Self Magazine is celebrating their 5th Annual Women Doing Good Awards by honoring Jenna Dewan-Tatum! The long-time animal lover and  advocate will head to New York next month for the awards ceremony and is featured in their September 2012 issue.

Jenna, who sponsors a pig named Zeus (nicknamed Piggie Smalls) and a horse named Bonzai with hubby Channing Tatum through the charity Gental Barn, tells Self

“I started by sponsoring Zeus, an abused pig who’d been rescued from a fair, for $30 a month, at The Gentle Barn, which rescues and rehabilitates abused or malnourished farm animals and offers programs for children. Then I visited the Barn, and my time there was transformative.”

Want to sponsor an animal in need or volunteer to be a Gental Barn cow hugger? CLICK HERE to donate or head on over to Gental Barn’s Virtual Barn to learn how you too can help Zeus, Bonsai, and any of the other incredible animals that are given a second chance through the angels at the charity.

CONGRATS to Jenna on a well-deserved award!!

I too am a animal lover and do whatever I can to help them. They are so many that are mistreated. I lived out in the country where people would just dump there animals out. I always found them homes, or kept them. I just dont understand what is wrong with people. Animals have feelings too! I work at a vets office and most of our clients have pets that have been rescuers. Makes me so happy there are people like us who care for these unwanted animals.

  2. I was just wondering if Channing was raised Catholic as he attended Tampa Catholic High School, or if he just went because it is an academically superior school.
