As you guys know, we’ll be announcing Channing Tatum’s 2010 BIGGEST Fan here on CTU on September 13th. Although Top 10 contestant Vernon Allmaras didn’t make it into the Top 3, he posted a really amazing and beautifully gracious open letter to the CTU community on Chan’s site PostTheLove.com, and I just had to share it with you all. Enjoy!!
Recently, I had a chance to enter a contest at CTU online where I could possibly be named as Channing Tatum’s biggest fan. Imagine my shock and surprise when I was fortunate enough to be hand chosen to be in the top ten. I was over the moon. The thrill was… at first stunning but as it sank in, it felt great to have my name, words and thoughts being shared with all the other fans of his. Yeah, I took some heat on it from my buddies. You know, the dudes that are “too cool” to admit Channing could be their action hero. I hear all the slurs too. Hey, no one thought anything if you said Arnold or Bruce or Sly were your action heroes. But Channing is more than that to me.
He has a remarkable talent, perhaps stemming from that idea that he never planned on movies as a career… they planned on him. His acting comes naturally, beautifully. More than this though, I like what I have come to learn about his off screen life. Before Jenna, before fame and after, Channing has never become the cookie cutter “Hollywood” actor. Thank God. He is down home, and real, and passionate about his life, his family, and now of course, his beautiful wife Jenna. He is the type of man we all wish we could know, and because he is famous now, I’m sure a lot of people, myself included, may not get that chance. Granted, I have heard all the stories and seen live proof of how wonderful he is with his fans. He is so humble, so gracious and always giving of himself. He is the genuine article. For this, and so many other reasons, I hold him in the highest regard. That said, I am no stalker, and I do not worship or idolize the man. I just admire the way he is and strive to be more like him in being the best man I can be.
Okay so, back to the contest. What an honor to be chosen for the top ten. I wish every luck, love and blessing for the top three that made it to the next round. Their entries were all equally amazing. Yes, I read my fellow contestants entries. One thing is for sure: We all support Channing in all he does and all the fans seemed to have embraced Jenna wholeheartedly. That’s awesome because fans of one celeb often reject the partner. (I.E. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie) That aside, I am honored to stand along side of Channing’s many many fans and be counted among them. They in themselves are awesome people. Which brings me to my last point.
I have learned over this week or so that it seems one remarkable woman runs CTUonline for Channing and does the most amazing job at it. It’s a huge undertaking I am sure but everything seems so orderly and efficient and everything is handled well and on time. With all this devotion, shouldn’t it be her, that is named as Channing’s ultimate fan? The work she does is simply amazing and CTU is the most comprehensive and complete site on Channing out there, and best site on any celebrity for that matter. She has raised the bar when it comes to mass media information and I sure wish there was a template in place and all pages were so well laid out and organized. If you haven’t checked it out yet, you should. There is a link attached.
Peace and love to you all and best of luck to your 2010 top three finalists!!!

so sweet !!!
Dear Channing:
I have seen you in a few movies especially the Step Up ones with my young son. I must say that I enjoyed them all but your recent movie Dear John was excellent. Your acting was sincere and honest. I could see and feel the love on the wide screen. Dear John was exactly like my life years ago with a boy that I fell in love with who went into the Army. I almost married him but, we went our separate ways and I hope he is happy with his life. I went on and married a wonderful man and now have 2 wonderful boys.
Thank you for helping me relive that part of my life through the movie Dear John. I was in tears when you said goodbye to Savannah in Dear John.
Love,
Melody
