‘JANITOR‘ is the first-ever release of original short content on Microsoft’s Xbox LIVE (XBL) and is part of their new “Horror Meets Comedy” series. The XBL original shorts are also like television shows, because they are free to watch once you download the film.
In this unique concept, the world’s greatest horror directors — James Wan (Saw, Death Sentence), David Slade (30 Days of Night, Hard Candy), James Gunn (Dawn of Dead, Slither), Lucky McKee ( May, The Woods), Andrew Douglas (The Amityville Horror), Adam Green (Hatchet), Peter Cornwell (The Haunting in Connecticut) and on-line director, John Clisham — bring their comedic visions to life.
Unlike the other film shorts that will be released the week of November 19th to help show off the HD video capabilities of the New Xbox Experience, ‘JANITOR‘ is really more of a horror than a comedy. The 9.5-minute film short profiles a young student (played by Jenna Dewan) who runs into trouble after the custodial engineer at her school undergoes a “paranormal transformation.”
John is currently working on James Cameron’s 2009 big budget, 3D sci-fi epic ‘Avatar’ , but took the time to send us some photos of Jenna on set and stills from the movie. He also shared with me why Jenna was chosen for the role and what it’s like to work with the talented actress.
“As for Jenna – she was the absolute perfect actress for this role. When we were going through the casting process, it was tough to find someone that had all the qualities the film needed. Not only is Jenna strikingly beautiful, she’s tough, and more importantly, a great actress. She worked her butt off on JANITOR – from getting dragged on the floor for 10 takes – to getting shot in the face with a blood canon; she was a trooper. She really is a natural and a pleasure to work with.”
John has also graciously offered to send us some posters for the film, so I will be giving those away to fans soon. Fans can also check out the exclusive photos that John sent below, and in case you missed it, can CLICK HERE to watch the trailer for the film. Enjoy!!!
