The pics above show Channing Tatum pretending to be a baseball player in a shoot he did with celebrity photographer Walter Chin for l’Uomo Vogue back in Chan’s modeling days. Fast forward to 2010 and throwing a pitch at an actual major league baseball game is about to become the actor’s reality.
As I’ve mentioned, Chan is currently filming Ron Howard’s comedy ‘Cheaters‘ in Chicago with Vince Vaughn, Kevin James, Winona Ryder, Jennifer Connelly and Queen Latifah, and CTU just EXCLUSIVELY found out that Chan will be throwing out the opening pitch at the Cubs vs. LA Angels game this Saturday (June 19, 2010).
The game is at Wrigley Field and starts at 12:05PM Central. Fans can CLICK HERE to buy tickets. If you’re not able to get tickets or don’t live in the Chicago area, you can watch the game on WGN starting at 12:00PM Central. I’m hoping they will show the opening pitch on the telecast. Fans can check your local listings to confirm show times and availability in your area.
As a former childhood baseball player, I’m sure Chan has got to be pretty stoked to have an opportunity like this! And on a related note, wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum (whose sexy, new PETA campaign will be released on July 12th) is heading to Chicago soon to visit Chan on set, so hopefully she’ll get to hang around long enough to watch the game too.
As always, stay tuned to CTU, and I’ll post any pics and/or video from the game I can track down or get Chan and Jenna to send me!
