PERSONAL PICS OF THE WEEK: Girls’ Night Out for Jenna Dewan-Tatum and Emmanuelle Chriqui
February 28, 2011
Last night, Jenna Dewan-Tatum had a fun girls’ night out with best friend Emmanuelle Chriqui at InStyle’s Academy Awards viewing party and Madonna’s Oscar party, where the Queen of Pop reportedly donned a hat and fishnets as she judged an impromptu dance-off during the star-studded soiree.
Before the parties, Jenna tweeted out a couple of cute pics of she and Em (who just joined twitter) getting ready for the night’s festivities. After the parties, Jenna (who looked gorgeous in a crimson dress by Ronald Abdala) tweeted…
“Had a blast at @InStyle last night…that popcorn buffet is the death of me! Yummm! Went to Madonnas Oscar party and it. was. insane. Never seen anything like it! That’s what parties in LA are supposed to be like!”
Here’s the two beauties on today’s post on Instyle.com and in Jenna’s personal photos from last night…

CTU FAN POLL: Do You Want to See Channing Tatum in the Remake of ‘The Bodyguard’?
February 25, 2011
Way back in 2009, the New York Daily News reported that singer Rihanna would supposedly be starring in a remake of the Whitney Houston/Kevin Costner film, ‘The Bodyguard‘, which had a hugely popular soundtrack that included Houston hits like “I Will Always Love You”, “I Have Nothing” and “I’m Every Woman”.
A supposed insider also reported that the remake would be a “young and sexy take” on the film and that Chan’s name had also been thrown into the hat to take on Costner’s role.
It was a fun idea but was also a COMPLETELY false rumor that both Chan and Rihanna’s camps denied.
Fast forward to 2011 and Deadline Hollywood is reporting that Warner Brothers is going to remake the 1992 blockbuster hit about a Secret Service agent drafted to protect a singer who’s being hunted by a stalker. In the updated story, the agent will now be an Iraq war veteran who gets the bodyguard job shortly after leaving the service. Deadline reports…
“He discovers that the world of Twitter, Google Maps and TMZ has made access to celebrities easier than ever, making the job more difficult than ever. The goal is to take a young female singer with global appeal and give her the platform that The Bodyguard did Houston.”
No casting announcements have been made and no one has been cast in the lead roles as far as we know, but everyone from Gather.com to People.com have already decided that Chan and Rihanna would be an “intriguing” pairing in the remake.
As far as singers go, I’m kind of liking Perez Hilton’s suggestion of Katerina Graham from “Vampire Diaries“. I think the actress/singer really could pull this off and could have a great chemistry with Chan. This may also be a good role for Leona Lewis or Jennifer Hudson.
More importantly, I want you guys to put on your casting caps. I would love to hear what you think about Chan playing the Frank Farmer role in the remake. You can quickly vote in the poll below and leave a comment on this post to suggest which actress should play in the Rachel Marron role…

UNWRAPPED PHOTOS: Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan-Tatum at Vanity Fair’s Campaign Hollywood 2011 Event
February 24, 2011
On Monday, Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan-Tatum kicked off Oscar week at the Vanity Fair Campaign Hollywood 2011 event and tweeted out a cute pic of themselves on the way to the charity event…
For the event, Vanity Fair partnered with Chrysler to celebrate Best Picture Nominee ‘The Fighter’ at LA’s District on Sunset where Chan and Jenna rubbed elbows with the film’s co-star, Amy Adams, as well as actors Gerard Butler, Malin Akerman, Helen Mirren, Kristin Davis, and many among others.
The pre-Oscar party had a dual purpose. In addition to hosting the Hollywood elite, the event also benefited the charity Communities In Schools, which focuses on working within the public school system, determining student needs and establishing relationships with local businesses, social service agencies, health care providers, and parent and volunteer organizations to provide needed resources.
Here’s a few more pics of Chan and Jenna arriving at the party where they were asked to sign a Chrysler 300 and inside the star-studded event…
FHM posted a really cute article about Jenna with photos from the party. Here’s why they’re warning that the starlet is a certified heartbreaker..
This is Jenna Dewan. Say “Hello, Jenna Dewan”. Jenna Dewan says ‘hello’. Now we’ve got those customary niceties out of the way, let’s get down to business. You know the drill: we show you a few photos of an attractive lady looking attractive, you think “Mmm, she looks nice. Based purely on looks, I’d like her to be my girlfriend, or at least a friend I can do stuff like hold hands and go to the zoo with. But I need to know more about her before I can commit to anything”. So we tell you a bit about the lady in question, except our whimsical fancy regularly means we end up pontificating about poached eggs or that nightmare we had where Liam Gallagher was every member of The Beatles, rather than drilling into the minutiae of whatever nongermane event said lady was attending…
…And here comes the part where you’ve decided you definitely would like to hold hands and stuff with Jenna Dewan before your dreams are crushed like a penguin whose sole dream in life is to fly like an eagle: Jenna Dewan is married. Worse, she’s married to a man called Channing Tatum. He was also at the event at which these photos were taken, something to do with Vanity Fair and Chrysler and the film The Fighter. He’s all handsome and successful and OH JUST SHUT UP.
I’m sure that both Chan and Jenna have broken their share of hearts, but they’re such an amazing couple, you can’t help but love them anyway!

NEWS FLASH: Jenna Dewan-Tatum Cast in NBC’s New Pilot “Playboy”
February 19, 2011
There’s tons of rumors floating around about Channing Tatum’s projects…Is Chan’s ‘Step Up 2: The Streets‘ director Jon Chu going to direct the next installment of ‘G.I. Joe’? Is Ice Cube going to join Chan and Jonah Hill in the comedy ‘21 Jump Street‘?
These questions I can’t answer…yet, but I CAN confirm that Chan’s wife, actress and producer Jenna Dewan-Tatum, has officially joined NBC’s new pilot “Playboy”!
Deadline Hollywood is exclusively reporting that Jenna will play an iconic bunny in the show, which is the first pilot ordered into development this season by NBC.
It’s an hour-long drama set during the political and moral upheaval of the 1960s and is centered around the voluptuous ladies of the original Chicago Playboy Club.
Jenna (who I can exclusively report will play Janie) couldn’t be more excited about her new role and just tweeted…
“Hey guys! I will be in the upcoming Playboy club pilot for NBC and I’m so excited! Love the script, love the role! Aaaand the director of one of my favorite shows Madmen is directing..I feel very blessed.”
TheFutonCritic.com describes Jenna’s character in “Playboy” as the “life of the party, naughty, carefree, but that hint of a Southern accent suggests she’s running away from something”.
In addition to a run down of the pilot script, NewsInFilm.com also reports that Alan Taylor, who directed the first episode for AMC’s award-winning drama “Mad Men”, “is shooting the NBC pilot and likely to bring some of the same classy swagger to the new series”.
A show of this caliber is such an amazing opportunity, and I couldn’t be more happy for Jenna!!! HUGE CONGRATS!!!
One last note…
Just in case you guys missed my posts on Facebook and Twitter, Jenna’s upcoming romantic comedy ‘Slightly Single in L.A.‘ just added new production stills to their official Facebook page.
Fans can click on the image below to check out the new stills and can find previously released photos from the film in the CTU Photo Gallery…
Jenna plays Hallie in the movie and here’s what Slightly Single in L.A. is all about…
Dale Squire is a hip, quirky, independent single gal living in the glossy city of Los Angeles. She makes ends meet by working in the obscure world of reality television, while pursuing her passion as a photographer. After several failed attempts in quasi-relationships, Dale concludes that finding a meaningful relationship in L.A. is impossible. After all, a girl can only take so many toe-sucking fashion photographers and star-seeking personal trainers. And in Los Angeles, there are many of these men. But being anti-social is tough for any young girl in Hollywood, and with Dale’s entourage - Jill: a high maintenance ex-soap star obsessed with her own wedding, Becca: an honest C-list actress waiting for her big break in Hollywood, Seven: Dale’s flamboyant house mate, and Hallie: a super sexy, laid back jewelry designer - she is lucky to have such a reliable group of friends in a city where it’s easy to get lost. With Jill’s frantic wedding right around the corner, Dale finds herself reflecting on the significance of marriage, and the mutual respect needed for a successful relationship. When Zach, a successful heartthrob actor and old friend of Dale’s, finds his way back into her life, Dale slowly starts to think that maybe finding love in L.A. is possible - the only problem is that her realization might have come too late, leaving Dale in a silent love triangle, with no way out.

IN THE PRESS: Entertainment Weekly’s First Look at Channing Tatum & Rachel McAdams’ ‘The Vow’ and More!!!
February 19, 2011
I haven’t seen it yet, but I can already say that Channing Tatum’s upcoming romantic drama ‘The Vow‘ is going to be one of my favorite movies of all time, and here’s why…
First of all, it has Chan in it. Then, you throw in a heaping cup of Rachel McAdams, a dash of Scott Speedman, and an heartstring-tugging storyline, and you have an instant recipe for a film that Chan’s fans (me included) are going to stampede to go see.
‘The Vow‘ started filming in Toronto last August, finished filming in Chicago last October and is scheduled to hit theaters around Valentine’s Day in 2012.
Since we have almost a year before the movie hits the big screen, I was really glad to see that Entertainment Weekly has featured the film in their “First Look” article where fan’s get an early peek at some of Hollywood’s coolest projects. Here’s what EW has to say about the highly anticipated film…
In The Vow (out Valentine’s Day 2012), McAdams stars as a woman who suffers a traumatic brain injury in a car accident and wakes up to find the past five years of her memories erased. During that time, she had married a handsome, loving man (Tatum) — but now she has no idea who he is. “We really are the sum of our memories. When that’s taken away, what do we have left?” says director Michael Sucsy (HBO’s Grey Gardens). “It’s a romantic story about a guy who has to win back his soul mate.”
In addition to Chan, Rachel, and Scott, ‘The Vow‘ also stars Jessica McNamee, Sam Neill, and two-time Academy Award winner Jessica Lange. As EW says above, the film is about a young woman named Paige (played by Rachel) who loses all recent memory in a car accident and struggles to rebuild her identity and remember her husband Leo (played by Chan). Speedman will play McAdams’ former fiance, with whom she begins to rekindle a romance in her amnesiac state, and Jessica plays McAdams’ estranged younger sister in the film.
‘The Vow‘ is based on the real-life story of Arizona couple Kim and Krickitt Carpenter who were married in 1993. Two months after their marriage, the couple’s car was hit from behind by a truck, leaving Krickitt in a coma and with amnesia after coming out of the coma. They later chronicled their story in a book called “The Vow: The Kim and Krickitt Carpenter Story‘, and the film is based on their book.
CTU followed ‘The Vow‘ through filming, so fans can check out pics of Chan on the Toronto and Chicago sets, out and about, and taking photos with fans in the CTU Photo Gallery.
Although you have to wait a little while for ‘The Vow‘, Chan currently has two movies in theaters right now…the comedy ‘The Dilemma‘ and his Roman-era drama ‘The Eagle‘. Entertainment Weekly gave ‘The Eagle‘ a great review in their February 18, 2011 issue and even featured the film in their “Must List” in the February 25, 2011 issue. Check out both articles below, and if you haven’t already, make sure you go see ‘The Eagle‘…

NEWS FLASH: Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan-Tatum’s ‘Earth Made of Glass’ Premiering on HBO!!!
February 18, 2011
“There is no den in the wide world to hide a rogue. Commit a crime, and the EARTH is MADE OF GLASS.” — Ralph Waldo Emerson
Earlier this year ‘Earth Made of Glass‘, a political documentary produced by Channing Tatum, Jenna Dewan-Tatum, and Reid Carolin’s production company 33&Out and Deborah Scranton’s Clover & a Bee Films, received a coveted 2011 Producers Guild Award nomination for Best Documentary Theatrical Motion Picture.
Although I’ve known this for months, I can finally officially report that the film has been purchased by HBO and will premiere on the cable channel on April 6th!!!
And I once again want to send out a HUGE CONGRATS to Deborah, Reid, Chan and Jenna!!!
The moving film, which has been endorsed by former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, follows Rwandan President Paul Kagame and genocide survivor Jean-Pierre Sagahutu and had a standing room only premiere at the 2010 Tribeca Film Festival in New York City this past April.
Against the backdrop of the world’s deadliest war in neighboring Eastern Congo, Rwandan President Paul Kagame released a report on August 6th, 2008 detailing the French government’s hidden role in planning the 1994 Rwandan genocide.
Three months later, his closest aide, Rose Kabuye, was arrested by France on charges of terrorism. Meanwhile, a genocide survivor haunted by his father’s unsolved murder scours the Rwandan countryside on a 15-year search for clues.
Despite having never met, the story of a President and an ordinary citizen become inextricably linked in this extraordinary documentary.
In addition to producing the film, Deborah Scranton (pictured on the left at a Houston International Journal of Law screening I attended last October) directed ‘Earth Made of Glass‘. She’s also known for directing ‘The War Tapes‘ (short-listed for the Oscar in 2007), which influenced how they made Chan’s 2008 Iraq war drama ‘Stop-Loss‘.
You can watch the documentary’s official trailer below…
Fans should also mark your calendars to make sure you don’t miss the documentary on HBO on Wednesday, April 6, 2011!
