VIDEO OF THE WEEK: Channing Tatum is ‘Half a Clown’ on HitRecord.org

For those who don’t know, Channing Tatum is a huge fan of longtime friend Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s creative community HitRECord.org. It’s a place where artists and filmmakers can post their work and then collaborate with a community of users who can contribute to the work by adding their own tweaks.
Chan has been posting his work on the site for the past year or so and even appeared in the comedic film short ‘Morgan & Destiny’s Eleventeeth Date’, which is a sequel to ‘Morgan M. Morgansen’s Date with Destiny‘ and premiered to a packed house at the 2010 South by Southwest Film Festival.
Recently, Chan took a break from his busy schedule (he’s currently filming ‘Magic Mike‘ in Florida) to post yet another original video to the site, and her’s what he had to say about it….
Hey all!! Been a while since I jumped in the record pool. Sorry who knows where the time goes. This is something I shot with a buddy when we found this abandon school. I have more footage but just wanted to throw this together to see what ya thought. We’re gonna go back and do something a little more thought out soon. Would love for someone to write and story, or give any ideas where to take a narrative. I love this character! Miss all of you Recorders!! Much love from the Clown world.

After debuting on HBO a few weeks ago, Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan-Tatum’s political documentary ‘Earth Made of Glass‘ is now available on HBOGo through May 31st, and for those who don’t have HBO, the DVD also began shipping out YESTERDAY.
Fans can CLICK HERE to order the ‘Earth Made of Glass‘ DVD for $19.95, and you can also buy a limited edition, autographed version for $50.00 (only 100 are available). Each autographed copy is signed by both Chan and Jenna, who executive produced the film with their producing partner Reid Carolin via their production company 33andOut.
The moving documentary, which is directed by Deborah Scranton, takes an inside look at the repercussions of the 1994 Rwandan genocide from political and personal perspectives. ‘Earth Made of Glass‘ details Rwandan president Paul Kagame’s role in rebuilding the war-torn country into Africa’s biggest success story and the multi-generational story of genocide survivor Jean Pierre Sagahutu, who has been on a 15-year search for clues to his father’s murder. Despite never having met, the stories of a President and an ordinary citizen become inextricably linked; bound by a love of country, an insatiable need for truth, and a hope for peace.
Entertainment Weekly says that…
“‘Earth Made of Glass‘ offers an emotionally engaging, informative view of post-genocide Rwanda that spares you from anything too hard to stomach. The idea of the film is not to replay the horror of the Rwandan genocide, but to find a blueprint for peace and ending cycles of violence in conflict areas.”
Chan and Jenna jumped at the opportunity to produce the film to educate both themselves and their fans on what happened in Rwanda in 1994. Chan told EW …
“I knew of the genocide, but I didn’t know anything about it. I just want to help this story get out there. My audience skews younger, and I think kids can really learn from it.”

After debuting on TV last week, Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan-Tatum’s political documentary ‘Earth Made of Glass‘ will air again on HBO2 on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at 2:30pm ET/PT.
For anyone who subscribes to HBO, the film is currently available on HBO ONDemand Documentaries through April 29th and will also be available on HBOGo from April 16th through May 31st.
For those who don’t have HBO, you can CLICK HERE to pre-order the ‘Earth Made of Glass‘ DVD for $19.95. You can also buy a limited edition, autographed version for $50.00 (only 100 are available). In a recent interview Chan did with EW during a press day for the film, he let them know that he saw producing the movie as an opportunity to educate himself and younger viewers.
“I knew of the genocide, but I didn’t know anything about it. I just want to help this story get out there. My audience skews younger, and I think kids can really learn from it.”
Much of the film focuses on Jean Pierre Sagahutu, a Rwandan driver for the film crew, who tragically lost his two parents, four brothers, and three sisters during the genocide. He narrowly survived by hiding in a septic tank for two months, and in the amazing documentary, he actually finds one of his father’s killers. Channing tells EW…
“It really baffles me. I can’t understand how you can go what he went through and be able to move on the way Jean Pierre has. He has the emotional genius to understand what happened to him and teach his kids to move on, too.”

In a much more light-hearted interview for the film, both Chan and Jenna, who will celebrate their 2 year wedding anniversary on July 11th, shared a bit of their domestic bliss with People Magazine.
SHE SAID…
“He’s a really understanding husband. He’s very compassionate. He grew with all women, so he understands where girls are coming from and what our needs are…We work at it. We do something to make each other feel special…I try to give him a kiss or a hug, and tell him ‘I love you’ every day, and he does the same for me.
HE SAID…
“I hope I’m a good husband. I always put the toilet seat down. I grew up with women, so I would get in big trouble if I didn’t put the toilet seat back down. It’s been ingrained in me…She’s the perfect wife. She’s so loving and a beautiful lady inside and out…Even though my clothes are literally everywhere, she’s actually the messier one, but Jenna does pick up the clothes and does the laundry. I’m more of the kitchen guy, and I vacuum and keep the desk organized. So, we split it down the middle.
“One of the best parts of being married is coming home and just sitting on the couch with her. Knowing that she will be there and that she understands me and I can tell her about my day, it’s really nice. We love each other, and we live together, so we talk about things all the time, so it was natural for us to produce together. She can always play devil’s advocate. So, I will be like, ‘Alright, I see that side.’ There’s not a person in the world that knows me better, so we make a great team.
I hope you guys support Chan and Jenna buy watching ‘Earth Made of Glass‘ on HBO and picking up a copy of the DVD. It’s a wonderful documentary, and we are all so extremely proud of it!

After leaving LA yesterday, Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan-Tatum reappeared in New York today at the HBO Documentary Screening of their political documentary ‘Earth Made of Glass‘, which they executive produced via their production company 33&Out.
In the photos on today’s post in the CTU Photo Gallery, we have new pics of the hard-working couple at HBO Theater with VP of HBO Documentary Films Sara Bernstein, director Deborah Scranton, and producer Reid Carolin for the premiere screening of the film.
Make sure you don’t miss ‘Earth Made of Glass’s US television premiere on HBO2 TOMORROW, April 6th at 8:00-9:30 p.m. ET/PT. It will also replay on April 27th at 2:30 p.m. ET/PT!!

Chan and Jenna Heading to New York and Posting the Love…

In the photos on today’s post we have new pics of Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan-Tatum making their way through the Los Angeles airport yesterday. They were heading to New York to attend the HBO premiere screening for their political documentary ‘Earth Made of Glass‘.
Chan, Jenna, and their producing partner Reid Carolin executive produced the film via their production company 33&Out. They originally debuted ‘Earth‘ last April at standing-room-only premiere at the 2010 Tribeca Film Festival that included the President of Rwanda, who’s featured in the documentary which chronicles the Rwandan genocide.
The film will be released on DVD soon (I’ll have more details in a future post) and premieres exclusively on HBO2 TOMORROW, April 6th at 8:00-9:30 p.m. ET/PT and replays April 27th at 2:30p.m. ET/PT!!
Chan and Jenna have been extremely busy…In addition to getting a new LA production office ready for business, Chan just wrapped up a US and UK press tour for his Roman-era drama ‘The Eagle‘. He’s also has been prepping for his next film, ‘21 Jump Street‘, with cast table reads and firearms training. He’ll start filming the comedy later this month in New Orleans with Jonah Hill.
Jenna “had a blast” filming her NBC pilot “The Playboy Club” in Chicago, but recently tweeted…
“Missing my hubby and my babies today. The furry babies.”
…before filming wrapped on April 2nd. It’s safe to assume that she was happy to be back home with her family, and here she is spending some quality time with her and Chan’s “lil monsters” Meeka and Lulu at a local LA dog park this week…
