New Photos of Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer, Matt Bomer and Adam Rodriguez in ‘MAGIC MIKE’

On Christmas day, the world got it’s first official glimpse of Channing Tatum’s Steven Soderbergh-directed film ‘Magic Mike‘ in a photo featuring Chan, Alex Pettyfer, Joe Manganiello, Matthew McConaughey, and Kevin Nash on the Xquisite stage performing their Fourth of July dance.
Now we have two new photos courtesy of the January 20th issue of Entertainment Weekly and new details via interviews from Chan and his castmate Matt Bomer.
For those who don’t know, ‘Magic Mike‘ is a story of friendship set in the world of exotic male dancing and is inspired by (but not based on) Chan’s experiences at a Chippendales-style revue early in his career. Chan plays the main character (Mike), who mentors a young dancer (The Kid) played by Alex Pettyfer and teaches him the fine arts of partying, picking up women, and making easy money.
In a recent interview with Collider.com, Matt Bomer revealed more of the plot…
“It’s actually a really intricate plot. It’s very of a Saturday Night Fever/Boogie Nightsilk. It’s a coming of age story. The central relationship in the film is Channing [Tatum] and Alex Pettyfer’s relationship. They play Mike and this character called The Kid. It’s a mentorship type of thing. One person is unhappy with where he is and knows that there’s a real ceiling to that lifestyle and that life, and one person is just getting into the whole glorious aspect of what it means to be a stripper.”
Collider and PopSugar also interviewed Chan during last week’s ‘Haywire‘ press junket. Here’s what he had to say about the tone of the film…
“All the stuff that actually happens in the movie is entirely fictitious and made up because we wanted to take liberties and we wanted to make it good…It’s a fun movie; we wrote it to be fun. We actually wrote it very comedically and in knowing Soderbergh’s style, he doesn’t punch in for close-ups and he doesn’t shoot in a very classic comedic way, so I think, overall, it will make it fun. The stuff that is happening is kind of outlandish, the characters at times will be bizarre.”

In addition to Chan, Alex, Joe, Kevin, Matt, and Matthew (who plays Dallas, a retired dancer and the owner of the club), the movie also stars Olivia Munn (Magic Mike’s love interest), Adam Rodriguez, Gabriel Iglesias (the club’s DJ), Riley Keough, Cody Horn (Magic Mike’s sister), Wendi McLendon-Covey, ‘Bridesmaids’ actress Betsy Brandt and ‘The Change-Up’ actress Mircea Monroe as the girlfriend of Matt Bomer’s character.
‘Magic Mike‘ may be one of the most important projects in Chan’s career thus far. In addition to starring in the highly-anticipated movie, he also financed the film with Oscar-winning director Steven Soderbergh and is executive producing with his producing partner Reid Carolin (who also wrote the screenplay) via their production company, Iron Horse Productions, Nick Wechsler and Gregory Jacobs.
Not that I really need to convince anyone around here, BUT make sure you show your support when ‘Magic Mike‘ hits cinemas June 29, 2012!!!

It’s a Veeeery Meeeerry Christmas and a Happy Hanukkah for Channing Tatum fans around the world!!! As a present to you all Warner Bros. just released the first official image (featuring Chan, Alex Pettyfer, Joe Manganiello, Matthew McConaughey, and Kevin Nash on the Xquisite stage) and synopsis for the movie ‘Magic Mike‘ via Collider.com!

The film was shot in Los Angeles and Florida in September and October, and a few weeks ago, Chan was spotted between scenes on the Los Angeles, CA set of the dramatic comedy with his production partner Reid Carolin, co-stars Olivia Munn and Codi Horn and his manager Bill Choi during a 2-day reshoot.
My set visit was interesting, to say the least. My advice is…get your tickets as soon as they go on sale, because I have no doubt ‘Magic Mike‘ is going to sell out a ton of theaters when it hits cinemas June 29, 2012!

Only CTU can give you the background behind the photo strait from Chan’s mom Kay! She told me that this is a picture of an adorable and rambunctious four year old Channing Tatum cooling off in a tub at his grandmother’s Alabama farm…
In the October 3rd issue, US Weekly’s readers voted and declared that Jenna wore it best and “wowed” in Zac Posen at the ‘Ten Year‘ premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival last month…
The October 2011 issue of People Magazine’s Style Watch says Jenna got it right yet again with a high bun she styled herself for the ‘Dear John’ UK premiere last year…

Chan took a break from filming ‘Magic Mike‘ to walk his rescue dog Lulu on the beach in LA and the magazines fell in love. The extremely busy actor has five films scheduled to hit the big screen between November 2011 and June 2012…’Son of No One‘ (November 4th), ‘Haywire‘ (January 20th), ‘The Vow‘ (February 10th), ‘21 Jump Street‘ (March 16th) and ‘G.I. Joe: Retaliation‘ (June 29th).

Check Out Channing Tatum, His Pup Lulu, and Castmates on the Set of ‘Magic Mike’

As I previously posted, Channing Tatum’s movie ‘Magic Mike‘ started shooting in the Los Angeles area on September 13th. The very next day, our contest winners got an exclusive opportunity to be extras in the Steven Soderbergh-directed film and to hang out on set with Chan and his co-star Alex Pettyfer.
This week, Chan was spotted between scenes on the Los Angeles, California set of ‘Magic Mike‘ with his production partner Reid Carolin, co-stars Olivia Munn and Wendi McLendon-Covey and his assistant Kurtz. He even took a little break to walk his pup Lulu on the beach near set.
Both Reid and Kurtz will also play roles in the film, which will shoot in the Tampa, Florida area in a few weeks, before the movie wraps on principle photography in mid-October. After wrapping, a beyond busy Chan will head back to Louisiana to finish filming ‘G.I. Joe 2‘.

‘Magic Mike‘ is produced by Chan, his producing partner Reid Carolin (who also wrote the screenplay) via their production company, Iron Horse Productions, Nick Wechsler and Gregory Jacobs, and is helmed by Oscar-winning director Steven Soderbergh.

Channing Tatum’s movie ‘Magic Mike‘ started shooting in the Los Angeles area on September 13th, and we again want to thank all of the fans that entered our contest to be an extra in the film!
After more than 12 hours of filming scenes with Chan and his co-stars Alex Pettyfer and Cody Horn, CTU’s contest winners were all smiles at their exclusive meet and greet where they got to hang out and take pictures with Chan and Alex on Wednesday night after they wrapped on day 2 of filming. Channing Tatum jetted back to Los Angeles right after Monday’s ‘Ten Year‘ cast party and premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival to start shooting his movie ‘Magic Mike‘ yesterday morning, a day earlier than originally planned.
The film is now officially in the principle photography phase of production, and we want to thank the hundreds of fans that entered our contest to be an extra on the movie! The following winners have already been notified and will get a meet and greet with Chan when they finish filming ‘Magic Mike‘ scenes with him, Alex Pettyfer, and Cody Horn today…
