CASTING NEWS: Rosario Dawson Joins Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan-Tatum’s ‘Ten Year’
December 18, 2010
The longer I do CTU the more I realize that certain information on Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan-Tatum’s projects will come out in the press, and quite often it’s not completely correct or it’s premature. Because CTU is the official site for both of them, it’s important that I release accurate information. That sometimes means I have to wait until I get official word from the studios, Chan and Jenna, or their camps before I can report certain news here on the site.
So if I’m not reporting it, it’s normally because I can’t…yet, and today’s story fell into that category…
A couple of days ago, the Hollywood Reporter announced that Rosario Dawson had joined the cast of Chan and Jenna’s movie ‘Ten Year‘. At that point, it wasn’t official yet, but I got word today that her addition to the cast is now a done deal!
In the pics at the top of today’s post, you see Chan, Jenna, and Rosario at GQ’s Men of the Year party last month. Although Chan and Rosario weren’t in any scenes together, longtime fans know that ‘Ten Year‘ won’t be the first time they share the silver screen. You may recall that Rosario had a role in Chan’s 2006 indie drama ‘A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints‘.
As I previously posted, ‘Ten Year‘ is being produced by Marty Bowen, Wyck Godfrey, Adam Londy, Chan, and his 33&Out, Inc. production partner Reid Carolin and kicked of production today in the Albuquerque, New Mexico area where they will be filming through out January 2011. Here’s a behind-the-scenes pic of Chan and Reid from day 1 of filming…
The high school reunion drama is written and directed by Jamie Linden (writer of ‘Dear John‘ and ‘We Are Marshall’) and also stars Lynn Collins, Ari Graynor, Oscar Issac, Max Minghella, Eiko Nijo, Aubry Plaza, Scott Porter, Kate Mara, Brian Geraghty, Chris Pratt, and Justin Long.
I’ve received an official invite, and I’m hoping to make it out to set before they wrap, so continue to stay tuned to CTU and their new Facebook page for exclusive news on ‘Ten Year‘.
I so can’t wait to see Chan and Jenna on the big screen together again! I’m also extremely happy to see them create their first non-documentary feature under their new production company. Chan, Jenna and Reid are all forces to be reckoned with, and this type of success honestly couldn’t happen to three better people!

PERSONAL PICS OF THE WEEK: Exclusive Photos from Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan-Tatum
December 13, 2010
Each week Channing Tatum Unwrapped will post one or more of our favorite pictures of the uber beautiful Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan-Tatum.
Although Mr. and Mrs. Tatum were miles apart working (Chan was busy getting interviewed in LA for ‘The Eagle‘ press junket and Jenna’s filming her action movie ‘Setup‘ in Michigan), I get to bring them together in today’s post of exclusive, behind-the-scenes personal pics.
First up we have Chan taking a picture of his sister Paige as she takes a picture of him relaxing before he starts his interviews for a UK press junket for ‘The Eagle‘ in LA on December 13th…
Next up we have an extremely cold Jenna tweeting from Grand Rapids where the production for ‘Setup‘ has been bearing the cold to shoot scenes by the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel, on Monroe Avenue, on Elmwood Street, and at Rumors Night Club on South Division Avenue. MLive.com reports the action movie, which also stars Bruce Willis, Ryan Phillippe, and Randy Couture, will film on Coit Street and around the Woodlawn Cemetery on Kalamazoo later this week, before they wrap filming this weekend. Jenna tweets…
“Yes I know I have thin LA blood but, -5 degrees on set right now? Really Michigan? Reeeeally??”
…and says “Helloooooooooo from set“…
Then, Jenna tweeted out this photo while she was “doing a scene with @50cent….who is awesome. And sweet. And talented“…
To change it up a bit, Jenna also tweeted a somewhat intimidating pic of Chan’s rescue dog Lulu, whose giving the Huffington Post’s cutest pets EVER a run for their money. In addition to being a sweety, the adorable ears and beautiful blue eyes give Ms. Lulu a definite leg up in this contest…
Last, but not least, we have pictorial evidence of the number one reason why Jenna says she’ll never pull any pranks on Chan (aka “The Prank Master”), because “payback is too serious”. She tweeted out a hilarious pic of Chan’s surprise birthday gift to her earlier this month. Hands down, it’s my favorite of the bunch…
Thanks to Chan, Paige and Jenna for the awesome pics! Fans can also find the personal pics above and more in the CTU Photo Gallery.

FIRST LOOK: Jenna Dewan-Tatum Shooting Scenes for ‘Setup’
December 6, 2010
Check out the first pics of Jenna Dewan-Tatum filming her latest movie ‘Setup‘ (a drama about a group of friends who are catapulted into the middle of a diamond heist that turns deadly) in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The movie, which also stars Bruce Willis, Ryan Phillippe, and 50 Cent, took over the corner of Monroe Center Street and Ottawa Avenue to film a three-car crash on December 5, 2010.
After countless rounds of ammunition and several takes of the bad guys yanking Jenna out of a black Ford Crown Victoria, MLive.com reported that the production “capped the day with a shattering finale by blasting out the windows of Madcap Coffee in a blaze of blank bullets”.
Dozens of onlookers battled snow, 30-degree temperatures, and a bitter breeze to watch quietly while cameras rolled. You too can watch the action in pics from JustJared.com and MLive.com on today’s post in the Channing Tatum Unwrapped Photo Gallery.
Fans can click on the image at the top of this post to check out pics of Jenna filming one of her action-packed scenes. Enjoy!!!

PICTURES OF THE WEEK: Channing Tatum, Jenna Dewan-Tatum, and Rachel McAdams in Chicago for ‘The Vow’
October 27, 2010
Each week Channing Tatum Unwrapped will post one or more of our favorite pictures of the uber beautiful Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan-Tatum. Here’s what I have for you guys this week…
Jenna headed to Canada last week to visit hubby Channing Tatum, who’s currently filming the romantic drama ‘The Vow‘ in Ontario. After wrapping on the Toronto set of the film a few days ago, the couple flew to Chicago where Chan is working on the film this week.
The last time Chan and Jenna were in Chicago, he was filming the romantic comedy ‘The Dilemma‘ (which hits theaters January 14, 2011). The couple had a pretty high profile outing at Wrigley Field when Chan threw out the ceremonial first pitch at a Cubs game last June. Mr. and Mrs. Tatum are back in Chi-town for a few days so Chan can finish filming ‘The Vow‘, but this trip has been a bit more low key.
On Monday (October 25th), the production was scheduled to film on the Pink Line “EL” Train starting at the Damen Avenue stop and at North and Milwaukee. After Chan finished shooting, the couple was spotted having dinner at Asian Fusion restaurant Sunda with their production partner Reid Carolin, the film’s director Michael Sucsy, and costar Scott Speedman and Jenna also hung out with high school friend Jena Cherry…
Yesterday (October 26th), Chan and costar Rachel McAdams filmed near the Art Institute of Chicago under Millennium Park’s Bean sculpture and on Dearborn across from Hotel Sax. Thanks to fan and Chicagoan Kelly we have a really cute shot of the on-screen couple in the middle of a scene…
The cool part about outdoor shoots…Fans @itselizabethj and @zacharybarnes1 also caught up with Chan and Rachel McAdams near set yesterday and got a chance to take some great pics with them…
Based on reports, the production is supposed to move to a location not far from Wrigley Field today and tomorrow, and once things officially wrap up, Chan and Jenna will finally get to head home later this week.
Thanks to Jena, Zachary, Kelly, and Elizabeth for all of the great photos!!! All of the pics can be found in the CTU Photo Gallery too.

NEWS FLASH: Channing Tatum Heads Back to Chicago to Wrap Up Filming on ‘The Vow’
October 24, 2010
Chi-town fans be on the look out, because after filming ‘The Dilemma‘ in your city earlier this year, Channing Tatum has headed your way again. Chan’s romantic drama ‘The Vow‘ packed up shop in the Canadian city of Toronto, Ontario and has moved on to Chicago for the next week to wrap up filming on the movie. After two months away, the busy actor will finally head back home to Cali late next week.
For those who don’t know, ‘The Vow‘ stars Chan, Rachel McAdams, Scott Speedman, Jessica McNamee, Sam Neill, and two-time Academy Award winner Jessica Lange.
The film is based on a true story about a young woman (played by Rachel) who loses all recent memory in a car accident and struggles to rebuild her identity and remember her husband (played by Chan). Speedman will play McAdams’ former fiance, with whom she begins to rekindle a romance in her amnesiac state, and Jessica plays McAdams’ estranged younger sister in the film.
‘The Vow‘ is the real-life story of Arizona couple Kim and Krickitt Carpenter, which is chronicled in a book called “The Vow: The Kim and Krickitt Carpenter Story‘ and dates from 1993, two months after their marriage, when their car was hit from behind by a truck.
Screen Gems Studios is co-financing the movie with Spyglass Entertainment (who’s both producing and distributing the Michael Sucsy-directed film). Sucsy, who directed HBO’s award-winning film ‘Grey Gardens’, rewrote the movie’s script.
The production started filming in Toronto on August 30th and fans reported filming in numerous areas of the Canadian town, including the intersections of College/George and Queen/Ossington and on Baldwin Avenue and Saint Clair Avenue West. The production was also spotted in the Toronto Financial District and at the Golden Turtle Restaurant, City Hall, and The Roastery Coffee House over the past few weeks.
‘The Vow‘ will hit theaters some time in 2011 or 2012. Fans can check out the latest pics of Chan on the Toronto set, hanging around the city, and taking photos with fans in the CTU Photo Gallery.

IN THE PRESS: Jenna Dewan-Tatum & Channing Tatum Bonding Over Movie-Making
October 1, 2010
Earlier this week, NBC’s Popcorn Biz caught up with Jenna Dewan-Tatum when she attended Arcade Boutique’s Autumn Party (a charity fashion show which benefited Children’s Institute, Inc.).
In their interview with the actress/producer, we learn a little more about Chan and Jenna’s first project together since ‘Step Up‘ (a high school reunion film called ‘Ten Year‘), their documentary ‘Earth Made of Glass‘ (which will have it’s international premiere in Documentary Feature Competition at the 2010 Abu Dhabi Adff Film Festival this month), and one project fans will “never” get to see. Get the latest scoop in NBC’s Popcorn Biz article below…
Jenna Dewan married her “Step Up” co-star Channing Tatum and we can clearly expect the loved-up couple to keep churning out the professional product while working on the personal partnership. The two are joining forces on a number of projects together including the movie “Ten Year” about a group of friends heading back to their high school reunion. The couple will star in and produce the project. Dewan has no concerns about being able to juggle both worlds. “The first movie we did together was ‘Step Up’ and that was amazing. This will be our first movie since then that we’ll be acting together. But I think we’ll be quite loving about it. There’s been no problems yet. Ask me afterwards.”
“Ten Year” will be a family/friend affair with an ensemble cast featuring what Dewan calls “a bunch of our friends.” It will be written and directed by Jamie Linden (who wrote the screenplay for Tatum’s “Dear John.”) The movie will feature their married pals Anna Faris and Chris Pratt, Scott Porter (”Friday Night Lights”) and “Star Trek” stud Chris Pine. Dewan calls it an updated version of “The Big Chill” with the friends dealing with each other all over again. While she won’t say exactly what role she and her husband will play, she does admit there will be sparks between the two onscreen. “Let’s just say we like each other,” says Dewan.
Dewan and Channing are also have executive producing credits in the post-Rwandan genocide documentary “Earth Made of Glass,” working to help publicize the film. “My husband and I were brought into the film to help get it out there,” says Dewan. “We just felt it was the right thing to do.” With “Ten Year” scheduled to start filming in November, look for many more projects in the years to come. But Dewan does draw the line — you won’t see a couple reality show. “I never say never, but I do say, we’ll never do a reality show,” she grimaces.
