AS SEEN ON TV: Watch Jenna Dewan’s ‘Fab Five: The Texas Cheerleader Scandal’ on Lifetime

December 30, 2008

Lifetime Television had their viewers vote on their favorite movies from 2008, and they are replaying the top 8 movies tomorrow.

After one of Lifetime’s strongest movie premieres in years, it’s no surprise that Jenna Dewan’s drama “Fab Five: The Texas Cheerleader Scandal” ranks at #3 on their Top Movies of 2008 list, so fans will now get another opportunity to see the film.

The real-life story, which also stars Tatum O’Neal (”Rescue Me”, “Wicked Wicked Games”, ‘Paper Moon’) and Ashley Benson (”Days of Our Lives”,’Bring It On: In It to Win It’), is about a group of mean girl cheerleaders nicknamed the “Fab Five”. The girls ran their Texas high school and lived to break the rules until a new coach named Emma Carr (played by Jenna Dewan) tried to turn them around.

Fans can check out movie stills with Jenna in the Channing Tatum Unwrapped Photo Gallery and can watch the movie’s trailer below…

You can also click on the links below to watch more videos that Lifetime released for the film. You will learn more about the movie through interviews with Jenna, the rest of the cast and crew, and the real people who were involved in the scandal:

  • These Teens Ruled The School: One coach tries to stop some out-of-control cheerleaders in this shocking true story.
  • Girls Gone Bad: The “Fab Five: The Texas Cheerleader Scandal” is about teens who crossed the line.
  • Wild, Young and Craving Fame: In this scene from “Fab Five: The Texas Cheerleader Scandal” these girls get attention for all the wrong reasons.

Since it’s not re-played very often, fans are constantly asking where they can see this film and if its available for free online. The movie has not been released online as far as I know, so don’t miss Jenna Dewan’sFab Five: The Texas Cheerleader Scandal” when it plays again tomorrow, Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at 6 pm ET/PT (aka 5 pm CT) on Lifetime Television.

Fans can also go to MyLifetime.com to get even more info on the movie.

NEWS FLASH: More Books Released for Channing Tatum’s ‘G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra’

December 29, 2008

New Books Featuring Channing Tatum's Character Conrad "Duke" Hauser from 'G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra'

In a previous post, I let you all know about five new books that are going to be released for Channing Tatum’s upcoming live-action film ‘G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra‘.

Today, I have two more books that I found on G.I. Joe fan site Hisstank.com. Like before, the books are currently available for pre-order and also feature Channing’s character in the film, Sergeant Conrad “Duke” Hauser.

Here are the links to the books on Amazon.com and descriptions that explain what they’re all about:

Destro's Plan (G.I. Joe Movie - Paperback)DESTRO’S PLAN (G.I. JOE MOVIE)

While on a mission to transport a case of nuclear warheads, Duke and Ripcord’s Special Forces unit is ambushed by COBRA, a secret terrorist cell. Duke soon realizes his long-lost love, the Baroness (also known as Ana) headed up the ambush, but before he can do anything, General Hawk’s team of JOES shows up and sends the entire COBRA team packing.

Duke and Ripcord follow the JOES back to their base, the Pit, where they are briefed on what the JOES know. Duke insists on joining the JOES to complete the warhead transport and expose COBRA’s ultimate plan to set off the warheads in four major European cities. This Level 3 Ready-to-Read story will feature the enemy of the G.I. JOE team, Destro McCullen.

Knowing Is Half the Battle! (G.I. Joe Movie - Paperback)KNOWING IS HALF THE BATTLE! (G.I. JOE MOVIE)

Go, JOE! The G.I. JOE team is ready for action in a brand new motion picture from Paramount Pictures and Hasbro, set to hit theaters August 7, 2009! This 64-paged paperback with poster is a kid-friendly book of survival skills.

Want to know how to talk your way out of an embarrassing situation? Or how to graduate from college when you’re twelve? Or maybe you want to learn how to be the greatest ninja in the world? Members of the elite G.I. Joe and Cobra teams have all the answers to these questions, and much more. This survival handbook contains advice from from the good guys like Duke and Ripcord, and the bad guys like Storm Shadow and Destro, on everything that middle-grade readers would find useful. After all, knowing is half the battle!

I also have a quick trivia question for all of you. Often, movies have different names in different countries. Can anyone tell me what ‘G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra’ is going to be called in France?

If you know the answer, you can show your movie smarts and share it with the rest of the readers by leaving it as a comment on this post. Although I’m sure this will be an easy one for you all…If there is no answer posted in a couple of days, I’ll post the answer.

In the end, I chose longtime reader Mikey to create three new headers so I would have a few options. He did such a great job that I’m having a really hard time choosing which one I want to use for 2009, so I need your help. Below you will find a poll where you can choose one of the three possible headers. If you click on each image, you can view a larger version of each header before you vote.

If the poll does not display above for some reason, you can CLICK HERE to view it. Please cast your vote for your favorite header and check back on New Year’s Day to see which header won. Thanks in advance for your help!!!

NEWS FLASH: New International Release Dates for Channing Tatum’s ‘Fighting’

December 25, 2008

Channing Tatum in 'Fighting' - WallpaperI have tons of new release dates to share with you all for Channing Tatum’s upcoming action film ‘Fighting‘, which is the first of four films fans will get to see him in in 2009.

The film is set to have an April 24, 2009 theatrical release in the US (a couple of days before Channing’s 29th birthday). Through my research, I was excited to confirm that ‘Fighting‘ will have a wide release all around the world, so I’m happy to say that many CTU readers should get an opportunity to see this film.

As always, the dates below are subject to change (and they often do) and I’m sure more countries will be added as the initial release approaches, but for now, here are the international release dates for the film:

  • France and Algeria, Monaco, Morocco and Tunisia - April 22, 2009
  • Russia - April 23, 2009
  • United States - April 24, 2009
  • Netherlands - May 21, 2009
  • Spain - May 22, 2009
  • Australia - June 11, 2009
  • Bulgaria - July 3, 2009
  • Sweden - July 10, 2009
  • Czech Republic - July 16, 2009
  • Germany and Malaysia - July 23, 2009
  • United Kingdom and Ireland and Malta - July 24, 2009

Channing plays the lead in the Dito Montiel-helmed film. The ‘Fighting cast also includes actors Luis Guzmán (’Beverly Hills Chihuahua’, ‘Nothing Like the Holidays’, ‘Yes Man’), Brian J. White (”The Shield”,’Stomp the Yard’) and Oscar-nominated actor Terrence Howard (’Iron Man’, ‘Hustle & Flow’, ‘Crash’).

I recently found the storyline for the film on Universal’s website. Fans can read it below…

Small-town boy Shawn MacArthur (Channing Tatum) has come to New York City with nothing. Barely earning a living selling counterfeit goods on the streets, his luck changes when scam artist Harvey Boarden (Terrence Howard) sees that he has a natural talent for streetfighting. When Harvey offers Shawn help at making the real cash, the two form an uneasy partnership.

As Shawn’s manager, Harvey introduces him to the corrupt bare-knuckle circuit, where rich men bet on disposable pawns. Almost overnight, he becomes a star brawler, taking down professional boxers, mixed martial arts champs and ultimate fighters in a series of staggeringly intense bouts. But if Shawn ever hopes to escape the dark world in which he’s found himself, he must now face the toughest fight of his life.

I want to thank longtime CTU reader Sergenkab for sending me the Russian release date for ‘Fighting‘, which is called ‘Бой без правил’ in Russia and means “Fight Without Rules”. Sergenkab also said that ‘Battle in Seattle‘ will be released on DVD in Russia on February 12, 2009, and ‘Public Enemies‘, which they call ‘Грабители Банков’ (aka “Bank Robbers”), is now scheduled for release in theaters on July 27, 2009.

The dates above have all been added to the CTU Calendar, and I will update them there if they change prior to the actual release of the movie in each country.
