Jenna Dewan-Tatum’s ‘Legend of Hell’s Gate’ and ‘Balls to the Wall’ Premiering at Newport Beach Film Festival
April 30, 2011
After a quick trip to New Orleans to visit hubby Channing Tatum for his birthday on the set of ‘21 Jump Street‘, Jenna Dewan-Tatum got back to work and tweeted a gorgeous sneak peek of today’s photo shoot with celebrity photographer Davis Factor.
The starlet has two films that will be premiering at the 2011 NEWPORT BEACH Film Festival over the next week, so fans will be able to check out her indie romantic comedy ‘Balls to the Wall‘ on SATURDAY, April 30, 2011 and her western ‘The Legend of Hell’s Gate: An American Conspiracy‘ on WEDNESDAY, May 4, 2011. Here’s more info on both films…
Jenna filmed the Penelope Spheeris-directed comedy ‘Balls to the Wall‘ in April 2010. The movie is about Ben Camelino, a struggling cartoonist who works as an I.T. guy at a boring, faceless corporation. He and Rachel (played by Jenna), his fiancé, want to get married as soon as possible. However, when Ben follows his future father-in-law into a male strip club, his life is changed forever.
After being mistaken for a new dancer and shoved on stage, Ben displays an unexpected talent for the craft. After learning that his future in-laws are broke, Ben starts performing to earn the money for the wedding and finds himself the club’s star attraction. Along the way, the limits of Ben and Rachel’s relationship are tested as Ben does all he can to give his fiance a dream wedding.
Here’s a few behind-the-scenes photos of Jenna from set…
And here’s the new trailer for the film (which pre-sold more tickets than any film in the history of the NEWPORT BEACH Film Festival’s)…
‘Balls to the Wall‘ will premiere at the NEWPORT BEACH Film Festival’s Saturday Night Centerpiece Party (presented by 944 Magazine and hosted by Stella Artois and Absolut) at Sports Club LA-Orange County. CLICK HERE to buy tickets for the event, and you can learn more about the movie on their official Facebook page.
Jenna filmed ‘The Legend of Hell’s Gate: An American Conspiracy‘ in late 2009 in north Texas, not too far from her hometown of Grapevine. Fans can CLICK HERE to check out all of great behind-the-scenes photos that Jenna shared with her fans during filming.
‘The Legend of Hell’s Gate‘ is written and directed by Tanner Beard. The film relives the story of how the expeditions and encounters of three outlaws through historical 1870s Texas were remembered for a lifetime. The film will also shed light on how ‘Hell’s Gate’ at Possum Kingdom Lake, Texas came to have it’s name.
Fans can CLICK HERE to get tickets for the screening, and can check out Jenna in the film’s trailer below…
Stay tuned to CTU, the movie’s official Facebook, and Twitter for the latest updates!

The NEWPORT BEACH Film Festival runs from April 28th to May 5th, 2011 and will spotlight over 350 films from 40 different countries around the world, including feature length narrative, documentary, short, animated and student films that will compete for a series of Jury, Festival Honors and Audience Awards.

NEWS FLASH: Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill’s ‘21 Jump Street’ Starts Filming in NOLA
April 25, 2011
Channing Tatum has been in the The Big Easy since last week to prep for his next film (aka ‘21 Jump Street‘), and he finally began principal photography on the comedy with fellow co-star and executive producer Jonah Hill (who continues to tweet from location) in New Orleans, Louisiana this morning.
Thanks to Jonah, we also have a couple of new behind-the-scenes ‘21 Jump Street‘ photos. Today, he tweeted a pic of the official clapper board and a police logo from set…
In addition to executive producing, Chan and Jonah will star as two undercover cops, Jenko and Schmidt, who are assigned to work inside schools. Here’s a couple great fan encounter pics from today’s filming that extra Travis White took with Chan and Jonah…
In the casting department, there continues to be a ton of news as they add more actors to the ever-growing roster…
Recently, Variety reported that Daily Show funny man Rob Riggle was in talks to join the comedy as the main villain, that comedian DeRay Davis will play Domingo (a tattooed leader of a biker gang that doubles as a drug ring), and that rising star Jake Johnson has also been cast as a principal in the Columbia Pictures’ action comedy.
Deadline.com reported that Ice Cube was in negotiations to join the film as Chan and Jonah’s police chief and that Brie Larson was added to the cast in the lead female role of Molly (possibly Jonah’s love interest in the film).
The film news site has also reported that Dave Franco (James Franco’s brother) will play a villain named Eric in ‘21 Jump Street‘. The character is supposedly the most popular kid in school, who also happens to be a huge drug dealer, and Jonah Hill’s character will befriend him to infiltrate the “cool kid crowd”.
Today, Collider.com also reported that Johnny Simmons (’Scott Pilgrim vs. the World’) has been cast in the film.
On the Johnny Depp front, ComingSoon.net and Entertainment Weekly reported today that the actor, who played Officer Tom Hanson in the TV series the film is based on for 80 episodes, will have an uncredited cameo in the movie!!!
The film is directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller from a screenplay by Michael Bacall and is based on a treatment from Hill and Bacall. Neal H. Moritz will produce the film with Stephen J. Cannell, who will receive posthumous credit.
And don’t forget…Coulon Casting is currently seeking extras (police officer types and high school students) for ‘21 Jump Street‘. CLICK HERE to get more info on how to register.
Thanks to Jonah once again for the exclusive photos! The production will be filming through the end of June, so I’m sure there’s more pics to come, and if reports are correct, ‘21 Jump Street‘ will hit a theater near you March 16, 2012.

VIDEO OF THE WEEK: New Trailer for Jenna Dewan-Tatum’s ‘Slightly Single in LA’
April 25, 2011

A few days ago, Jenna Dewan-Tatum packed up her adorable pup Meeka and headed to New Orleans to visit hubby Channing Tatum, who officially kicked off filming for his comedy ‘‘21 Jump Street‘ this morning.
I’ll have more on Chan’s film soon, but on today’s Video of the Week we have the first trailer and a new poster for Jenna’s upcoming romantic comedy ‘Slightly Single in L.A.‘. In addition to Jenna, the comedy also stars Lacey Chabert, Kip Pardue, Carly Schroeder, Simon Rex, Chalier Bewley, Jonathan Bennett, Haylie Duff, and Chris Kattan, and is written and directed by Christie WIll.
Jenna plays Hallie in the movie, and here’s what the film is all about…
Dale Squire is a hip, quirky, independent single gal living in the glossy city of Los Angeles. After several failed attempts in quasi-relationships, Dale concludes that finding a meaningful relationship in L.A. is impossible. But being anti-social is tough for any young girl in Hollywood, and with Dale’s entourage - Jill: a high maintenance ex-soap star obsessed with her own wedding, Becca: an honest C-list actress waiting for her big break in Hollywood, Seven: Dale’s flamboyant house mate, and Hallie: a super sexy, laid back jewelry designer - she is lucky to have such a reliable group of friends in a city where it’s easy to get lost. With Jill’s frantic wedding right around the corner, Dale finds herself reflecting on the significance of marriage, and the mutual respect needed for a successful relationship. When Zach, a successful heartthrob actor and old friend of Dale’s, finds his way back into her life, Dale slowly starts to think that maybe finding love in L.A. is possible - the only problem is that her realization might have come too late, leaving Dale in a silent love triangle, with no way out.
Click on the new poster above to check out the new trailer on the production company’s website, and you can check out tons of set photos and production stills from the film in the CTU Photo Gallery.
Fans can also get more information on the film from their official Facebook page.
If you have a favorite video that you would like me to consider, send a link to the video to votw@channingtatumunwrapped.com and tell me why you like it. I will post it and your explanation on the blog.

RUMOR OR REEL?: New Name and Filming Location for the Sequel to Channing Tatum’s ‘G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra’
April 19, 2011
Recently, Paramount announced an official release date for the sequel to Channing Tatum’s $302 million grossing action film ‘G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra‘.
Now, rumors are floating around about a possible name and potential filming location for the highly-anticipated movie…
If you’ll recall, ‘G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra‘ filmed all over the world…California, Czech Republic, France, and more. NOLA.com is not only reporting that the film’s sequel will be called ‘G.I. Joe 2: Cobra Strikes‘, but that it will also possibly shoot in Baton Rouge from August 1st through late November (according to Louisiana’s office of film and video).
As many of you know, Chan is currently working on his comedy ‘21 Jump Street‘ in New Orleans (about 90 minutes from Baton Rouge) through June, so filming for ‘G.I. Joe 2‘ could extend his stay in the Bayou State.
Jon Chu (’Step Up 2‘, ‘Step Up 3D‘, ‘Justin Bieber: Never Say Never’), who’s directing the sequel, recently told Box Office Magazine…
“There’s something about G.I. Joe that has history, that has a soul…very few brands have a soul. Like the Boy Scouts have something to do with America, even Mickey Mouse, even Apple has a soul to it. And Joe has a soul. And I’ve never felt like I’ve had a movie of Joe of where I can taste my childhood right there.”
In his interview, Jon also mentions that the script (written by “Zombieland” scribes Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick) “is really good”, and they are working to “build in a few more things that will make it even better”.
In his pursuit to create a film with a “grittiness” and a “new attitude”, he let Box Office Magazine know that he would love to take it to the next level in 3D, but the final decision has not been made yet.
The production is currently in the beginning of the film making process…picking and designing characters and the worlds they will live in. Jon is also forming his production team and in true Jon style wants the fans to help decide what characters make it onto the screen.
In addition to Chan’s “Duke Hauser”, which characters do you want to see in ‘G.I. Joe 2: Cobra Strikes‘ when it hits theaters on August 10th, 2012? Tweet your requests to Jon on his official Twitter, and he may just find a way to grant your wish!
As always, stay tuned to CTU, and I’ll make sure to keep you guys updated on the official status of ‘G.I. Joe 2‘ (whatever it’s going to be called and where ever they end up filming)!
