New ‘G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra’ Books Featuring Channing Tatum

Thanks to the G.I. Joe fan site Hisstank.com, I learned that fans can already pre-order books on Amazon.com that will be released next year for Channing Tatum’s highly-anticipated, live action film ‘G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra‘.
Below you will find a list of some of the books that are already available. The first one in the list features Channing (who plays First Sergeant Conrad “Duke” Hauser) on its cover.

On one of the books in the list I found the description below, and it gives us even more incite on the storyline for the film:
“G.I. JOE is back, only these JOES are part of an international covert force of operatives–the Global Integrated Joint Operating Entity. While on a mission to transport a case of nuclear warheads, Duke (Channing Tatum) and Ripcord (Marlon Wayans)’s Special Forces unit is ambushed by COBRA, a secret terrorist cell. Duke soon realizes his long-lost love, the Baroness (also known as Ana) headed up the ambush, but before he can do anything, General Hawk (Dennis Quaid)’s team of JOES shows up and sends the entire COBRA team packing. Duke and Ripcord follow the JOES back to their base, the Pit, where they are briefed on what the JOES know. Duke insists on joining the JOES to complete the warhead transport and expose COBRA’s ultimate plan to set off the warheads in four major European cities.”

REMINDER: Channing Tatum’s ‘Battle in Seattle’ Premieres in 4 New US Cities and on DVD Overseas

October and November have been busy months for Channing Tatum’s drama ‘Battle in Seattle‘ all around the world.
Most recently, actors Charlize Theron and Martin Henderson and director Stuart Townsend all attended the 32nd Annual Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF) in Egypt where they gave a press conference at the Sofitel El Gezirah hotel this week to promote BIS, 
which was considered to be one of the must-see films of this year’s festival.
In addition the the various US releases around the country, I have learned that the film was also released in theaters in Spain and Portugal in October and was released on DVD for the first time in the Netherlands on October 29th. ‘Battle in Seattle‘ will next be released on DVD in Finland on January 14, 2009.
Finally, although a specific release date has not been announced yet, the site Flicks.co.nz says that ‘Battle in Seattle‘ will also premiere in New Zealand some time in 2009.
I also want to remind Channing Tatum’s Fabulous Fans in Vermont, California, and Washington that the movie will be premiering in some new cities in your states this THIS WEEK!!!
Channing Tatum’s ‘Battle in Seattle’ will have a community screening at the NorthStar Center at 106 Lathrup Street in Lansing, Michigan at 7pm. A community discussion will follow the movie screening.
‘Battle in Seattle‘ is having a limited theatrical release in the following US cities this week:
- St. Johnsbury, Vermont (November 28, 2008)
- Lansing, Michigan (November 30, 2008) at Northstar Center
- San Francisco, California (December 2-3, 2008)
- Langley, Washington (December 2, 2008)
The film will be premiering in Norfolk, Virginia and New Orleans, Louisiana the following week.

In my previous post, I let you all know that there was a new article in the January 2009 issue of Empire Magazine that featured Channing Tatum’s upcoming 1930’s crime drama ‘Public Enemies‘.

‘Public Enemies‘ is helmed by Michael Mann and stars Johnny Depp, Christian Bale, Marion Cotillard, and Channing Tatum. An adaptation of Brian Burrough’s book “Public Enemies: America’s Greatest Crime Wave and the Birth of the FBI, 1933-43,” the film centers on the government’s attempt to stop John Dillinger and his gang and is set to debut in theaters July 1, 2009. The highly-anticipated trailer should be released some time next month.
IN THE PRESS: First Look at Channing Tatum’s ‘Public Enemies’ in Empire Magazine

The highly-anticipated 1930’s crime drama ‘Public Enemies‘ is directed by Michael Mann and will feature a dream cast of Johnny Depp as John Dillinger, Christian Bale as FBI agent Melvin Purvis, Oscar winner Marion Cotillard as Dillinger’s love interest Billie Frechette, and Channing Tatum as Pretty Boy Floyd (just to name a few).
Each month on the UK site for Empire Magazine, readers are able to take a peek inside the new issue before it hits the shelves. This month they’ve revealed two shots from the film in their January 2009 issue showing both Depp and Bale in character, the first official shots we have seen from the production.

REMINDER: Channing Tatum’s ‘Step Up 2: The Streets’ (aka ‘Let’s Dance 2: Street Dance’) Releases on DVD in the Czech Republic

I want to let Channing Tatum’s Fabulous Fans in the Czech Republic know that ‘Step Up 2: The Streets‘ (aka ‘Let’s Dance 2: Street Dance’) will be released on DVD in your country some time between now and December 15th!!!
This has been the hardest DVD release to pin down by far, because every Czech site I check seems to have a different release date for the DVD for some reason. So I figured that I would just put you all on red alert that the DVD will be released soon.
Czech fans can go to Filmopolis.cz to buy the DVD prior to its release, and you can get more info on the film at the Czech movie site DVDSvet.cz.
You can also check out the subtitled Czech version of the trailer in the video below:
What’s next for ‘Step Up 2: The Streets‘? The film will be released on DVD in Norway as early as December 3, 2008 or as late as December 17, 2008, depending on which website you pick.
