NEWS FLASH: Channing Tatum’s Comedy with Vince Vaughn Settles on ‘The Dilemma’
July 31, 2010
There’s tons of reasons why movies may change names before they hit the theaters. I don’t know what spurred on the latest change for Channing Tatum’s upcoming comedy, but according to ChicagoTribune.com, the film has yet another new name…
Earlier this month, I reported that Chan’s comedy, previously known by its working title ‘Cheaters,’ had finally gotten the official name ‘What You Don’t Know‘. The Chicago Tribune is now reporting that the film has been renamed to ‘The Dilemma‘.
Regardless of the name changes, the cast and plot of the film are still the same. In addition to Chan, Vince Vaughn, and Kevin James, the star-studded ‘Dilemma‘ cast also includes Winona Ryder, Jennifer Connelly and Queen Latifah. The movie is about a man (Vaughn) who finds out his best friend’s wife (Ryder) is cheating on him (James), only to struggle with what to do with the knowledge, and Chan plays Ryder’s tattooed and pierced lover.
‘The Dilemma‘ is produced by Vince Vaughn and Brian Grazer and Ron Howard’s Imagine Entertainment. The movie started filming in Chicago on May 25th, will wrap up filming around August 6th, and currently has a January 14, 2011 release date from Universal.

UNWRAPPED PHOTOS: Inside Channing Tatum’s NYC Birthday Party
July 30, 2010
Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan-Tatum spent his 30th birthday on April 26th walking the red carpet at the premiere of their political documentary ‘Earth Made of Glass‘ and dining with Robert De Niro and the President of Rwanda at the Tribeca Film Festival. Not too shabby, but definitely a more subdued crowd (especially with a very intimidating crew of government-issued Secret Service men sitting 2 feet away).
A couple of days earlier, Chan and Jenna cut loose at a private birthday party with their close friends at the Macao Trading Company in the Tribeca area of New York City. They had a ton of fun and Jenna told me that she surprised Chan by flying in some of his closest friends.
Chan also invited the entire cast and crew of his movie ‘Son of No One‘, which he was filming in New York at the time. When I went to work with Chan a few days later, the party was still the talk of the set. One crew member in particular even baked Chan chocolate chip cookies as a thank you gift (which he tore into on our short car ride back to the hotel after filming wrapped) and told me how much she truly appreciated the fact he would include the crew in all of the festivities.
On today’s post in the CTU Photo Gallery, we have new pics from inside the party thanks to fan site Channing-T.com. You guys can CLICK HERE or on the image below to check out some really cute photos of the happy couple having fun at the party with friends Nick Zano, Haylie Duff, Reid Carolin, Adam Martingano, and more! Enjoy!
One day soon, I’ll share all of the details on my ‘Son of No One‘ set visit. I had an AMAZING time, and I got some really great pics of Chan and Jenna, so stay tuned!!!

IN THE PRESS: Channing Tatum Makes Men’s Health Magazine’s Top 10 Best Summer Bodies of 2010 List
July 25, 2010
Beating out Ryan Kwanten from HBO’s True Blood, David Beckam, Hugh Jackman, Paul Walker, Josh Duhamel, Ryan Phillippe, Bradley Cooper and more, Channing Tatum has made it into the top ten of Men’s Health Magazine’s Best Summer Bodies of 2010.
The editors of MensHealth.com set out to find the stars with the perfect beach body. David Zinczenko, editor-in-chief of the popular mag, said…
“All of this year’s finalists have a deep commitment to working out, staying fit and eating smart. They have a variety of workout regimes from boxing to weight training, kayaking and hiking to training for marathons. They’ve worked hard to achieve and maintain their amazing bodies - which is why they’ve earned their place on this year’s list.”
Without further ado, here’s the top 10 list for Men’s Health magazine’s Best Summer Bodies:
2. Matthew McConaughey
3. Taylor Lautner
4. Zac Efron
5. Mario Lopez
6. Isaiah Mustafa
7. Mark Sanchez
8. Jake Gyllenhaal
9. Daniel Craig
10. Channing Tatum
And here’s what the mag had to say about why they picked Chan for this year’s list…
“Perhaps it’s no wonder Channing Tatum made our list of the Best Summer Bodies. It seems Men’s Health discovered him way back in 2000. Well, sort of. Turns out, Tatum’s first runway show as a fashion model—before he became an actor—was actually for a Men’s Health event. Since then, he’s been seen in movies, such as G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra and Dear John, and his physique continues to impress.”
Both Channing Tatum and wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum have been featured in the press a lot lately. Here’s a few of the latest articles from OK Magazine, People, and US Weekly (all can be found in the CTU Photo Gallery)…

Yahoo Movies Picks Channing Tatum’s ‘Dear John’ for BEST KISS
July 23, 2010
Yahoo Movies took a look at some of the best movies of the year so far, and they have picked Channing Tatum and Amanda Seyfried’s rain-soaked lip lock in ‘Dear John‘ as the winner in their “Best Kiss” category.
If you’ve seen it, then I’m sure you understand why. Here’s what Yahoo had to say about why Chan and Amanda’s kiss is the clear winner…
“…the first kiss shared by stars Amanda Seyfried and Channing Tatum, who portray Savannah and John, a college student and a young Army sergeant who fall madly in love with one another over spring break. A few days before John returns to base and deploys for the Middle East, he and Savannah realize that they’re meant to be together once he visits her at her volunteer worksite. When the sky opens and heavy rains begin to soak them, they seek shelter in each other’s arms, and before you know it, they’re entangled in a passionate embrace and share one of Hollywood’s most romantic kisses.”
Fans didn’t get a vote in Yahoo’s contest, BUT you do get to vote every day through August 6th for Chan and Amanda for this year’s Teen Choice Awards.

NEWS FLASH: Sony and Screen Gems Make a ‘Vow’ to Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams
July 21, 2010
Last month, I gave you guys all of the details on Channing Tatum’s next romantic drama. It’s called ‘The Vow‘ and is based on a true story about a young woman (played by ‘The Notebook’s Rachel McAdams) who loses all recent memory in a car accident and struggles to rebuild her identity.
Deadline Hollywood is exclusively reporting that Screen Gems Studios (a Sony-based shingle) will co-finance with Spyglass Entertainment and will also distribute the Michael Sucsy-directed film. Spyglass’ Roger Birnbaum, Gary Barber, and Jonathan Glickman are producing ‘The Vow,’ and Sucsy, who directed HBO’s award-winning film ‘Grey Gardens’, is rewriting the script.
Deadline also confirms that the production will start filming in Toronto, Canada in September.
‘The Vow‘ is the real-life story of Arizona couple Kim and Krickitt Carpenter, which is chronicled in a book called “The Vow: The Kim and Krickitt Carpenter Story‘ and dates from 1993, two months after their marriage, when their car was hit from behind by a truck.
Here’s a description of the book that the film is based on…
“Life as Kim and Krickitt Carpenter knew it was shattered beyond recognition on November 24, 1993, two months after their marriage, when their Ford Escort was hit from behind by a fast-moving truck. A massive head injury left Krickitt in a coma for weeks. When she finally emerged from the coma, she recognized her parents and everyone else — but she didn’t know Kim. She had no idea who he was. The ‘Krickitt’ Kim had married essentially died in the accident. The Vow is the true tale of the reconstruction of two lives and a marriage after an event so shattering that most others would have parted ways long ago. Though it was not easy, and it tested every fiber of who they were, Kim and Krickitt fell in love all over again.”
Chan’s highly successful romantic drama, ‘Dear John,’ exceeded Sony and Screen Gems’ expectations by making over $30 million opening weekend, over $80 million domestically, and over $112 million worldwide since this year’s February 5th theatrical release. On top of all of that, the film was the first to knock juggernaut ‘Avatar‘ out of it’s #1 box office spot and topped DVD, Blu-ray, and On Demand sales when it debuted on May 25th.
With that kind of history, the fact that Sony and Screen Gems decided to also get behind ‘The Vow‘ doesn’t surprise me one bit!
