Last time we got a bit of news about Channing Tatum’s New York-based crime drama ‘Son of No One‘ we learned that Netflix had already licensed the right to stream the first-run theatrical film over the internet to their members during the pay TV window.

Way before fans will be able to see the film online via Netflix and before it’s worldwide theatrical release, you guys will get an opportunity to see the movie at what’s considered to be one of the most prestigious films festivals in the industry…

The Sundance Institute just announced the lineup for out-of-competition films selected to screen in the “Premieres” section of the 2011 Sundance Film Festival. The festival’s “Premieres” section is known for showcasing the diversity of contemporary independent cinema, for offering the latest work from American and international directors, and for premiering highly anticipated films.

Channing Tatum's MoviesIt’s kind of like deja vu…The last time we saw Chan at at Sundance, he was promoting his very first Dito Montiel-directed film, the critically acclaimed ‘A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints‘. And now ‘Son of No One,’ Chan’s most recent film with Dito, will also have it’s premiere at Sundance and has been bestowed the honor of being the closing film for the entire festival.

The 2011 Sundance Film Festival runs from January 20th – 30th in Park City, Salt Lake City, Ogden and Sundance, Utah.

Although I can’t find an exact date and time on the Sundance website yet, (with a little help from Dito) I can exclusively report that ‘Son of No One‘ will premiere at Park City’s Eccles Theatre on January 28th at 6:15pm. You can go to the Sundance website to learn how to buy tickets.

Son of No One‘ is about two men in post-9/11 New York who are forced to relive two murders they committed as young boys, and their lives start to unravel by the threat of the revelation of these shocking and personal secrets. In addition to Chan, the star-studded cast also includes Katy Holmes (who plays Chan’s character’s wife), Tracy Morgan, Ray Liotta, Juliette Binoche and Al Pacino.

The entire film was shot in New York City this past Spring, and fans can check out tons of photos from the film set in the CTU Photo Gallery.

Mad respect for the collaboration between Chan and Dito Montiel. Honest poetic works of art in an age of commercial junk. Can’t wait for this one!

Have been a fan since your first role. You just have that ( IT) factor. In a time where most actors are so fake and transparent your so real and that is so rare to see these days. I’m a 36 year old disabled man and when your on screen i almost forget about my chronic pain. I also lived in Tampa for a couple of years. I wish you and your family nothing but the best and can’t wait to see your next endevor thanks for being real and treating people with respect and dignity even when were not famous just a normal everyday person.
