Help Our Soldiers By Winning Channing Tatum, Jenna Dewan-Tatum & Tons More in TwitChange’s Celeb Auction

January 29, 2011

Channing Tatum (@channingtatum) and wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum (@jennaldewan) are once again participating in TwitChange and their latest charity auction just kicked off TODAY. For those who don’t know, TwitChange is a global celebrity auction where Twitter users can bid to get followed, retweeted, and/or mentioned by their favorite celebrity on Twitter.

100% of the donations generated by the auctions will go to provide emergency aid and support to soldiers and their families through the charity Operation Once in a Lifetime. Their mission is to make the dreams of U.S. Soldiers and their families come true by providing free financial and morale support to U.S Service members, their families and veterans regardless of rank, deployment, physical condition or branch or service.

There’s a ton more auctions for Chan and Jenna’s fans this time, because they are both listed four times in four separate auctions each. Fans all around the world can bid on their eight auctions that include a tweet, a follow, a retweet, and a mega package that includes all three (a tweet, follow, and retweet) AND a signed photo from Chan or Jenna. I will also feature all of the auction winners here on CTU in a special charity Fab Fan Spotlight.

Chan and Jenna’s TwitChange auction pages will be available on Ebay through February 5, 2011, and fans can click on the images below to bid on Chan and Jenna’s auctions on Ebay

Operation Once in a Lifetime was created by a soldier to help other soldiers; a soldier knows what a soldier needs and a soldier knows what a soldier does not need. A soldier does not need to worry about providing beds for their kids, worrying if their electricity will still be on when he goes home or if their house will be foreclosed on when serving his/her country.

A soldier needs a program that will provide free financial assistance regardless of their rank, race, religion, orientation, branch of service, physical condition or deployment status. A soldier needs a program that can help make a life altering contribution when they are in their greatest need; Operation Once in a Lifetime is that program. CLICK HERE to learn more about the amazing organization.

It’s a great cause, and you get a cool perk in return. More importantly, your winning bid will make a HUGE difference in a deserving soldier’s life. I hope you head on over to Ebay and start bidding!

P.S. If you don’t win Chan and Jenna’s TwitChange auctions, please consider making a direct donation to Operation Once in a Lifetime, because that’s really what all of this is about anyway. Thanks! :-D

IN THE PRESS: US Weekly Honors Jenna Dewan-Tatum at Their Stars Who Care Event

November 20, 2010

First and foremost, I want to say CONGRATS to Jenna Dewan-Tatum!!! She’s been nominated for a 5th Annual Libby Award for BEST PETA AD!! Let’s all help her win by quickly voting for her at Peta2.com.

I know first hand how important giving back is to Jenna, and I would love to see her get the recognition she deserves. US Weekly seems to feel the same way, because they decided to salute the talented actress, producer, and all around do-gooder for her recent work with PETA.

On Thursday night, Jenna joined the who’s who in Tinseltown at US Weekly’s Hot Hollywood “Stars Who Care” Event at LA’s The Colony. Jenna was recognized along side other celebs who have donated their time, knowledge and influence to worthy causes.

Here’s some really cute photo booth pics of Jenna from the event with professional stylist and friend Belen wearing a Parker jacket, Sass and Bide top, Bebe faux leather pants, YSL Tribute pumps, and Gemma Redux Jewelry…

For the stars below, giving back is the best part of their job. Here’s the complete list of honorees from the Hot Hollywood “Stars Who Care” Event:

In addition to being honored at the event, Jenna’s story about her PETA campaign is also featured in US Weekly’s November 29th issue. You can check out a snippet from the article below and can pick up a copy on newsstands NOW!

And here’s a few more pics of Jenna leaving the Hot Hollywood “Stars Who Care” Event and a video of her signing autographs for fans upon arrival…

For those who don’t know, Jenna was covered almost head to toe in snakelike body paint for her PETA campaign that kicked off this past summer. Her goal was to call attention to the millions of snakes, lizards, alligators, crocodiles, and other reptiles who are killed for their skins—and then turned into accessories.

To further help the organization, Jenna also teamed up with jewelry company Energy Muse to design a unisex vegan “Power” bracelet for both men and women. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of each bracelet is donated to PETA to further its efforts to combat the exotic skins industry.

Again, I want to say CONGRATS to Jenna!!! Keep up the great work!

Help Post The Love Turn Up the Volume on Love Is Louder!!!

October 19, 2010

Post-the-love-love-is-louder

In light of recent teen suicides linked to bullying MTV has partnered with actress Brittany Snow and the Jed Foundation, with support from DoSomething.org, the Trevor Project, Reach Out, Active Minds and the Ad Council, to help spread messages of love and hope to teens who feel they might have run out of options.

Jenna Dewan-Tatum recently joined the Love Is Louder campaign by sharing her struggle with bullying in the video below…

People everywhere have committed to turning up the volume on Tuesday 10/19/10 to let anyone who feels mistreated, misunderstood or alone know that #loveislouder than the voices that cause us pain.

Individuals, schools, organizations and groups of friends will be taking pics and videos, raising awareness and making some noise, and Chan and Jenna’s site PostTheLove.com wants to join this wonderful cause too, so here’s how we can all easily get involved:

  • Post your #loveislouder messages, links, photos, video, audio on PostTheLove.com or tweet them to our official Twitter @postthelove with the hashtag #loveislouder.
  • Write #loveislouder on your hand and spread the word all day long.
  • Brittany Snow will be hosting a party for her friends in L.A. Get your friends together for your own #loveislouder party. Take pictures and videos. Get creative. Or do it on your own and then upload your pics to their FB page or your videos to your.mtv.com. Here’s a sample of a video made in New Orleans. And here is montage of some of the photos that have been uploaded so far. If you upload your videos or pics somewhere else, email LoveIsLouder a link at loveislouder@gmail.com.
  • Make #loveislouder signs and hang them around your campus or community.
  • Tweet out #loveislouder messages throughout the day. “I believe #loveislouder than hate www.loveislouder.com” or “I’ve felt isolated and hopeless, but #loveislouder than the pain. www.loveislouder.com” Customize your tweet and make the message your own.
  • If you live in one of the cities with LOVE sculptures (CLICK HERE for a list), show up at the statue at 6 p.m. EST (3 p.m. PST) to take group photos and chant “Love is Louder.”

If you need a little more inspiration, here’s a great pic from PTL’er Raquel

Get to Know Chan and Jenna’s TwitChange Winners!!

October 12, 2010

Channing Tatum (@channingtatum) and wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum (@jennaldewan) recently participated in TwitChange, the first ever global celebrity charity auction where Twitter users were able to bid to get followed, retweeted, and/or mentioned by their favorite celebrities on Twitter.

100% of the donations generated by the auction have been donated to aHomeInHaiti.org so they can finish rebuilding the Miriam Center, which houses, educates, and provides love for Haitian children with cerebral palsy, severe autism, and other major life challenges. It’s one of the only facilities of its kind in the earthquake-ravished country, and its current facility, which is extremely overcrowded, now houses children from the earthquake.

Through the generosity of auction bidders and direct donations to A Home in Haiti, TwitChange raised well over $600,000 in 10 days via its unique auction, so I wanted to spotlight Chan and Jenna’s winners here on CTU.

It’s my pleasure to introduce you to Brooke Ives and DaisyCares founder Ami Gordon. Learn why they decided to get involved in this really incredible cause by bidding on Chan and Jenna…

There are so many charities to choose from these days, sometimes it is hard to decide who to donate your money to. When @twitchange came up with a charity auction to raise money for the children in Haiti, I knew that I wanted to help.

I chose @channingtatum for several reasons. 1) My children think that he rocks. In G.I. Joe, “Duke” is awesome! I thought it would be neat for them to get a shout out from him. 2) I, personally, think Channing Tatum was awesome in Fighting and G.I. Joe and anything else that he pursues. Yes, he was great in Dear John also, but I am more of the action type of girl! I think Channing Tatum is an awesome actor and producer. 3) I have the utmost respect for Channing Tatum, and I thought it would be pretty dang cool if he was actually a “friend” on twitter. All of this AND I was able to donate to a great charity. I know there were many fans who bid on his auction, and I feel blessed to have won! He has so many fans, and it’s amazing to see how supportive all of his fans are of him and his career!

Thanks,
Brooke Ives
@Brooke_Ives

DaisyCares is so honored to be the winner of Jenna Dewan’s bid package at TwitChange! We bid on Jenna because of her extraordinary compassion and love for animals and life. She exemplifies a role model to our organization and to me on a personal level, and we couldn’t think of a better way to show our support for both Haiti and Jenna!

Daisy, my beloved 6-year old yorkie, is the inspiration behind DaisyCares. She is a terminally ill dog that has been given a second chance at life, and we’ve dedicated ourselves to “paying it forward” by saving pets’ lives.

DaisyCares was created to address the alarming increase in the number of euthanized, surrendered and abandoned pets. We wanted to step in and attack this problem by providing pet food and grants for veterinary care to needy families so that they could keep their pets during difficult economic times. We’ve only been in operation since April of this year, and have already provided pet food to over 2,000 families, and financial aid for veterinary care assistance to over 100 families. Unfortunately, this is only a small fraction of the population that needs our help. If we’re able to win the $50,000 Pepsi Refresh Grant, we’ll be able to save even more pets’ lives, and keep pets at home with their families.

We’ve been so overwhelmed with the kindness and generosity of both Jenna and CTU, and are so inspired by all that they do to Post the Love!

There’s strength in numbers and we would love it if you all follow DaisyCares on Twitter and Facebook. You can also learn more about their Pepsi Refresh Project campaign, which Jenna’s been tweeting about, in their video below…

With a mission of providing veterinary care for animals who would otherwise die, they are overwhelmed at the opportunity this grant would provide – imagine the amount of pets who would be saved simply because you took the time to vote for them!

Below you’ll find three methods for voting, and you can vote for DaisyCares three times a day (once by each method listed):
