As you can see in the adorable, EXCLUSIVE toddler pic of Jenna Dewan-Tatum on today’s post, she has loved animals for a very long time, so none of us were surprised when she decided to take a stand against animal cruelty with the animal right’s organization PETA.
Jenna’s PETA campaign officially launched today and she looks ABSOLUTELY AMAZING covered in snakelike body paint to call attention to the millions of snakes, lizards, alligators, crocodiles, and other reptiles who are killed for their skins—and then turned into accessories.
To further help the organization, the actress and producer has teamed up with jewelry company Energy Muse to create exclusive vegan bracelets for men and women.
Designed by Jenna and Energy Muse, the unisex “Power” bracelet represents a fight for the protection and preservation of animals skin while tapping into the energy of one’s own inner power. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of each bracelet will be donated to PETA to further its efforts to combat the exotic skins industry.
The affirmation for the bracelet is, “ As I connect with the energy of the exotic animals I embody their powerful energy”, and each stone in the bracelet possesses a different animal energy:
- Leopard Skin Jasper – Grounding
- Yellow Tiger Eye – Movement
- Red Tigers Eye – Motivation
- Yellow Jasper – Courage
- Silver Leaf Jasper – Awareness
- Ryolite – Being Present
- Carnelian – Strength
- Serpentine -Transformation
- Turquoise – Healing
On the back of the “Power” bracelet’s packaging, there’s also a quote from Jenna that says…
“ I believe it is important as human beings to be compassionate and respectful towards all of our earthlings. We are all connected. The abuse of exotic animals is inhumane and unnecessary. Please wear this bracelet and join me in honoring your inner power and the power of these magnificent animals. Together, we have the power to change the world!”

My favorite charity is called Forgotten Cats. Basically, they rescue cats who have been thrown out onto the streets by their owners and give them homes. Everyone should support this organization, it’s completely nonprofit, and it’s really terrible that people would do this to animals. So many feral cats die each winter, help save them!!
<3 Natali
I think people should support http://www.endometriosis.org/
Endometriosis is a disease that can leave girls unable to get pregnant. Woman can have huge pains during their period (menstruation), and many other uncomfortable episodes with this disease. Sadly it can take years before the doctors gives you this diagnose because the pains are very similar to regular menstruation pains. I am supporting this charity not only because I myself have it, but because I know other women who have it, and one who has tried for years to get a baby but without luck..
So I think everyone should support it, because it is a very serious disease, that takes away some womens reason for being a women. a baby..
kind regards Mie
I believe we have to respect every being on Earth, be it humans, animals or nature. What we are doing now to the planet is horrible and organizations like PETA and celebrities like Jenna Dewan-Tantun kickass in furthering the cause! Best way to show our love for all beings is being vegan!
Anyways, my respect goes out to you all! And let’s make a brighter tomorrow for all!
The bracelet is lovely, very down to Earth and I can sense amazing positive energy from it! Way to go Jenna, EnergyMuse and PETA!
i support greenpeace.. cause in indonesia, there are so many exotics animals that almost vanish like orang utan, sumatra tiger, or reptile.. beside that, our forest have been torn down by money-oriented people.. so animals lost their home.. we need to protect their home and protect them from wild hunter..
I have to say I do not have just one fave. charity. I try to donate to many. The MDA is a big one because my son was diagnosed at age 4 with Limb Girdle MD. We do alot of MDA events such as Harley Davidson Ride For Life. The other would be St. Judes. I think everyone should support these causes especially for the children affected by them. Without the donations and support we wouldnt have the research we do to help find cures.
Education is such an important part of life, especially children’s life. In developing countries the children are not only deprived of their nutritional needs, but they are deprived of their education. Just giving them pencils, and pens gives them such hope. Pencils of Promise works to raise money to build schools, and provide other things needed for education. Pencils of Promise is an amazing foundation that everyone should learn about, and support.
My favorite charity is called B.E.A.M.I.N.G. of Wisconsin, which stands for Building Equine Assisted Mobility Into New Growth. It is a non-profit organization that provides persons with disabilities, whether they be physically or mentally challenged, with the opportunity to experience and grow with the action of riding horses. I worked with this organization and seeing the growth of the riders was rewarding and often brought tears to my eyes. The lessons are taught by an occupational therapist who helps each rider on an individual basis to ensure positive growth each day. I support this organization whole-heartedly.
http://www.beaminginc.com
Kent Air Ambulance is a charity organisation that i support… They work to rescue people with life threatening injuries and save the crucial minuted needed to save their lives.
I think that everyone should support this organisation because they receive no government funding so all work that they carry out is paid for by donations. They save peoples lives by rescuing them as quickly as possible and for this i am extremely grateful.
Change for the Children Foundation is an organization by the Jonas Brothers to support programs that motivate and inspire children to face adversity with confidence, determination, and a will to succeed. Each of the Jonas Brothers support a different cause. My favorite cause is The Special Olympics cause supported by Joe Jonas. Everybody should have equal opportunities. Some of us don’t have the confidence and determination to do or achieve certain things. The Special Olympics organization helps people with intellectual disabilities develop self-confidence, social skills, and a sense of personal accomplishment. Which are very important to each of us. There are millions of people with intellectual disabilities around the world. Think about how much we can do in one person’s life by helping.
I believe that the St. Judes research needs to be paid more attention to by everybody. This charity constantly needs to raise money to help out young children that are our future. Many people don’t take into consideration the amount of children suffering from sickness everyday and the lack of support shown by society for these children.
I think it’s great that Jenna Dewan-Tatum is doing this PETA campaign! The bracelet idea is really cool. I love how each stone has a different meaning. Jenna and Energy Muse did an amazing job designing it. The abuse of exotic animals is inhumane and unnecessary.I think a lot of people will support PETA and their fight for animal rights!
My favorite charity is call the Okizu Foundation. They host summer and family weekend camp for families that are going through childhood cancer. They have help families for about 30 years now. I was one of the family they helped. I was 13 years old when I was diagnose with cancer. Now I am 22 and volunteer for summer camp as a counselor. They are a small organization in northern California and they could need all the help they could get.
My favorite organization is To Write Love On Her Arms. This organization is all about suicide prevention. They give news regularly about people they’ve helped. They accept donations and have clothing items along with accessories to help support them. They beleive every life is valuable and so do I.
<3abi
My favourite charity is Make A Wish, because this charity is helping many young children live their dream, they may not have a long life, but the make a wish foundation is providing them with a fun filled life, I think it is an amazing and humbling thing to be doing, and they are doing a great job of it!
Ellie xx
I have plenty of charities that hold a special place in my heart but my favs would be The Children’s Miracle Network and any charity dealing with animals like PETA, ASPCA, etc. In fact, there is a website (http://www.theanimalrescuesite.com) that I visit everyday just to click on a button that allows sponsors of the page to donate food to shelter animals. I am especially drawn to organizations that help with shelter animals because I honestly feel like there are so many animals out there that need a good home but breeders make it very difficult for those animals to find that loving home unless we all adopt instead of helping breeders make money. I adopted the love of my life, my dog Cole, from a nearby shelter and it was the best decision I ever made. I wish I had the ability to adopt more but I just can’t afford it, so I do what I can (ex: clicking on a website everyday) just to help those animals that are in need. If anyone reads this and cares, please do the same. You have no idea how much joy it will bring to your life knowing that you saved an animals life!
There are so many charities that I feel are so important and that I try to support on a regular basis, it is so hard to pick my favorite. Right now I am really supporting the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org) in honor of my grandmother who is currently battling kidney cancer. Some of the other ones I support are: Feeding America (www.feedingamerica.org), Toys For Tots (www.toysfortots.org), The Human Rights Campaign (www.hrc.org), the Muscular Dystrophy Assoc. (www.mda.org), St. Jude Childrens Hospital (www.stjude.org), and of course the Humane Society (www.humanesociety.org).
I encourage everyone to pay it forward and give back to something that helps others through not only monetary donations but by giving your time. Together, we can change things!
The charity closest to my heart is the Lupus Foundation of America. My best friend was diagnosed when she was 16, died for a few minutes and then came back to us. The doctor gave her a few months to live, a year or two at most. Thanks to new and experimental medication, she will be turning 30 in Sept. 2010! There is no cure for this disease and the fight is raging to find one. This disease should be supported because it is a crippling one that has left my best friend with osteoporosis, water in her brain, the deterioration of all her major organs and joints, and the inability to have children, to name a few. More awareness to this disease needs to be made, because no one knows where it comes from and how a person contracts it. The symptoms are just flu-like and you would never realize that you have Lupus. It’s not something a doctor will know to look for so you have to specifically ask for Lupus tests. Thx, Jenna and Chan, for getting ppl together to fight for things that really matter in this life.
I put the wrong website address before.
My favorite charity is The Breast Cancer Charities of America (BCCA). This past December my Mom was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. My friend and I wanted to do something to help. We decided to have a charity event in honor of my Mom. We searched and searched and found that the BCCA seems to be one of the most helpful. It was a great place to get answers from how to tie a head wrap to what is good to eat after certin types of Chemo. Our event was a great success and we ended up raising a lot of money for the BCCA and plan on doing it again next year! Thanks!
To Write Love On Her Arms is my favorite charity because I think life is about living and the only thing that holds us back is ourselves. Pain is powerful but so is love. And in the end love will always win in every situation.
Not exactly a charity of sorts, but it has gotten SO big, that it’s helping out. http://www.sharkwater.com/savesharks.php
Sharkwater. An amazing documentary done by the amazing Rob Stewart. He changed my life. He changed many people’s lives. Many organizations have gone and dedicated themselves to save sharks. Why just try to save pandas and elephants, things that we perceive as cute: but in the end, kill more humans than sharks do?
This amazing documentary talks about the issues with long-line fishing and bycatch. Bycatch usually used for fish caught unintentionally in a fishery while intending to catch other fish. It started off as a story just about sharks and how so many people don’t realize how amazing these creatures are.
But once Rob began his journey, it became a lot worse and a lot more scary. Who knew, that we had depleted sharks by 90% in no time. How we humans, are so wasteful and hurtful to our brothers and sisters on this planet.
People cut fins of sharks… then toss the leftovers back into the ocean. Can you say that’s humane at all? It hurt when I watched this movie. It made me cry.
You may think sharks are man-eaters, but watch this movie. Bother to learn about creatures you honestly don’t know about. Just maybe, maybe we can turn this world around and make it a better place for everyone and everything.
I’m rambling… I should stop. But <3 to the sharks. They’re amazing creatures that have helped to shape the world.
A charity I support is a local charity in my hometown called With Love From Jesus. It’s a ministry that collects clothes, shoes, food, furniture, anything you want to give or get rid of; even appliances and cars to give to needy families every day, 365 days a year. They have special drives for different occassions like school drives, christmas drives, thanksgiving, etc. They have hundreds to thousands of people show up to get help. Either these people lost their jobs, lost their house in a fire, lost everything due to husband or wife leaving, etc. I’ve donated and worked at this charity and it’s amazing the people who come through with nothing and still have a smile on their face. They are thankful for anything and everything they recieve. We take so much for granted and sometimes lack the appreciation for everything that we have been blessed with. It truly is a humbling experience!
My favorite charuty is the FAO, the agency that leads international efforts to defeat hunger. I think it’s one of my favorite because of it’s importance, even thought hunger is diffused in many country, this association is “fighiting” to delete it from everywhere and have a world full of people who can eat normally whenever and wherever.
now iìm pretty young ma in the future i’d like to take part in some initiatives to bring my support and all my efforts to help people who still suffer hunger!
ps. sorry for my bad language i’m italian
)
One of my favorite charitable organizations would be Habitat for Humanity..Having spent more than 9 years in the Philippines I know the dire situations people face with poor living conditions. This organization really lets you get down and dirty helping to build new housing for those affected by poverty or natural disasters..I really get a feel of helping other people in need..The people you meet tell their stories, and their struggles make me thankful for all the things I have in my life and giving back gives me a sense of accomplishment that I can make a difference..and that everyone needs a solid foundation to stand on.. =)
my fave charity is for St. Jude because they do so much for so many kids. they give kids a second chance at life! the never turn away a sick child, no matter if the family cannot pay for treatment. the world is a better place bc of st. jude and i love it!
My favorite charity is probably the Orphan Grain Train. My family and home church have worked closely with it for years, and it’s for a great cause. They gather clothes, medical supplies, and other essential items and ship them to countries in need. They also work as a relief effort after natural disasters and help rebuild communities. OGT deserves support, as it often goes unnoticed. Its work, however, has touched many lives and brought people together throughout the world.
My favorite charity is the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) for the reason being that they love and protect animals like I do. I’m currently a student at Penn State University studying veterinary medicine and minoring in animal law so that, one day, I can help and care for animals and bring animal abusers to the justice they deserve. I know it would be difficult for me to do on my own, but with my involvement and upkeep with everything ASPCA, I feel I have become more educated on how important my role as an individual is in caring for God’s creatures. A lot of the time, animal related charities get overlooked in the big picture. Now, I’m not saying they should come before any other charity out there (after all, we all have our specific reasons for choosing the charities we support), but as far as the rising numbers in animal cruelty cases go, it’s time everyone becomes proactive in loving and protecting the animals that we share this Earth with! I encourage everyone to adopt their next pet, instead of buying them from a pet store or breeder, and it’s easy enough for everyone to do too. Become educated on everything ASPCA by visiting their site and reading some of their articles: ASPCA.org. Since animals cannot speak, WE ARE THEIR VOICE.
I think a very important charity is Make A Wish Foundation because it helps children fulfill their wishes. I have an extremely soft spot for children because I come from a large family and I just love kids. They have an innocence to them and they are just full of life. They should not be affected by life threatening conditions because they have not lived life yet. They are soo precious and innocent; they should be able to live life without any worries about their health. Make A Wish grants a wish to a child with a medical condition and that makes their life. I think it’s such a great organization because a couple of hours or days it takes them to make a wish possible makes a HUGE difference in a child’s life. They are on top of the world for God knows how long. I just can’t stress enough how much it means to a child to make the impossible possible and the Make A Wish Foundation does that. Children are so pure and genuine that they deserve the world, especially if their life is threatened by something they couldn’t have prevented.
Doctors Without Borders (MSF) is a non-profit organization that I have supported for years. It was created in France as Medicins Sans Frontieres by doctors and reporters. This organization travels to many conflict stricken countries to provide quality medical aid to thousands of refugees. What captivates me even more and also sets this organization apart from other similar ones is that not only are they a government neutral organization but the more than 30,000 individuals assissting patiants worldwide represent dozens of different backgrounds. People should support this organization at http://www.doctorswithoutborders.org donate, tell a friend or maybe two. Be the person that helped to get aid for someone a half a world away!
I respect Jenna for standing up and supporting what she believes in. I believe in going green, I was truely meant to support Earth Day (my birthday). There are so many ways you can help the Earth become a better place, recycling, planting trees, car-pooling.
There is a chance everyday to make a difference.
My favorite charity is Invisible Children. This charity supports the men, women and children of Uganda in Africa. The country of Uganda has been faced with a war that has lasted over 20 years and has left tens of thousands of people dead. Children are left without parents, parents have lost their children. It’s an unbelievably sad situation. Invisible Children came to my high school when I was a Junior, and their organization has forever changed my life. People don’t really realize what they have until it is taken away from them. These people have lost their families, their homes, and not only that, the children of Uganda are forced to fight for the LRA (Lords Resistance Army), that is, if they aren’t killed by the LRA. The LRA is an army that has single handedly slaughtered thousands of people of Uganda. And to this day people continue to die. I couldn’t imagine losing my family, and these kids and their families watch their families die in front of them. Invisible Children sets out to give the people of Uganda better lives. Better educations so they can become doctors or lawyers to help their own people. I’ve not only grown to support Invisible Children, but many other charities as well. It’s hard to just pick one cause to support, when there are so many things in this world that need our help and our support. By supporting this cause, you can help change the lives of millions of people.
Party like its 1975! yeuh.
My Favorite charity is called All Heart Pet Rescue a non-profit organization I volunteer at when I can, that rescues unloved and underappreciated dogs and cats. The owner has been in dier need of volunteers and supplies and my mother and I have volunteered at special events that have raised money to help. Even though she is in dier need of help the owner still takes in more animals when they are surrendered or found.
Recently I posted on PTL (http://migre.me/VfKs) about a charity that I really like and support. They´re called here in Brazil of “Doutores da Alegria” and their work is like that one showed on Patch Adam´s movie. They make visits to children on hospitals and do the happiest party just in order to get some smiles. Is an amazing work that deserves our attention and support, undoubtely! You can know more about these clowns on their website: http://www.doutoresdaalegria.com.br.
My fav charity is http://www.stopdogfighting.net and all charities which protects animals ’cause every animal needs help, they r helpless. Dogs are the best friends ever. My dog dies last year and I still miss him and cry by thinking of him. I’ll never find a friend like this again. And all animals are helpless and deserve a wonderful life. We have to stop everyone who violates animals!! Dogs, cats, birds, whales whatever…!
My favorite charity organization is definitely GREENPEACE because is just a great way to help our animals and nature on the planet. Everyone should join them; they do an amazing work for the environment and helping to stop hunting whales.
Earth needs changes and action to save her; doing a little donation to this foundation we are doing a mayor solution to all this problems on our planet. We not see what we are doing for our world but the next generations would see it and they maybe will not be enabled to do something to fix what we destroyed.
I love Greenpeace, all we need is go GREEN and bring PEACE to the world
Xoxo, thanks for the contest….you’re supporting a beautiful cause like PETA.
.
I like Charities like the WWF, ASPCA, and PETA because they try and help protect the animals and the environment and even the in endangered species from being harmed or killed. People forget the an animal is a living thing, it has a heart, it can reproduce just like us. It’s not okayy to kill someone, so it sh0uldnt be okayy to kill animals, and these organizations help to try to stop tht. Jenna is right to support such a great cause because it is heart breaking to watch animals tht are not even dead yet get ripped of their liveliness. So support these great organizations because Jenna did and i bet she bring alot a awareness to the great cause she did it for.Its up to us too put a stop to all the animal cruelty (:
I think that everyone should support the charity : Habitat For Humanity. Everyone deserves a nice home; imagine not having shelter or a place to live; imagine having to sleep on the streets every single night. Unfortunately, millions of Americans actually live this life. Habitat For Humanity uses 84.9% of the money raised on homes for the needy.
Please visit http://www.habitat.org/ for more info and help those who don’t have a place to come home to every night.
Keep up the good work Jenna!
The Lift Up Foundation (formerly Lift Up Ellie)~ Please help to find a cure for pediatric cancer!! Below is a link to the website which contains a very powerful journal from the Mother of a young twin who just lost her battle with a rare cancer (Rhabdomyosarcoma). If you read this journal, you will get a peek into what being a “cancer parent” is really all about. I cannot fathom going through what this family went through for 2 years!! Amy, the Mother, is such an inspiration to so many people!! Just please read the last few entries into the journal, you will see for yourself!! WE MUST FIND A CURE!!!!
http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/elliepotvin/journal
I feel that the “make a wish foundation” charity organization speaks out to me the most. I’m sure all of us had dreams when we were little, but unfortunately not all of us are given a chance to pursue that dream. Not only do we deserve a chance to dream and wish for things, but all those children with life threatening medical conditions do too. I feel very fortunate to have the materials i need to accomplish my goal in succeeding in life. I hope that everyone does contribute to this charity because we all deserve to dream.
This is great, Jenna!
There are 24,000 children that die every day from preventable causes. Working in over 150 countries, UNICEF (United Nations Children’s Fund) provides children with clean water, health care, education, protection, nutrition, emergency relief, and several other beneficial factors. The U.S. Fund for UNICEF supports UNICEF’s work through advocacy, education, and fundraising. UNICEF’s mission is to do whatever it takes to make the number of deaths zero, by giving children the essentials that are needed for a healthy and safe childhood. What makes UNICEF so inimitable is that it has saved more children’s lives than any other humanitarian organization. I believe that UNICEF is the determination and motivation that helps to build a world where the rights of every child are recognized. This makes UNICEF unique among world organizations and those working with the young as well. UNICEF was created to work with others to overcome the hardships that violence, poverty, disease, and discrimination place in a child’s course. The following examples stating what UNICEF is all about are why I believe it to be my favorite charity organization. UNICEF advocates providing children the best possible start in life because proper care at the youngest age creates the strongest foundation for a person’s future. It promotes girls’ education because girls who are educated grow up to become better parents to their own children. It acts so that all children are immunized against ordinary childhood diseases, and are well nourished, because it is not right for a child to die or suffer from a preventable illness. UNICEF also works to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS among young people because keeping them from harm and enable them to protect others is the right thing to do. It helps and allows children and families affected by HIV/AIDS to live their lives with eminence. Also, UNICEF involves everyone in constructing protective environments for children because no child should be divulged to violence, abuse, or exploitation. Along with this, UNICEF works to assure equality for those who are discriminated against women. UNICEF strives for peace, security, and works to hold everyone accountable to the promises that are made for children. Overall, I feel that everyone should support UNICEF because it is a notable charity organization that allows everyone to get involved with. Without UNICEF, many children would not be saved each day. This charity organization has helped myself to realize that I can be a part of something meritorious and help children in need. Having this said, it has also allowed myself think about the less fortunate and how I should not take things for granted. UNICEF is what the world needs to help save many lives of innocent children. Children are the future. Believe in zero.
To learn more about UNICEF and how it works, please take the time to watch the life-changing video that I have listed below.
Video about UNICEF (For Every Child): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mmy9MpwyKnQ&feature=channel
Also, if you go onto Google and type in “UNICEF,” you will find links to many cool pages on UNICEF’s website. You will be able to watch videos such as “Getting Closer to Zero,” donate money to UNICEF, shop UNICEF, and even learn how to get involved and become a volunteer worker!
Thank you so much for all of the support!
its a great way were kids cant have independence because of what they have ridding horse give that to them and they to learn to be confident in them-self its so good to see them grow every time they get on the horse
My favorite charity is Angels for Animals Rescue League in Elida, Ohio. They have been in operation for almost 10 years now and mainly rescue dogs that are unwanted from their owners. They also rescue from other shelters where dogs will be euthanized and from puppy mills; where the Amish breed the dogs and sell them to mills. If they don’t make them money, they will kill them. That’s where Angels’ steps in. Angels also runs a spay/neuter clinic open to the public, who would otherwise not be able to afford to get their animals fixed. Jenna’s mother, Nancy, adopted a Pomeranian from us in April and we FULLY support every thing that Jenna + Chan do! They already have print-outs of Jenna’s PETA ad in our lobby. They adopt and save 700+ animals a year!
My favorite charity is WWF. They work in over 100 different countries to help protect nature and wildlife. Their goal is by 2020 they hope to have conserve 19 of the worlds most important natural places. They are a very important organization right now especially with the oil spill going on. They work to save the animals and other natural organisms being harmed by the oil. I love wildlife and nature and i think it is very important to protect it. WWF does a great job of getting involved and trying to make a difference in the world.
The charity I support is http://www.petsmartcharities.org I love supporting animals in need! I hate seeing them in cages but it nice to know there are places out there supporting there health and well being.
We should support and care for the world’s animals! Humankind can be the biggest parasite on earth!
So I like PETA, WWF but also the small ones like ‘Tiertafel.de’ which is an organisation that cares for the animals of people who are too poor to buy them food or pay the vet!
Best wishes
Jasmin
I love supporting Wounded Warrior foundation. Help soldiers and their family with any and everything they need. They need to always know that they are heros and their are so many resources out here for them.We should never forget what they do for our county!!!
I am a self-proclaimed bibliophile. I can’t live without books. And I know that Jenna is an avid reader, too, since she always tweets about good books we should check out. But the thing is, not every person has the priviledge of getting to read books. My favourite singer, Tyler Hilton has organised a non-profit public benefit corporation for the charitable purpose of providing books for children who may not otherwise have access to a wide variety of appropriate reading material. I hate to admit this, but Tyler Hilton isn’t that famous, compare to other singers like Taylor Swift (whom he has collaborated with before) or Justin Bieber, so this organization isn’t that well-known. Here’s the link to the site http://www.thbooksforkids.org/ I hope that I can get the word out about this amazing organization. =)
There are many charity organizations my family and I support.
All 3 of my boys have attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. This is often accompanied with learning disabilities and oppositional defiance disorder. With so many children being diagnosed each year, you have to wonder what is going on and why are so many children being affected. The medications to treat ADHD are stimulants that lead to sleeplessness and weight loss. National Add Assoc link is http://www.add.org
Another organization we often associate with is for asthma. All four of my children including myself suffer from this. Again, it is a condition that is on the rise in children. The medications they use to treat asthma are steriods which have numerous side effects. My one son has broken at least one broken bone each year due to steriod drugs causing osteoporosis. (He is 8 years old). We like asthma foundation.org.au
Last but not least, we support The American Cancer Society. Six years ago, my mom passed away from lung cancer that spread to brain cancer. Watching her fight the disease for 4 years is nothing I ever want to see again. I was 26 years old when she was diagnosed and my younger 2 children will never know how great my Mom was. One year later, my father passed away from prostate cancer.
The most heartbreaking thing is watching my daughter’s best friend fight her cancer. She goes to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOPs) to receive chemo and radiation to shrink a tumor in her sinuses. She has undergone blood transfusions and eats through a feeding tube. She can no longer go to school, She will receive chemo through the month of October and she is only 11 years old
I would have to say that my favortie organization to give to is the Marianist Family Retreat Center in Cape May, NJ. Throughout the year, the center holds retreats for families, widows, teens, and other individuals so they can come together and share their faith with those around them. The best part about the Center is that you don’t have to be a Christian to attend, you just need to accept all those around you. The Center is staffed by the most amazing people who literally dedicate their lives to their work and create the most comforting and nurturing place. I’ve been attending retreats at the Center since I was 15 years old and I have even started volunteering to staff at some of their retreats throughout the year. It’s truly an amazing place for everyone who knows it….
My favorite charity is St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. I always just think, I know adults that die from this, and it hurts me even more to think that children are suffering from this and aren’t nearly as strong as adults.
The link I am posting is the cancer survival rate of St. Jude. http://www.stjude.org/stjude/v/index.jsp?vgnextoid=5b25e64c5b470110VgnVCM1000001e0215acRCRD&vgnextchannel=4bbafe08dc835110VgnVCM1000001e0215acRCRD
I think it is very important to raise money for St. Jude because it cost St. Jude over $1 million to run it a day and over $500 million a year to run. With a really good cancer survival rate i think that it is worth it for them to stay open!
My favourite charity is World Vision because it sponsers and helps people much less fortunate than us and helps them to try and create some part of an enjoyable life. Famous world leaders and philosophers have continously said over hundreds of years that the world should have a form of equality in it. This charity makes such an amazing effort in helping people get what they deserve. To be treated equally as fortunately as we do. Get proper healthcare. food. clothes. Necessities in life. Even the smallest donation makes a massive difference especially in people who live in developing countries.
My favorite charity is PETA ! Their work to protect all animals is extremely valuable and necessary in the world we live in but it is the work they do to try and save all of the baby seals killed each year in seal clubbing that really touches my heart! Support PETA! Congrats Jenna
As a cancer survivor, I support all cancer charity organizations, but the one that means the most to me is The Light of Life Foundation http://checkyourneck.com/. When I was sixteen I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer, and it completely changed my life. I’ve learned to focus my time and energy on things I love and become more passionate about those things. The Light of Life Foundation strives to improve the quality of life for thyroid cancer patients through educating the public, and by promoting research that will improve thyroid cancer care. There are over 350,000 thyroid cancer patients in the U.S. today, across every age group, gender, and race. Thyroid cancer can affect anyone so it’s extremely important that everyone be aware of it. I have been cancer-free for a year and a half. I owe it all to my doctors and the support from my friends and family.
My favorite charity is St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. I know every charity have your “own” mean.. But… St Jude Children’s is the one that really means a lot to me.. And should for every one.. We never know when our own kid can have a cancer.. And can you imagine a mom that have her kid with cancer how she suffer without enough money to help her own child.. and they really help kids.. Like i said every charity means something.. don’t take me wrong.. but when you work for save life.. and specially when you save kids life.. i think that means more than anything.. B’cause kids are “gift of God” and they mean life. Thats why they are my favorite charity.
Sorry if i wrote wrong.. but i’m not american.. so was little hard for me to write all this in English.
Best wishes.
Aline
Friends of the Earth has to be up there with one of my favorite charities. We all are responsible for this earth and everything on it and it’s about time we take it a little more seriously. Me being the granola nut that I am think that it’s about time we pay more attention to our surroundings to make a cleaner more efficient future.
In my school we have been following “Invisible Children” http://www.invisiblechildren.com/home.php#0 and i believe it’s a great movement. This is a movement seeking to end the conflict in Uganda and stop the abduction of children for use as child soldiers. These kids are taken away from there families and are brainwashed. I feel it’s a great charity, me and my school have been donated here for awhile and every year we send a couple people from our school over to Uganda and they come back different people. It’s sad to see how kids are taken advantaged of like this and I want it to end. If you guys are interested in this, PLEASE watch this Documentary. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=3166797753930210643#
My chosen charity is Labrador Rescue South East and Central (UK) Many Labradors amoung other breeds for whatever reason needs rehoming every year. This charity focuses purely on Labradors and relys fully on donations from people such as ourselves. The time, love, effort and care that is put into looking after these dogs is imense. Even when there is no hope we carry on fighting for them, hoping that their is someone out there to adopt them. I myelf have taken part in rehabilitating and rehoming these labradors, and the joy that comes from that is enough for me.

I love animals and feel that animal rights is very important thing to stand for. In my homecountry we have an organization called Animalia which I support. I also appreciate PETA’s and Humane Society’s work.
My favorite charity is The Angela Shelton Foundation (http://angelashelton.org). It’s purpose is to inspire and empower all survivors of abuse to heal and lead joyful lives. For my life, it’s done just that! Everyone should support it because it’s an organization that helps saves, touches, and transforms lives.
I think this PETA campaign is great, they are a great organization and the welfare of animals is very important.
I have a few favorite charities. One of them is Best Friends Animal Society and Sanctuary. They take in unwanted, abused, ill, etc pets that no else would care for. Just like humans animals have the right to have a warm home and food in their bellies. Best Friends is a great haven for these pets.

I love the PETA campaign but I will have to say my favorite charity is the Humane Society and the work they do to help bring animals out of harmful situations and allow them to be adopted out by family who know how to care, treat, and respect all animals.
I have two. My 1st favorite charity is German Shepherd Rescue of Orange County. http://www.gsroc.org. I believe these are amazing volunteers that go above and beyond being a volunteer to save as many German Shepherds as possible. They just recently saved a gsd “Courage” that was almost at deaths door. This dog was eating dirt is was so hungry and neglected. The cruelty was broadcast on many local news channels. GS Rescue stepped in and saved this dog and are making sure the owner is getting the appropriate punishment for cruelity. My 2nd is the Pacific Marine Mammal Center in Laguna Beach. pacificmmc.org They save sea lions & seals that are subject to the harsh waters that people find all to easy to pollute. These folks have saved so many wonderful little seals and sea lions. For a small org they are so strong in their work ethic and dedication to our marine life.
I actually have several favorite charities. One of them is Unicef, because children is our future, how can anyone watch a child suffer and not wanna help?
Another amazing charity is charitywater.org, which helps bringing clean and safe drinking water to people in developing nations. Could you imagine that you’d have to drink dirty water? Why then anyone should?
Than WWF and Peta, they do such an amazing job helping animals. Can’t understand people who hurt animals in the first place. + there are so many animals who needs to be adopted and their spreading/helping all over the world, which is awesome.
I think that it is very important not to stick with just one charity, even if you can’t support them with donations, you can help spread news about them. I like very many charities and try to support them as i can, everyone should. Sometimes it’s even not a charity, just someone who needs help, every little bit helps.
I support a couple of not so well known animal rescues. K9Kokua.org is a rescue organization on the island of Oahu. They help anyone and everyone but mostly they help the homeless on the beaches with their animals. They are huge advocates for bully’s. (pitbulls) They do so much and such a little budget. I have a lot of respect and love for those people.
My second group that I really like to support is Blind Cat animal rescue in North Carolina. I’ve never been to their facility but I follow them on Facebook. They help all the kitties who are blind and/or sight disabilites. They are awesome! Otherwise these kitties wouldn’t have homes and would be euthanized.
My favorite charity is the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). There mission is to protect natural areas and wild populations of plants and animals around the world, especially endangered species. You can adopt species or just donate in general and that money is used for general support of WWF’s efforts around the world. 82 cents of every donated dollar goes toward conservation. I believe it’s important for people to support the WWF because we need to remember that we are not the only ones living on this planet. If animals and our environment keep disappearing, what’s to say that humans won’t be next? You can find more information at their website here: http://www.worldwildlife.org

Hi!
My favorite charity is the American Cancer Society. This is my most supported charity because pretty much everyone I know has been affected by cancer in some way. I have lost many friends and relatives to cancer and I want to help get a cure. Everyone should support this charity because at some time in your life you will be faced with this. It may be you, your friend, or a family member. We all need to work together to help find a cure for cancer!
