Channing Tatum’s comedy ‘The Dilemma‘ will officially be available on DVD and Blu-ray in the UK TOMORROW!!!
In addition to Chan, ‘The Dilemma‘ features an all-star comedic cast that includes Vince Vaughn (’Couples Retreat’, ‘Wedding Crashers’), Kevin James (’Paul Blart: Mall Cop’, ‘Grown Ups’), Academy Award® winner Jennifer Connelly (’A Beautiful Mind’, ‘He’s Just Not That Into You’), Winona Ryder (’Black Swan’, ‘Star Trek’), and Queen Latifah (’Hairspray’, ‘Chicago’) in a story of how far you can bend a brotherly bond before it snaps.
For those who didn’t get a chance to catch ‘The Dilemma‘ in theaters, here’s the full synopsis for the film…
Vince Vaughn and Kevin James headline an all-star comedy from director Ron Howard and producer Brian Grazer about a man who finds out that what you don’t say to a friend is just as important as what you do. Jennifer Connelly, Winona Ryder, Channing Tatum and Queen Latifah join them in The Dilemma, a story of how far you can bend a brotherly bond before it snaps. Since college, confirmed bachelor Ronny (Vaughn) and happily married Nick (James) have been through thick and thin. Now partners in an auto design firm, the two pals are vying to land a dream project that would launch their company. With Ronny’s girlfriend, Beth (Connelly), and Nick’s wife, Geneva (Ryder), by their sides, they’re unbeatable. But Ronny’s world is turned upside down when he inadvertently sees Geneva out with another man (Zip played by Channing) and makes it his mission to get answers. As the amateur investigation dissolves his world into comic mayhem, he learns that Nick has a few secrets of his own. Now, with the clock ticking and pressure mounting on the biggest presentation of their careers, Ronny must decide how and when he will reveal the truth to his best friend.

CASTING NEWS: Alex Pettyfer Joins Channing Tatum’s ‘Magic Mike’

I have a couple new items for you guys today…First of all, I wanted to show the latest artwork featuring Channing Tatum from the extremely talented Indonesian artist Arief Kurniawan. Although his fan art may look like photos, they’re actually drawings and are always spot on. In today’s piece, Arief used an image of Chan from his gorgeous 2009 Vanity Fair photo shoot.
If this one drawing isn’t enough proof of Arief’s ability to capture Chan’s likeness with uncanny accuracy, make sure you check out all of the previous drawings that he’s allowed me to share with fans here on CTU.
I also wanted to give you guys a quick casting update for Chan’s upcoming Steven Soderbergh-directed film ‘Magic Mike‘.
As I previously reported, Chan is going to be working with the director again on the new indie film, which is a story of friendship set in the world of exotic male dancing and is inspired by Chan’s experiences early in his career. Chan is set to play the main character, who teaches a young dancer the ropes, and NYMag’s The Vulture confirmed with actor Alex Pettyfer (’I Am Number 4‘) that he will play the young dancer.
Last week, The Vulture caught up with the 21-year-old Brit at HUGO’s event honoring the Young Collectors Council of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum. Alex told the mag…
“I literally just got a phone call out of the blue. Steven called me and he goes, ‘Hey, it’s Steven Soderbergh,’ and I was like ‘Oh, okay.’ I didn’t really believe it at the time. He goes, ‘I’ve got some stuff I’m going to e-mail you and if you respond, then let me know.’ I read it and it was amazing. It’s an amazing story. It’s got some clearly amazing people attached to it. I called him back and said, ‘What do I need to do to be a part of this?’ and he said, ‘Just say yes.’ I’m a very lucky man.” I am definitely going to have to take some dance classes.”
In addition to starring in the film, Chan will also be producing the movie with his 33andOut producing partner Reid Carolin (who’s also writing the script), Nick Wechsler, and Gregory Jacobs. Rumor has it that shooting on ‘Magic Mike‘ could start as early as this September.

IN THE PRESS: Entertainment Weekly’s First Look at Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill’s ‘21 Jump Street’

Channing Tatum has been filming his comedy ‘21 Jump Street‘ in New Orleans, Louisiana for the past three weeks.
I recently posted an on set fan encounter with Chan and his co-star and fellow executive producer Jonah Hill that gave us a first glimpse at the two actors in uniform in the cop comedy, but thanks to Entertainment Weekly, fans will get an official first look at the dynamic duo at work on ‘21 Jump Street‘ in their issue that hits a newsstand near you TOMORROW.
In the meantime, you can check out new pics that were taken today by fan Renee Hrapmann when she and her mom ran into Chan on Magazine Street in New Orleans. Renee tweeted that the fan-friendly actor “made me and my mom’s day“…
In addition to executive producing ‘21 Jump Street‘ , Chan and Jonah will star as two undercover cops, Jenko and Schmidt, who are assigned to work inside high schools and colleges. The cast also includes Ice Cube, Rob Riggle, DeRay Davis, Brie Larson, Dave Franco, and Johnny Depp, who recently filmed a cameo for the movie. The film is an update on the classic ’80s TV show that jump started (pun intended) Depp’s career.
‘21 Jump Street‘ is directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller from a screenplay by Michael Bacall and is based on a treatment from Hill and Bacall. Neal H. Moritz will produce the film with Stephen J. Cannell, who will receive posthumous credit.
The production will be filming in NOLA through the end of June, and ‘21 Jump Street‘ will hit a theater near you on March 16, 2012.

NBC officially announced the pickup of Jenna Dewan-Tatum’s new show “The Playboy Club” this week, and Jenna headed to New York City to attend NBC’s upfronts on May 16th where they unveiled their fall schedule to the world.
“The Playboy Club” will debut on TV this fall after “The Sing-Off” at 9pm Central, but today, fans can checkout new pics of Jenna looking stunning at the upfronts and at NBC’s after party from Jenna, Jenna-Dewan.us, Leann Rimes (the wife of Jenna’s “The Playboy Club” co-star Eddie Cibrian), and more on this post and on today’s post in the CTU photo gallery…

FIRST LOOK: Check Out Jenna Dewan-Tatum in NBC’s Newly Picked Up Pilot “The Playboy Club”!!!

Today, Jenna Dewan-Tatum was finally able to make the exciting announcement on her Twitter about the fate of her new show “The Playboy Club,” and it was nothing but good news for her and her fans….
“Happy excited and grateful. Happy excited and grateful. Happy excited and grateful…Guys I can officially announce now that my new show The Playboy Club has been picked up! Can’t wait for you guys to see it!!”
Jenna headed to New York City today to attend NBC’s upfronts tomorrow. For those who don’t know, the upfronts are where the broadcasters unveil their fall schedules, announce their new programming, and show off their stars to the world.
As I previously reported, Jenna’s new show was the first pilot ordered into development this season by NBC. Jenna will play an iconic bunny named Janie in the hour-long drama that’s set during the political and moral upheaval of the 1960s and is centered around the voluptuous ladies of the original Chicago Playboy Club.
In addition to Jenna, the highly anticipated show, which The Daily Beast says has one of the
“eight strongest drama pilot scripts“, also stars Laura Benanti, Eddie Cibrian, Amber Heard, Leah Renee Cudmore, David Krumholtz, Wes Ramsey, Sean Maher, and Naturi Naughton.
Playboy founder Hugh Hefner recently gave his seal of approval for the show when he tweeted…
“I watched a rough cut of the NBC pilot of “The Playboy Club” tonight. It really rocks.”
In addition to uber producer Brian Grazer (“A Beautiful Mind,” “American Gangster”), the executive producers on “The Playboy Club” include Chad Hodge (“Tru Calling”), Francie Calfo (“Scoundrels”), Jason Burns (”The House Bunny”) and Dick Rosenzweig (“Kendra”). Hodge also wrote the pilot, which was directed by Alan Taylor (“Mad Men,” “The Sopranos”, “Game of Thrones”). The pilot for “The Playboy Club” was filmed in March at the old Meigs Terminal on Northerly Island in Chicago. Although NBC has not confirmed that the series will shoot in the Windy City, Betsy Steinberg, managing director of the Illinois Film Office, told the Chicago Tribune that it will be filming there.

After debuting on HBO a few weeks ago, Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan-Tatum’s political documentary ‘Earth Made of Glass‘ is now available on HBOGo through May 31st, and for those who don’t have HBO, the DVD also began shipping out YESTERDAY.
Fans can CLICK HERE to order the ‘Earth Made of Glass‘ DVD for $19.95, and you can also buy a limited edition, autographed version for $50.00 (only 100 are available). Each autographed copy is signed by both Chan and Jenna, who executive produced the film with their producing partner Reid Carolin via their production company 33andOut.
The moving documentary, which is directed by Deborah Scranton, takes an inside look at the repercussions of the 1994 Rwandan genocide from political and personal perspectives. ‘Earth Made of Glass‘ details Rwandan president Paul Kagame’s role in rebuilding the war-torn country into Africa’s biggest success story and the multi-generational story of genocide survivor Jean Pierre Sagahutu, who has been on a 15-year search for clues to his father’s murder. Despite never having met, the stories of a President and an ordinary citizen become inextricably linked; bound by a love of country, an insatiable need for truth, and a hope for peace.
Entertainment Weekly says that…
“‘Earth Made of Glass‘ offers an emotionally engaging, informative view of post-genocide Rwanda that spares you from anything too hard to stomach. The idea of the film is not to replay the horror of the Rwandan genocide, but to find a blueprint for peace and ending cycles of violence in conflict areas.”
Chan and Jenna jumped at the opportunity to produce the film to educate both themselves and their fans on what happened in Rwanda in 1994. Chan told EW …
“I knew of the genocide, but I didn’t know anything about it. I just want to help this story get out there. My audience skews younger, and I think kids can really learn from it.”
