FAN ENCOUNTER: Channing Tatum Hanging with Fans in Toronto
August 24, 2010
I have to admit. It didn’t take very long. Channing Tatum just arrived in Toronto a few days ago to start working on pre-production for his romantic drama ‘The Vow,’ and we already have our first fan encounter. Here’s what fan @MrWillW had to say about running into Chan on the streets of Toronto…
Temperatures sure have been dipping in Toronto of late, but things just suddenly got a little lot hotter. Alabama-born Channing Tatum arrived in Toronto last night to prepare for his role in Michael Sucsy’s next film The Vow, in which he stars alongside Canada’s sweetheart Rachel McAdams…Tatum was all smiles, coming over to say “hi” and pose for a few photos, before heading off to a work-related meeting. He was engaged in a conversation on his Bluetooth Headpiece, but had the courtesy of ending the conversation before coming over, telling his friend that he’d catch up later. He even asked a small group of fans to make sure their photos turned out before heading off. Aww.
You guys can check out a few more new pics that @MrWillW took of Chan during two different encounters below…
@MrWillW, who also happens to be a local entertainment reporter, says that ‘The Vow‘ is scheduled to film in and around Toronto until October 22, 2010, so I hope this is the first of many fan-friendly encounters I get to share with you guys!
Big thanks to @MrWillW for sending me the photos and info! If you happen to run into Chan or Jenna, send your photos and fan encounter stories to fanencounters@channingtatumunwrapped.com. I will post them on the blog to share with envious fans all around the globe!

UNWRAPPED PHOTOS: Channing Tatum in Toronto Prepping for ‘The Vow’
August 22, 2010
In the CTU Photo Gallery, I just posted some new photos of Channing Tatum in Canada where he’s working on pre-production for his next film ‘The Vow‘. Chan, Rachel McAdams, and possibly Scott Speedman will start filming the romantic drama next month in Toronto.
The film is based on a true story about a young woman (played by ‘The Notebook’s Rachel McAdams) who loses all recent memory in a car accident and struggles to rebuild her identity and remember her husband (played by Chan). Speedman will potentially play McAdams’ former fiance, with whom she begins to rekindle a romance in her amnesiac state.
Thanks to fan site Channing-T.com, fans can CLICK HERE check out some new pics of Chan leaving Hemingway’s Restaurant in Toronto yesterday and can stay tuned to CTU to get the latest news on ‘The Vow‘.
If you don’t want to miss any of the new pics I post in the gallery, make sure you’re following @unwrappedphotos on Twitter!!!

MOVIE BYTES: ‘The Eagle’ and ‘Ten Year Reunion’
July 9, 2010
I found a few bits of news about Channing Tatum’s film ‘The Eagle‘ and Chan and wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum’s new, untitled film that I’m going to call ‘Ten Year Reunion‘. Check out today’s Movie Bytes to get the latest scoop. Enjoy!!!
THE EAGLE
This week Focus Features, the distributor behind Channing Tatum’s Roman drama ‘The Eagle of the Ninth‘, announced that the film has officially been renamed to ‘The Eagle‘.
For those who don’t know, the movie is helmed by award-winning director Kevin Macdonald and is based on the best-selling, classic 1954 teen novel by Rosemary Sutcliff, and is set in the dangerous world of second-century Britain.
In 140 AD, twenty years after the unexplained disappearance of the entire Ninth Legion in the mountains of Scotland, young centurion Marcus Aquila (played by Channing) arrives from Rome to solve the mystery and restore the reputation of his father, the commander of the Ninth. Accompanied only by his British slave Esca (Jamie Bell), Marcus sets out across Hadrian’s Wall into the uncharted highlands of Caledonia - to confront its savage tribes, make peace with his father’s memory, and retrieve the lost legion’s golden emblem, the Eagle of the Ninth. Donald Sutherland portrays Marcus’ uncle Aquila, who has retired in Britain; Mark Strong is cast as Guern, an ex-soldier who holds crucial information about the Ninth.
‘The Eagle‘ is set to hit theaters on February 25, 2011. Fans can CLICK HERE to check out a ton of photos from the film in the CTU Photo Gallery.
TEN YEAR REUNION
As I previously posted, Chan and Jenna filmed a test shoot in the Los Angeles area for a movie they were working on last month and tweeted out a lot of great behind-the-scenes pics from the shoot.
The film short was directed by Jamie Linden (who wrote the ‘Dear John‘ screenplay) and included friends and fellow actors Haylie Duff, Nick Zano, ‘The Hurt Locker’s Brian Geraghty (Jenna’s ‘Love Lies Bleeding‘ co-star), and Kate Mara.
In the pic below, you have (from right to left) Chan, Jamie Linden, Jenna, and Reid Carolin (Chan and Jenna’s producing partner at 33andOut) on the set of the film short on June 12th.
I also have a few more details about the test shoot courtesy of ‘Twilight’ Saga producer Wyck Godfrey who’s producing partner, Marty Bowen (’Dear John‘), is working on the new film. While doing interviews for the recent release of ‘Eclipse’, Wyck told Fearnet.com and Collider.com that the project…
“is a ten-year high school reunion movie that Jamie Linden, who wrote Dear John, is writing and directing, and hopefully Channing Tatum and a bunch of his buddies are going to do it.”
It’s not a whole lot, but it’s a little more than we knew before and has me hopeful that ‘Ten Year Reunion‘ (or whatever it ends up being called) could be the next film where we get to see Chan and Jenna together on the big screen again. Fingers crossed!!!

FIRST LOOK | New Photos and Video of Channing Tatum on the Set of ‘Cheaters’
June 16, 2010
After working on a new project with wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum and racking up a ton of Teen Choice Award nominations (hope you guys are voting), Channing Tatum headed back to Chicago via LAX earlier this week to continue filming Ron Howard’s comedy ‘Cheaters‘. Thanks to Corn Popper Movies, Rathsany, and Jumyumi we have the first photos AND video of Chan filming June 15th.
The star-studded ‘Cheaters‘ cast also includes Vince Vaughn, Kevin James, Winona Ryder’s, Jennifer Connelly and Queen Latifah. The movie is about a man (Vaughn) who finds out his best friend’s wife (Ryder) is cheating on him (James), only to struggle with what to do with the knowledge, and Chan plays Ryder’s tattooed and pierced lover.
Corn Popper Movies ran into the film set and had this to share…
“I happened to walk by the filming of Cheaters (2011) and ahem…Channing Tatum and Winona Ryder!! They were filming in Chicago Chinatown’s Wentworth Street. The film crew totally transformed one of the gift stores into a movie set! They moved all of the nick-knacks out of the store and put some meat on display and random Chinese candies inside the store. There were extras and cars lined up on the street to pass through the scene at the right time. Only part of the street was blocked for filming, so the lucky tourists that happened to walk by were able to take pictures and watch the magic happen.”
“Here’s the scene: Channing Tatum parks his car and gets out, leaving Winona Ryder inside. He walks into the store and buys a roast duck from the Asian dude. The salesman dumps the duck into a plastic bag and gives it to Tatum. He gets out of the store, waving the duck at the woman. Then, he gets back in the car and drives away. They must have done the same scene at least ten times…If I walk around Chicago, I might just end up watching the whole movie!”
Fans can also check out a new video from Jumyumi that shows Chan filming his scene with Winona (who’s sitting in the car)…
‘Cheaters‘ is produced by Vince Vaughn and Brian Grazer and Ron Howard’s Imagine Entertainment, is filming in Chicago from May 25th and through August 6th, and currently has a January 14, 2011 release date from Universal.

RUMOR OR REEL?: Channing Tatum’s ‘Knockout’ Gets New Name and Release Date
June 13, 2010
According to The Playlist, Channing Tatum’s action-revenge spy thriller, previously called ‘Knockout‘, has been renamed and is now set for a January 2011 release.
The film, which is directed by Steven Soderbergh (’Erin Brockovich‘, ‘Ocean’s Eleven, Ocean’s Twelve‘, ‘Ocean’s Thirteen‘), had a screening last week, after which attendee Rich Eisen tweeted…
“Saw the new Soderbergh movie “Haywire” the other night. Comes out in January. Already can’t wait to see it again. It’s THAT good.”
If the release date part of this rumor is true, Chan potentially will have three different movies in theaters all at the same time…’Knockout‘/’Haywire‘ (January 2011), the comedy ‘Cheaters‘ (January 14, 2011) and his Roman drama ‘Eagle of the Ninth‘ (February 25, 2011).
For those who don’t know, ‘Knockout‘/’Haywire‘ stars Mixed Martial Arts champion Gina Carano as a black ops spy that is betrayed by her team and goes rogue in an attempt to figure out who’s setting her up. While everyone is on the same side initially, the film supposedly features a lot of duplicity, double crosses, and reversals of allegiances.
Chan (who filmed his role in Barcelona, Spain and New Mexico this past February and March) will play one of the elite specialists on Carano’s team. His character is a military gearhead-type who’s sent to try and bring her back in once she’s been double-crossed.
The incredible supporting cast also includes Ewan McGregor, Michael Douglas, Michael Fassbender, Antonio Banderas, Bill Paxton, Michael Angarano, and Mathieu Kassovitz. Fassbender reportedly plays an untrustworthy teammate, while Douglas ultimately proves to be an ally. McGregor, the owner of the Blackwater-type special ops team (and once a romantic interest to Carano), is instrumental in trying to make her character, Mallory Kane, take the fall for an incident that goes wrong and involves a murder.
Although I can’t confirm the ‘Haywire‘ rumor, I can share new pics of Jenna and Chan with some of their friends…
Jamie Linden (who wrote the ‘Dear John‘ screenplay) directed a film short that Chan and Jenna worked on yesterday and told me the photos are from a “test shoot for a pet project we’ve been kicking around for awhile”. The shoot included friends and fellow actors Haylie Duff, Nick Zano, ‘The Hurt Locker’s Brian Geraghty (Jenna’s ‘Love Lies Bleeding‘ co-star), and Kate Mara.
Below, fans can check out the new pics Jenna and Haylie tweeted to fans yesterday…
For now, that’s all we’re allowed to know about the shoot. Any more details and Jamie would have had to kill me. OK not really, but it almost does work like that in Hollywood. Projects have to stay very hush-hush until you’re really ready to expose them to the world. Stay tuned to CTU, and I’ll make sure to let you all know when and if there’s more to report on this particular project.

FAN ENCOUNTERS: Channing Tatum Hanging Out with Fans on the Set and Overseas
May 28, 2010
Channing Tatum finished filming his crime drama ‘Son of No One‘ in New York City earlier this month. From day one of filming on April 5th fans have been really great about sending me photos and fan encounters from set. On today’s post in the CTU Photo Gallery, we have over 40 new pics that you guys were able to get with the notoriously fan-friendly star as he filmed all over Queens in April and May.
Below, you all can read about two fan’s recent encounters…the first, from fan Heather on the ‘Son of No One‘ set in New York last month and the second, a chance meeting with fan Brooke in Barcelona (where Chan filmed Steven Soderbergh’s action-revenge spy thriller ‘Knockout‘ earlier this year)…
“Hello guys! I just wanted to be able to share my story and photographs from my Encounter with Chan. I’ve been a fan of Channing Tatum for a LONG time. I think the first movie I saw him in was in Havoc with Anne Hathaway…Later, I saw She’s the Man and Step Up which made me “fall in love” with him even more…
…I got to the set at 10:30 AM and felt extremely awkward because my friend and I were the only ones there at the time and Channing was no where to be found since they were filming inside a house. A lot of the crew members were giving us weird looks and I was extremely intimidated. I went to my car to go tell my ride that maybe we should just leave and then I turned me head to see Channing hopping into a car. I was in awe. I looked at my friend and ride and said “Holy Lord, I swear to God that I just saw Chan just get in that car!” They didn’t believe me so my friend and I went for a walk to try and find the trailers to see if Channing was there. I didn’t see anyone in the area of the trailers so we went walking back up to the set. As we were walking, the car that Channing had gotten into drove past me. I looked into the car, and Chan smiled at me. I tried to catch up with it but by the time I got to the house, he had already gone inside.
To make this long and amazing story short, I saw Channing get into his car and go to the trailers once more and decided to stand outside the trailer in any attempt of at least speaking him since it was getting late, and it was extremely hot out. Around 3:15, Channing finally did come out of the trailer and socialized with his fans. I talked to him briefly but he introduced himself and thanked me for waiting for such a long time. I am glad to say that after 5 hours of waiting, my dream came true; I went home with a ton of pictures, a full heart, a mean sunburn (not one of the greater parts of the day), and bragging rights…The experience was fantastic and I thank Chan a million times for making my wildest dreams come true!”
Thanks again,
Heather (@x0heathercee0x)
Here’s a new video showing fans and Chan during one of the many set encounters…
The next fan encounter was originally posted on HitRecord.org by BrookieMcG. It was then re-posted on PostTheLove.com and sent to me by CTU reader Vanessa…
“Ah Channing Tatum! On the last day of our trip, we had to meet up at the Hard Rock Cafe, Barcelona. While waiting in the lobby with a few of my friends, I happened to see him standing next to us. I have met a few actors in my life and I never would have guessed that he was as sweet as he was. He couldn’t have been any nicer; something that one doesn’t expect while meeting someone like himself. He was very friendly and was curious about why were in Spain and where were from. After he was called for his reservation, he gave me a hug! Definitely the best way to end a trip.”
Thanks to all the fans for submitting your fan encounters! You can also CLICK HERE to check out even more pics from the ‘Son of No One‘ set and CLICK HERE to read a bunch of other fan encounter stories.
If you happen to run into Chan or Jenna, send your photos and fan encounters to fanencounters@channingtatumunwrapped.com. I will post them on the blog to share with envious fans all around the globe!

UNWRAPPED PHOTOS | Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan-Tatum…From LA to NYC
April 21, 2010
As ‘Dear John‘ took over the #1 spot in the UK box office (clashing with ‘Titans’ and taming a ‘Dragon’), Channing Tatum continued to film his crime thriller ‘Son of No One‘ in New York City and wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum filmed her romantic comedy ‘Balls to the Wall‘ in Los Angeles.
Fans can check out the latest pics of the bi-coastal sweethearts on today’s post in the CTU photo gallery.
We have Chan walking around the Soho district of NYC in his ever-popular Vibram Five Fingers and visiting a photo gallery on April 19th and Jenna showing off her gorgeous gams in LA on April 17th and on the set of her new movie this week.
We also have a couple of exclusive personal pics (aka Glamour Shots) that Jenna just tweeted to fans today. Just in case there was ever any doubt, the pics make it really clear that the Texas beauty got hit by the pretty stick at a VERY early age.
What’s next for the couple? On 4Music Saturday, May 1st at 10:00am , UK fans get to check out Jenna’s moves in her cameo in Christina Aguilera’s new music video for the single “Not Myself Tonight”, and all of Jenna’s fans get to see almost ALL of the starlet in her upcoming Peta campaign at the end of this month or in early May!
Although their film projects are sadly keeping them apart right now, fans will get to see both Chan and Jenna together again very soon. They will attend the Tribeca Film Festival premiere of their latest joint project, the documentary ‘Earth Made of Glass’, on Chan’s birthday next Monday.
The film (which they’re executive producing through their production company 33 & Out) is getting rave reviews and has been chosen as a top movie to watch by both New York Magazine and the Hollywood Reporter.
It’s also been announced that President Paul Kagame of Rwanda will attend the world premiere of ‘Earth Made of Glass’ at the Tribeca Film Festival and will conduct a Q+A after the film!
Fans can CLICK HERE to get your tickets for the April 26th premiere before they sell out. Hope to see you there!!
