club), the movie also stars Olivia Munn (Magic Mike’s love interest), Adam Rodriguez, Gabriel Iglesias (the club’s DJ), Riley Keough, Cody Horn (Magic Mike’s sister), Wendi McLendon-Covey, ‘Bridesmaids’ actress Betsy Brandt and ‘The Change-Up’ actress Mircea Monroe as the girlfriend of Matt Bomer’s character.
‘Magic Mike‘ may be one of the most important projects in Chan’s career thus far. In addition to starring in the highly-anticipated movie, he also financed the film with Oscar-winning director Steven Soderbergh and is executive producing with his producing partner Reid Carolin (who also wrote the screenplay) via their production company, Iron Horse Productions, Nick Wechsler and Gregory Jacobs.
Not that I really need to convince anyone around here, BUT make sure you show your support when ‘Magic Mike‘ hits cinemas June 29, 2012!!!

MOVIE NEWS: New Poster, Music, Interview and Trailer from Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill’s ‘21 Jump Street’

Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill’s action-comedy ‘21 Jump Street‘ just released the first poster for the film! The new one sheet features characters Schmidt (Jonah Hill) and Jenko (Channing Tatum)…two guys who join the police force’s secret Jump Street unit and use their youthful appearances to go undercover in a local high school.
The eager rookies trade in their guns and badges for backpacks and risk their lives to investigate a violent and dangerous drug ring while having to deal with all of the teenage issues they thought they left back in high school just a few years earlier.
Every time a new trailer comes out, fans often ask “What’s that song playing?”. Thanks to the December 16, 2011 issue of Entertainment Weekly, we now know…
“Two rookie-cop doofballs (Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill) step into Johnny Depp’s undercover “Who, me? I’m just a 29-year-old high school junior with a handgun” shoes for this big-screen revamp. Soundtracking their triumphant return to fake teendon: Canadian electro duo MSTRKRFT’s wall vibrating banger ‘Bounce.’”
Fans can find “BOUNCE” on MSTRKRFT’s 2009 album Fist of God, and you can learn even more about Schmidt and Jenko in a new on set interview with MTV’s Josh Horowitz. Jonah and Chan talk about how their misfit cop characters “complete one another” in the comedy…

‘THE VOW’s Director Says Channing Tatum is “Fully Committed to Doing Whatever It Takes”

Michael Sucsy, the director of Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams’ highly anticipated romantic drama ‘The Vow‘, tells E News…
“[Channing Tatum’s] great. He’s fully committed to doing whatever it takes. And if that means taking his pants off, well then…There was one time I got called to his trailer…I had never been called to his trailer so I was like, ‘What’s going on?’ Tatum says, ‘I just heard from wardrobe that I’m shirtless in this scene—isn’t that kind of gratuitous?’ And I said, ‘Yes.’…Ya gotta keep the fans happy.”
The film features a newlywed couple, Leo (Chan) and Paige (Rachel), that recovers from a car accident that puts the wife in a coma. Waking up with severe memory loss, her husband works hard to win her heart again.

NEWS FLASH: Get the New UK Poster and Premiere Tickets for Channing Tatum’s ‘Haywire’

Channing Tatum’s action film ‘Haywire‘ will hit US and UK theaters on January 20, 2012. The studio recently released a new trailer, and today, fans get to check out Chan on the film’s new UK poster via Empire Magazine…
‘Haywire‘ is a dynamic action-thriller directed by Oscar® winner Steven Soderbergh (Traffic) boasts a talented cast that includes Chan, Ewan McGregor (The Ghost Writer), Michael Fassbender (X-Men: First Class), Antonio Banderas (The Legend of Zoro), Bill Paxton (“Big Love”), Michael Douglas (Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps), Michael Angarano (Almost Famous); and introduces mixed martial arts (MMA) superstar Gina Carano as Mallory Kane, in a demanding lead role that has her performing her own high-adrenaline stunts.
Mallory Kane is a highly trained operative who works for a government security contractor in the dirtiest, most dangerous corners of the world. After successfully freeing a Chinese journalist held hostage, she is double crossed and left for dead by someone close to her in her own agency. Suddenly the target of skilled assassins who know her every move, Mallory must find the truth in order to stay alive.
Using her black-ops military training, she devises an ingenious—and dangerous—trap. But when things go haywire, Mallory realizes she’ll be killed in the blink of an eye unless she finds a way to turn the tables on her ruthless adversary.
Chan filmed his role in Barcelona, Spain and New Mexico in February and March of 2010 and will play Aaron, one of the elite specialists on Carano’s team. His character is a military gearhead-type who’s sent to try and bring her back in once she’s been double-crossed.
‘Haywire‘ was chosen as the coveted surprise screening at this year’s AFI Film Festival. After attending the screening, Hollywood Reporter critic Todd McCarthy reported that he found the film to be “engaging” and said Gina Carano “kicks considerable ass,” and Variety said the action heavy movie is “breathtaking” and Carano is “coolly charismatic”.
Soderbergh mentioned in an interview that when Chan first saw the film, he commented…
“God, it’s so much fun to watch [Gina] beat her way through the cast.”
