CTU EXCLUSIVE PIC OF THE WEEK: Chan and Jenna’s Charity Photo Shoot for The Beauty Book

On Thursday, Jenna Dewan-Tatum and hubby Channing Tatum (along with Ryan Phillippe and Rachel Bilson) participated in a charity photo shoot with celebrity photographer Darren Tieste for a project called “The Beauty Book“. During and after the shoot, Jenna tweeted…

“At a photo shoot for a brain cancer charity book…with the hottie-oops I mean hubby…Go to www.thebeautybook.org and check out the brain cancer charity book!”

Brain Cancer is the leading cause in cancer-related death’s in patients younger than 35. 17,000 Americans, 2000 Australians and 280,000 worldwide are diagnosed with brain tumors every year.

“The Beauty Book” is a hard cover coffee table book that will be released later this year with images of your favorite celebrities, musicians, and top models. The goal of the book is to raise awareness and money to help support people fighting the awful disease.

Tieste is executive producing, and became personally involved with the project when he lost a close friend to brain cancer in 2008. All the monies raised, will go directly to Brain Cancer research via the Sydney Neurology Oncology Group (SNOG) and the American Brain Tumor Association (ABTA) charities. Both of the charitable organizations are non-profit and rely on donations and fundraising. “The Beauty Book” has the support of some of the biggest identities in the world who have all been photographed for this cause. In addition to Chan and Jenna, you will find celebs like Hugh Jackman, Fergie, Anna Paquin, Will.i.am, Emily Blunt, Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Ryan Seacrest, Rosario Dawson, Leighton Meester, Selma Blair, Christina Hendricks, Ashley Greene, Josh Duhamel, Justin Chambers, Chelsea Handler, Eric Dane, Kate Walsh, Kim Kardashian, Michelle Rodriguez, Dominic Monaghan, Minnie Driver, Rachel Hunter, Paris Hilton, Carmen Electra, Denise Richards, Brooklyn Decker, Maggie Grace, Marlon Wayans, Eliza Dushku, and Sophie Monk in the book.

Darren told me they are still solidifying an exact release date, but he hopes the book will launch some time in mid 2011.

On a related note, Jenna was recently interviewed by the Huffington Post. In the interview, she talks about joining PETA while still in elementary school, about how she vows to continue to advocate for fair treatment of animals, and why a recent Huffington Post article caused her to become a vegan…

“One of the best things about PETA is the attention they’ve brought to animal rights because of their radical ways. I was a vegetarian because I understood that animals were alive and had moms. Now I’m a vegan because I read a piece on Huffington Post about an owner of a dairy farm charged with cruelty to the cows….My goal is for people to live more consciously.”

During her PETA shoot, Jenna had to stand still for five hours while a body painter turned her into a snake, and then she had to balance on a log six feet in the air. She told the Huffington Post that she was “blown away” by the resulting photo and feels that it’s “striking, sexy, beautiful and powerful.” Her main thoughts during the shoot were…

“Growing up as a dancer, you’re immune from modesty…Dancers are very comfortable with their bodies, and this was for a great cause. I just wanted to make sure it was classy and sexy.”

To further help the organization, the actress and producer has teamed up with jewelry company Energy Muse to create exclusive vegan bracelets for men and women.

Designed by Jenna and Energy Muse, the unisex “Power” bracelet represents a fight for the protection and preservation of animals skin while tapping into the energy of one’s own inner power. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of each bracelet will be donated to PETA to further its efforts to combat the exotic skins industry.

The affirmation for the bracelet is, “ As I connect with the energy of the exotic animals I embody their powerful energy”, and each stone in the bracelet possesses a different animal energy:

On the back of the “Power” bracelet’s packaging, there’s also a quote from Jenna that says…

“ I believe it is important as human beings to be compassionate and respectful towards all of our earthlings. We are all connected. The abuse of exotic animals is inhumane and unnecessary. Sneak Peek of Jenna Dewan-Tatum’s New PETA Campaign!!!

Jenna Dewan-Tatum looks AMAZING in her new PETA campaign and asks all of us to “leave wildlife out of your wardrobe” as she bares her skin to save the skins of exotic animals. Covered in snakelike body paint, Jenna is calling attention to the millions of snakes, lizards, alligators, crocodiles, and other reptiles who are killed for their skins—and then turned into accessories.

The exotic skins campaign officially launches on July 7th, but last night PETA released a sneak peek on E!’s The Daily 10. I’ll post footage of the Jenna’s E! interview very soon.

In the meantime, you can watch an exclusive interview where Jenna tells PETA, “I couldn’t believe that that is what happens for a wallet or a purse,” and talks about why she decided to get involved with the campaign…

Thankfully, PETA says there are many fashionable and cruelty-free alternatives to using real animal skins. Fake snake, mock croc, and pleather are a few realistic and luxurious materials that can be used to achieve the same look—without stealing someone else’s skin. Popular retailers such as Victoria’s Secret, H&M, Overstock.com, Cole Haan, and Nike have all signed PETA’s pledge promising never to sell exotic skins.

In honor of the campaign, Jenna worked with Energy Muse to create a new “Power” vegan bracelet that represents respect for exotic animals while tapping into the energy of one’s own inner power.

Jenna’s bracelet incorporates nine stones that will assist you in tapping into your inner power and strengths. Leopard skin jasper for grounding, yellow tiger’s eye for movement, red tiger’s eye for motivation, yellow jasper for courage, silver leaf jasper for awareness, ryolite to keep you in the present, carnelian for strength, serpentine to assist you in transforming and turquoise to anchor you health-wise. The bracelet is strung with an all natural and durable natural cotton cord and is finished off with brass hardware and charm.

A portion of the proceeds from the sale of each bracelet will be donated to PETA to further its efforts to combat the exotic skins industry. The bracelets will start shipping on July 15th, but you can go to Energy Muse’s site to pre-order the Women’s and Men’s bracelets.

AS SEEN ON TV: Watch Jenna Dewan-Tatum on E!’s The Daily Ten Tomorrow!!!

In yesterday’s post, I let you guys know that Jenna Dewan-Tatum was going to spend the day doing some advance press with E!’s Daily Ten and YoungHollywood.com and at a photo shoot with Energy Muse in preparation for her upcoming PETA campaign that’s launching on July 7th.

Below we also have a sneak peak at Jenna’s Energy Muse photo shoot where she’s sporting the beautiful, new wrap bracelet she helped design…

Energy Muse was nice enough to send me photos of the bracelet and I LOVE it!!! All I can say for now is that the stones in the bracelet symbolize compassion and respect for all exotic animals. The bracelet will be available for purchase on their site tomorrow or some time early next week and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to PETA.

I’ll be able to give you all a ton more details soon and thanks to Energy Muse we’ll also be giving away one of Jenna’s bracelets and more to a lucky fan, so stay tuned!

Our contest will start next Wednesday, but in the mean time, make sure you watch Jenna on The Daily Ten TOMORROW on E! at 6:30PM CENTRAL / 7:30PM EASTERN. Jenna Dewan-Tatum volunteered at today’s “A Time For Heroes” Picnic benefiting the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric Aids, which was held at Wadsworth Great Lawn in Los Angeles, California.

Below and on today’s post in the CTU Photo Gallery, we have some beautiful new pics of Jenna with Jaime Pressly and fellow PETA spokesperson Olivia Munn as they help kids decorate nightlights, jeans, and Jenna’s Organza Stripe Bandeau Dress from Topshop dress with puffypaint at the 77kids by American Eagle Denim and Oopsy Daisy Art decorating booths.

The A Time for Heroes Celebrity Picnic has raised more than $30 million since 1990 and allows guests to hang with Hollywood’s hottest stars, play games, and enjoy unbelievable food while helping create a generation free of HIV. This year’s picnic included a special performance by multi-platinum recording artist, actor, and songwriter Jesse McCartney.

UNWRAPPED PHOTOS: Jenna Dewan-Tatum at 2010 MTV Movie Awards Pre-Show Event

The 2010 MTV Movie Awards will air on TV tonight, but the gifting suites opened their doors to celebs a few days ago.

On today’s post in the CTU Photo Gallery, we have some new pics of Jenna Dewan-Tatum (who’s currently working on her films ‘Balls to the Wall‘ and ‘Legend of Hells Gate‘) at the Cesar Canine Cuisine booth at Kari Feinstein’s pre-event Style Lounge at The Montage Beverly Hills on June 3, 2010.

While overall proceeds from the event benefited The Creative Coalition, CESAR® Canine Cuisine also provided assistance to help feed dogs in rescue organizations across the country.

For every celebrity guest that visited the CESAR® Canine Cuisine Lounge, a donation of 200 gourmet canine cuisine entrees were donated to dogs in need from each celebrity’s local hometown. Not only could Jenna stock up on CESAR® Canine Cuisine Entrees for Meeka and Lulu, she was also able to help share the love with over 24,000 entrees for canine companions across the country.

The 2010 MTV Movie Awards will air live TONIGHT (June 6th) at 9 p.m. ET from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California. Chan is nominated in the BEST MALE PERFORMANCE category for ‘Dear John‘ and the new BEST ASS KICKING STAR category for ‘G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra‘.

I want to send out a BIG thanks to everyone who voted. Although he’s working on his comedy ‘Cheaters‘ in Chicago and won’t be able to attend the event, I want to wish Chan good luck!!!
