Favorite Channing Tatum Picture and Why?:

I LOVE this picture because he just looks so relaxed and at peace. I would imagine that he would want to be this way more often with his busy schedule these days. And I forgot the most important part, he is sooooooo handsome and has really cute toes…

Favorite Channing Tatum Movie and Why?:

‘She’s The Man‘ - Honestly, this is the first movie I ever saw Chan in. After which I went and got every other movie of course. I think for one he looked absolutely gorgeous and he portrayed a character that I think every girl dreams of being with. The shy type, yet manly. Even though he has done so many other films where he portrays a more rugged type, I think the movie shows the true sensitive side of Chan that made me fall in love with him.

Favorite Channing Tatum Scene and Why?:

There are so many it’s hard to get just one. I loved the last dance act in ‘Step Up‘. That had me on my toes, and it’s so amazing to know that Chan had really no dancing background and yet he accomplished such an amazing performance.

Favorite Channing Tatum Movie Quote and Why?:

“Some are born with greatness, some achieve greatness and some have greatness thrust upon us.” This is such a deep quote and I definitely think that all three relates to him. But it also it helps you to define yourself.

Favorite Upcoming Channing Tatum Movie and Why?:

I really want to see ‘Stop Loss‘. I’ve seen previews of this movie with Chan. His performance is amazing as usual, and I want to be able to cry with him.

Have you ever met Channing?:

Only in my dreams, but I have a lot of hope. He is the only actor I have ever been so committed to and I do believe that one day I will be able to tell him how much of an inspiration he is to me in my life.

Why are you a Fabulous Channing Tatum Fan?:

Channing is one of the few actors I have seen in my life that is so committed to the work he does, but at the same time is committed to thanking and appreciating his fans no matter who they are. He has not once made us feel that he was too busy or too high and mighty. Also, because of his loving nature he has brought so many people together and allowed me too meet so many friends [at CTU] that I absolutely adore.

Why does Channing Tatum Unwrapped think that this fan belongs in the Fab Fan Spotlight?

Liz has been an avid reader and participator in the CTU community for a really long time now. She has always shown her dedication to Chan and the site by making friends on the chat box, commenting on posts, and enthusiastically participating in any and every activity that I throw at readers. All of that and more clearly defines Liz as a Fab Fan!

NEWS FLASH: New Release Date for Channing Tatum’s ‘Fighting’

Channing Tatum’s underground street fighting drama ‘Fighting‘ was initially scheduled to release on September 26, 2008. I’m now hearing from 2 different sources that the film’s release date has been pushed out to some time in 2009. I also recently heard that they have possibly have been doing some re-shoots in the past few weeks in the New York area. All of which is leading me to believe that the release date push is accurate and we’re going to have to wait a little longer to see the film.

In ‘Fighting‘, Channing Tatum will play Shawn MacArthur, a New York counterfeit merchandise salesman (aka ticket scalper) whose life is changed after a chance encounter with veteran underground street-fighting coach, Harvey Boarden, played by Terrence Howard.

A few weeks back, the production had a test screening and fans can CLICK HERE to check out the glowing reviews the screeners gave Channing’s performance in the film.

Although we may have to wait a little longer to see Chan in ‘Fighting‘, fans can look forward to the limited release of his film ‘Battle in Seattle‘ on September 19, 2008 and Chan will also begin filming his romantic drama ‘Dear John‘ in mid-September.

IN THE PRESS: Variety Says Channing Tatum Has International Star Power

At the major Hollywood studios, there is a small list of established actors who can guarantee that a film will be made. In the foreign market, things seem to work a little differently. The actors who are now considered bankable don’t fit the normal mold, because they are newer to the industry.

Variety.com deputy editor Anne Thompson recently posted an article about the new flock of young, bankable film actors that foreign sales agents are targeting to get funding for their projects, and I’m glad to say that Channing Tatum was one of the few that made it on her short list.

Although actors like Channing may be relatively new to the scene, they have the power to get movies made in the foreign markets, because of the recognition they have earned from their shorter, but successful, list of films.

To get these projects off the ground, the foreign agents are casting up-and-coming actors with international appeal. This trend has presented a great opportunity to a slew of young actors and actresses and also means a greenlight for a lot of films that might not otherwise be made.

I keep a lot of statistics on this site, and the numbers don’t lie. After almost a million visitors to Channing Tatum Unwrapped since I started the site on January 1, 2007, I know that a little more than half of Channing’s fans are here in the US, but the rest of his fans hale from every other part of the globe. If that’s not international appeal, I don’t know what is.

I have no doubts that Chan’s current and consistently growing popularity with audiences around the world will thankfully allow us fans to see him in films for many years to come.

NEWS FLASH: Channing Tatum to Appear at 2008 Teen Choice Awards!!!

Make sure to set those Tivos, because the 2008 Teen Choice Awards has officially announced that Channing Tatum will definitely make an appearance on the upcoming show.

Fans who tune into the show will be able to see if Channing and his films win the Choice Dramatic Actor, Choice MySpacer and Choice Dramatic Movie awards.

Choice MySpacer Award nominees are even featured on the homepage of MySpace today. And don’t forget that you’re all still able to vote everyday at Teen Choice Award.com to help Channing and his films win all of the nominations.

Like shows in the past, this year’s event continues the star-studded tradition. In addition to her hosting duties, Miley Cyrus is also set to perform her new hit single “7 Things” and as previously announced, multi-platinum artist Mariah Carey will also perform her new single “I’ll Be Lovin’ You Long Time”.

As I previously posted, the epic online dance battle between Miley Cyrus’ and Mandy Jiroux’s M&M Cru and ACDC, the dance crew featuring Jon M. Chu and Adam Sevani of ‘Step Up 2: The Streets‘ is about to declare a winner when the two crews face-off at the popular award show that is broadcast to millions of viewers all over the world.

In April 2008, Chu and Sevani (Adam/Chu Dance Crew) challenged best friends Cyrus and Jiroux to a video dance battle. Since then, the competition has escalated as each crew retaliates with new dance videos that have attracted millions of fans. As promised, the M&M Cru and ACDC will battle in-person during the final showdown at this year’s Teen Choice. For those who don’t know, both Channing Tatum and his real-life girlfriend Jenna Dewan are one of the many talented members of the M&M Cru, so I hope to see both of them “duking” it out with ACDC in the highly-anticipated battle.

In a recent post, I also mentioned that I may be able to attend the event. I now know that I will be attending this year’s Teen Choice Awards, and I could not be more excited about it!!! From hopefully being able to see Chan accept his awards to seeing the final dance battle unfold, I can already say that this is going to be one of the most incredible experiences that I’ve ever had. In addition to the results, I will now be able to give you some of the inside scoop on the event after the show airs on August 4th, and I truly can’t wait!!!

Teen Choice celebrates the hottest teen icons in film, television, music, sports and fashion. The coolest stars will receive coveted Teen Choice surfboard awards when Teen Choice 2008 airs Monday, Aug. 4 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. New Photos of Jenna Dewan at the Louis Vuitton Hosted Vanity Fair Party

Today, Channing Tatum’s girlfriend Jenna Dewan kicked off Microsoft’s Xbox Live Original Content Panel and helped introduce one of her two new movie roles to fan boys and fan girls at this year’s Comic-Con comic book convention in San Diego. As I mentioned in a recent post, Jenna’s movie ‘Assorted Nightmares: The Janitor’ will be featured in an original horror-comedy series on Xbox Live this November.

A few days before (Wednesday night to be exact), it was all about style as Jenna and other starlets like Emmanuelle Chriqui, Amy Adams, Emma Roberts, and Angie Harmon attended the big Louis Vuitton hosted Vanity Fair party in Beverly Hills, California.
