Exciting news!!! The ever-gorgeous Jenna Dewan-Tatum is featured on the cover of this month’s issue of Barcode Magazine!

Here’s a sneak peek of the new article that features photos of Jenna as Bunny Janie in her upcoming NBC show ‘The Playboy Club‘…

It takes a brave woman to accept an acting role that requires little more to wear than a reinforced satin ’60′s Playboy Bunny uniform….After earning husband Channing Tatum’s stamp of approval, the bubbly actress takes to the boob tube this fall. Clad in her skimpy wardrobe as the sassy and secretive Bunny Janie, Dewan-Tatum embarks on her journey as a member of The Playboy Club…

Her initial reaction to being handed the pilot: “I thought, this one is special…I started realizing how smart and very progressive [Hugh Heffner] was.”

Her impression on the misogynistic perception people have of the show: “These women were so empowered and independent, making their own money and putting themselves through college.”

Her movie ‘Ten Year‘ with hubby Channing Tatum (their first film together since ‘Step Up’): “It’s all about friendships and relationships, and how much they’ve changed in ten years. Chan and I play boyfriend and girlfriend, which was really fun.”

How she and Chan make their Hollwood marriage work: “You fall in love with who you fall in love with. We’re supportive of each other, and we understand the business.”

In “The Playboy Club“, Jenna will play an iconic Playboy Bunny named Janie in the hour-long drama that’s set during the political and moral upheaval of the 1960s and is centered around the voluptuous ladies of the original Chicago Playboy Club.

In addition to Jenna, the show also stars Laura Benanti, Amber Heard, Leah Renee Cudmore, Naturi Naughton, Eddie Cibrian, David Krumholtz, Jenifer Lewis, Wes Ramsey, Cassidy Freeman and Sean Maher.

“The Playboy Club” is planning on bringing in a series of stars to portray famous performers from the 1960s in the period drama, and Entertainment Weekly is reporting that they just booked their first guest singer! Colbie Caillat will play the famed vocalist Lesley Gore and will perform Gore’s classic song “It’s My Party” on the show.

Speaking of casting, the Chicago Tribune is reporting that “The Playboy Club” will hold a casting call for paid extras at the Academy of the Arts from 11:00AM – 3:00PM this Saturday. Casting directors are looking for males and females of all races between 18-80 years old. Auditioners are asked to bring a pen and dress in early 1960′s attire (dark suits for men, dresses for women). For more information, email playboyextra@gmail.com.
