After filming at Chi-town’s Music Box Theatre (on Southport between Grace and Waveland) and at Club Lucky (around West Wabansia Avenue and North Honore Street), the movie officially wrapped on Thursday (October 28th) after less than a week in town.
‘The Vow‘ stars Chan, Rachel McAdams, Scott Speedman, Jessica McNamee, Sam Neill, and two-time Academy Award winner Jessica Lange. The film is about a young woman named Paige (played by Rachel) who loses all recent memory in a car accident and struggles to rebuild her identity and remember her husband Leo (played by Chan). Speedman will play McAdams’ former fiance, with whom she begins to rekindle a romance in her amnesiac state, and Jessica plays McAdams’ estranged younger sister in the film.
‘The Vow‘ is based on the real-life story of Arizona couple Kim and Krickitt Carpenter who were married in 1993. Two months after their marriage, the couple’s car was hit from behind by a truck, leaving Krickitt in a coma and with amnesia after coming out of the coma. They later chronicled their story in a book called “The Vow: The Kim and Krickitt Carpenter Story‘), and the film is based on their book.
Screen Gems Studios is co-financing the movie with Spyglass Entertainment (who’s both producing and distributing the Michael Sucsy-directed film). Sucsy, who directed HBO’s award-winning film ‘Grey Gardens’, also rewrote the movie’s script.
Although they just wrapped filming a few days ago, The Projection List is already reporting that the film has an official release date. ‘The Vow‘ is scheduled to hit theaters on February 10, 2012.
Looks like we’re going to have to wait a while to see the film, but in the mean time, fans can check out pics of Chan on the Toronto and Chicago sets, out and about, and taking photos with fans in the CTU Photo Gallery.
