Where in the World is Channing Tatum?

You’ll have to bare with me, because the title of today’s post is a bit misleading. It might actually be more appropriate for me to call it “Where in the World IS’NT Channing Tatum?”.

Thanks to JustJared.com we have photos of Johnny Depp on one of the last days of filming for Channing Tatum’s real-life crime drama ‘Public Enemies‘. You can CLICK HERE to check out even more pics. As I previously posted, Channing filmed his role as Pretty Boy Floyd way back in May before he went to Prague to complete ‘G.I. Joe‘.

Even though Chan was a part of the production, over the past weekend I know for sure that he WAS NOT at the ‘Public Enemies‘ wrap party that was held at Chicago’s West Loop hot spot Bon V.. Since Chan just returned home after wrapping his 2009 film ‘G.I. Joe‘ in the Czech Republic, he chose to get some much needed rest instead of attending the party.

Chan was in good company…Johnny Depp and Christian Bale weren’t able to make the soirée either, but co-stars Giovanni Ribisi, Stephen Dorff, and Marion Cotillard and director Michael Mann did make appearances. Although there’s rumors they may have a little more filming, we can pretty much say that ‘Public Enemies is yet another film in the proverbial can and is set for a July 1, 2009 theatrical release.

Another place where I’m fairly certain you COULD NOT find Channing this past weekend was last night’s private screening of his upcoming drama ‘Battle in Seattle‘. The exclusive screening was held at the Malibu Theater in Malibu, California and was hosted by W Magazine.

Although you may not have been able to find Chan, the party was attended by celebrities like Alexis Bledel, Charlize Theron, Stuart Townsend, Dita Von Teese, Jason Bateman, Camila Alves, Matthew McConaughey, Jennifer Carpenter and Gabrielle Reece.

‘Battle in Seattle‘ is currently scheduled for a limited release in the US on September 19, 2008, so if you want it to show in your city, don’t forget to demand it!

Since this post was a bit of a tease, thanks to my extremely reliable inside sources I can let you all know where Chan WILL be in the coming months.

Because of the possible actor’s strike, our favorite actor may try to “go ghost” (aka Chan’s term for taking a break and going under the radar) this summer since he’s had such a jam-packed filming schedule, and I have been able to confirm that he will start filming his romantic drama ‘Dear John‘ in mid-September (a film I personally can’t wait to see).

Let this be a motivator to all of Chan’s Fabulous Fans around the world…If we want to see Channing this summer, it’s important that we all continue to vote for him everyday at TeenChoiceAwards.com.

If he wins When he wins, he may just have to come out of hiding long enough to make an appearance on the TCA stage in August, so keep those votes coming!!! ;-D

BLAST FROM THE PAST: New Outtakes from Channing Tatum’s George Lange Photo Shoot for Teen People

It’s extremely rare that I run across new photos of Channing Tatum from old photo shoots, but the gorgeous photo on the left and most of the photos on this post surprisingly fit into that category.

Thanks to Jo who runs a Jenna Dewan fan site, we now have previously unreleased outtakes of Channing from his popular George Lange photo shoot for the September 2006 issue of Teen People.

Although you may have seen a couple of the photos below, I’m happy to say that majority of this blast from the past will be new to most fans. Enjoy!!!

Favorite Channing Tatum Picture and Why?:

This photo is spontaneous, simple, natural, and shows the look that I most admire in Chan.

Favorite Channing Tatum Movie and Why?:

My favorite movie is Step Up. It was because of this movie that I first started to admire Chan. His performance was excellent, and I really liked Jenna and Chan as a romantic pair. It is a sweet film that contains drama, dance, and romance, and it always leaves me wanting more.

Favorite Channing Tatum Scene and Why?:

I really liked Channing in the scene in ‘A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints‘ (Santos and Demônios) after Dito’s (Shia Labeouf) father Monty (Chazz Palminteri) has had a heart attack. When Antonio (Channing) sees the person he most admired almost dying, it was a wonderful and strong acting moment for Chan, because he showed concern, anger, and despair all at the same time. His performance shows how much talent he has. I am very anxious to see all his current and future movies.

Favorite Channing Tatum Movie Quote and Why?:

My favorite movie quote is from ‘Coach Carter‘ when Jason Lyle (Channing) sees his friend and teammate Cruz (Rick) struggling as he tries desperately to get back on the team by doing the exercises Coach Carter (Samuel Jackson) asked him to complete by a certain deadline. Lyle says, “You said we’re a team. One person struggles, we all struggle. One person triumphs, we all triumph.”.

Because everything in life is difficult, I believe and trust that a simple gesture and truthful words can change our lives. He showed not only to the players, but also to Cruz, that one needs the other. Everyone can win together and achieve their goals. He gave a great lesson in morality. In real life, sometimes we need a real friend to show us that sometimes we cannot do things alone. We have to trust, and trust is not given, this is won.

Favorite Upcoming Channing Tatum Movie and Why?:

My favorite upcoming movie is ‘Battle In Seattle‘. This is a movie that leaves me with great expectations, because it features a real-life story. Lately, Chan’s movies are more and more significant. I’m sure it will give an accurate account of the events, plus the character is very different for Chan and will show his versatility. The story of the film is very good, and he is acting as a police officer which is something that, for me in particular, I was hoping for. I’m counting down the days until I can see the film in Brazil!!!!!!

Have you ever met Channing?:

Unfortunately not. If I met him, I would be a very happy fan, because I admire him so much. He is a beauty to the world, literally speaking in every way. I know that if I did meet him, I would be speechless. Unfortunately, I do not know how to speak English, but I know that the one word I can say is “thank you”.

Why are you a Fabulous Channing Tatum Fan?:

Well, this is a response that requires much attention. I imagine that we all consider ourselves Chan’s #1 fan in our own way. He’s given us the opportunity to have wonderful moments. His charisma is unmatched. He is not only beautiful outside and inside, but he is also respectful and treats his fans with so much care. Even though I don’t speak English and have to learn about him and his films through the help of a translator, I consider myself a big fan.

Why does Channing Tatum Unwrapped think that this fan belongs in the Fab Fan Spotlight?

Adriane has been reading CTU for quite a while now, and incredibly, has not let the fact that she does not know English very well get in the way of her getting involved in the site. I’ve always been impressed at how she goes all out for the various projects we have had at CTU. You can take a look at her elaborate and impressive Christmas present submission on the right as one example. I was also very impressed by Adriane’s thoughtful answers to the Fab Fan questions above, and hopefully I did not butcher them too much as I tried to compensate for the translator that can sometimes misinterpret American vernacular. Most importantly, anyone who takes the time to translate the site and their submissions to CTU is definitely going above and beyond the call of duty as a fan as far as I’m concerned, and it’s one of the many reasons why Adriane deserves this Fab Fan Spotlight.

ACDC Sends A Message to the M&M Cru…”Better Get More Ice Cream”

A few weeks ago, Miley Cyrus and Mandy Jiroux of the M&M Cru released their latest entry in the extremely popular dance battle started by ACDC last April.

Jon M. Chu and Adam Sevani are really getting good at this taunting thing, so we have another teaser video from ACDC that shows the M&M Cru (which includes Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan) a taste of what they have to look forward to in the yet-to-be announced live battle between the two talented dance crews.

I know we all can’t wait to see the live battle, and I’m still hopeful that it’ll all go down on an episode on MTV’s show America’s Best Dance Crew (aka ABDC). Even if that doesn’t happen, I’m sure we’ll all be tuning in, because I hear that a TV deal is in the works.

As if this whole thing hasn’t been historical enough, the BIGGEST online dance battle in history is heading to prime time so the two crews can settle this beef once and for all. As Jon says, more details to come.

In the meantime, I’ll share some new information I’ve learned about the battle both in front of and behind the scenes…

IN THE PRESS: M&M vs. ACDC Dance Battle Featured in US Weekly Magazine

The famous YouTube dance battle between the M&M CRU and ACDC has been covered (and even spoofed) by countless entertainment news outlets in the short time that’s it’s been going on. From Perez Hilton to Access Hollywood to E! television to MTV News, everyone is talking about the phenomena that has taken the world by storm.

Like many entertainment news outlets, Us Weekly Magazine recently posted an article on their website highlighting the latest video from the M&M Cru. They also decided to put the article you see above in the June 30, 2008 issue of their popular magazine.

It talks about the web’s biggest hits (as far as online video is concerned). All of the videos in the dance battle have gotten an astounding number of views on YouTube in a very short period of time (more than 10 million to be exact).

New Behind-the-Scenes Dance Battle Videos

M&M Cru’s Mandy Jiroux called into Ryan Seacrest’s popular L.A. radio show at 102.7 KIIS FM to talk about the dance battle the day after the last video release and below you can listen to her interview. Enjoy!

On the ACDC front…In addition to being invited to dance at Ellen DeGeneres’ birthday party, they were also recently invited to perform at Youtube’s corporate headquarters for the Discover YouTube Event in San Bruno, California. Below, you can check out some behind the scenes footage from their trip and performance. BOOM!

How the M&M Cru Scored Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan

Fans have been a bit baffled ever since we learned that Channing Tatum and his girlfriend, Jenna Dewan, were members of the M&M Cru instead of the obvious choice of ACDC. I can now say that there’s an extremely good reason for how that happened, and it’s not as scandalous as people have assumed (there was no kidnapping involved).

Cole Walliser (the director of all of the M&M Cru videos) told me that he’s really good friends with Chan and Jenna. Since I’m pretty sure they knew Cole before they ever met Jon, aligning themselves with the M&M Cru actually makes a lot of sense.

I have to say that I was relieved when Cole told me this, because I was thinking of doing a dance battle video myself and now I know just who to ask. ;-D

In addition to that bit of inside scoop, Cole also said that there may just be some video outtakes of Chan and Jenna in Prague. I can’t make any promises, but I’ll see if we can get ahold of some of them to share with you all.

FIRST LOOK: New ‘G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra’ Posters Featuring Channing Tatum, Sienna Miller, and Ray Park

Thanks to the Netherlands movie site Film1.nl we now have a first look at an awesome new ‘G.I. Joe‘ poster that features Channing Tatum in his role as Duke Hauser.

They took a photo of the poster at the Cinema EXPO International in Amsterdam today. It’s a conference where people in the film industry can preview important upcoming cinema releases for the European market.

More importantly, the poster also reveals for the first time the full title of the movie, which is (drumroll please)…

For those who don’t know, ‘G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra‘ revolves around a European-based military unit known as Global Integrated Joint Operating Entity (G.I.J.O.E.), which is a hi-tech, international force of special operatives that takes on an evil organization led by a notorious arms dealer.

In addition to Channing, the Stephen Sommers-directed film also stars Dennis Quaid, Sienna Miller, Ray Park, Rachel Nichols, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Said Taghmaoui, Marlon Wayans, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Arnold Vosloo and Christopher Eccleston and just wrapped filming in Prague right before Father’s Day.

NEWS FLASH: Channing Tatum’s ‘Step Up 2: The Streets’ Launches New Site and Celebrates DVD Release at Canadian Hip Hop Championships

In case you haven’t been to the site lately, I wanted to let everyone know that Channing Tatum’s extremely popular dance hit ‘Step Up 2: The Streets‘ recently redesigned their official site to let fans know about the July 15, 2008 highly-anticipated release of the film on DVD and Blu-ray Hi-def.

As a part of the redesign, they also added a new events section to the official site. We learn that the film is celebrating the release of the ‘Step Up 2: The Streets‘ DVD and Blu-ray Hi-def today and tomorrow at the 2008 Canadian Hip Hop Championships in Montreal, Canada.

The event is holding the preliminaries for the contest tonight, and the finals will be tomorrow (Sunday, June 22nd) at 7:30pm at the Université du Québec à Montréal.

The winner of the contest will represent Canada at the 2008 World Hip Hip Championships on July 30 - August 3rd at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. PEOPLE Magazine’s annual Hottest Bachelors issue hits newsstands tomorrow. We’ll know if Channing Tatum made this year’s magazine then, but in the mean time, PEOPLE has featured him and his ‘A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints‘ co-star Shia Labeouf on their website in a “Whom would you date?” face-off between the two rising stars. I’m not even going to insult you all and make you answer this one.

NEWS FLASH: Channing Tatum’s ‘G.I. Joe’ Holds Wrap Party at Prague’s Dancing House

Since Channing Tatum mentioned in the video he sent us recently that his movie ‘G.I. Joe‘ would be done filming very soon in the Czech Republic city of Prague, a CTU reader asked me today if he was back home yet, and the answer to that is YES!!!

After being gone for approximately five weeks to film his Pretty Boy Floyd role in Johnny Depp’s ‘Public Enemies‘ in Madison, Wisconsin and his Duke Hauser role in ‘G.I. Joe‘ in Prague, Channing Tatum was spotted in California arriving at Los Angeles Airport this past Saturday (June 14, 2008) and is finally back home. Channing wasn’t able to answer any questions regarding his upcoming movie ‘G.I. Joe‘ for the inquiring reporters. He just said “It is Top Secret,” and that he enjoyed working on the film.

When they asked if he was flattered by the fact that many people are comparing him to Brad Pitt, Channing shyly told reporters that Brad was “Way Bigger than Me, way Bigger”. And my reply to that is…Just give it time Mr. Tatum. Just give it time. (Thanks Cal for the scoop!)

We also have some details on where Channing was right before he headed back home…

The extremely interesting building you see on this post is the famed Prague Dancing House. What does that have to do with Channing Tatum? Well, the deck of the Dancing House recently played host to the ‘G.I. Joe‘ film production wrap party.

DJ THC Electra posted on his music blog today that the film had an “all night blow out bonanza” where he, DJ Siroko, and DJ House C played from 8pm to 5am and everyone had a blast.

Here is what Wikipedia has to say about the famous location:

“The Dancing House (Czech: Tančící dům) is the nickname given to an office building in downtown Prague. It was designed by Croatian-born Czech architect Vlado Milunić in co-operation with Canadian architect Frank Gehry on a vacant riverfront plot (where the previous building had been destroyed during the Bombing of Prague in 1945). The construction started in 1994 and was finished in 1996.

The very non-traditional design was controversial at the time. Czech president Václav Havel, who lived for decades next to the site, had supported it, hoping that the building would become a center of cultural activity.

Originally named Fred and Ginger (after Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers - the house vaguely resembles a pair of dancers) the house stands out among the Neo-Baroque, Neo-Gothic and Art Nouveau buildings for which Prague is famous.

Vote for Channing Tatum, ‘Step Up 2: The Streets’, and ‘Stop-Loss’ at 2008 Teen Choice Awards!!!

It’s that time again my fellow Channaholics!!! They just announced the 2008 Teen Choice Awards nominees this morning, and Channing Tatum, Ryan Phillippe, Briana Evigan, ‘Step Up 2: The Streets‘, and ‘Stop-Loss‘ have all been nominated for awards this year.

Channing’s on a roll…This past week he was voted the #3 Hottest Young Actor by The Movie Fanatic’s readers. Just a few months ago all of Chan’s fabulous fans here at CTU helped him win the coveted Hottest Man Alive designation, and last year we helped Channing, Jenna Dewan, and their dance hit ‘Step Up’ win a 2007 Teen Choice Award for Choice Movie Dance, and Chan even sent us all a personal thank you message for all of our hard work.

Now, we all need to band together once again to help Channing and his co-stars win their categories for this year’s awards.

The Show

M&M Cru with a U leader and teen sensation Miley Cyrus is set to host the awards show which is scheduled to air all around the world Monday, Aug. 4 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. The 10th annual special will celebrate the hottest teen icons in film, television, music, comedy, sports and fashion.

The Voting

When you vote, you can make only one choice per category, per day, per email address, but you can vote EVERY DAY, so make sure to do so. ;-D Also, they do not require you to vote for every category for your vote to count, and all of Channing’s categories are luckily on the first page of voting.

So as you can see, there’s a bit of a dilemma here. Channing is going against friend and ‘Stop-Loss‘ co-star Ryan Phillippe, and his two movies ‘Step Up 2‘ and ‘Stop-Loss‘ are competing against each other too. You all can obviously vote however you choose, but I personally would have to go with Chan and Briana on this one, and then might split my votes between ‘Step Up 2‘ and ‘Stop-Loss‘.

The Mission

Here’s you’re mission if you choose to accept it…Starting today, fans can vote for their favorite Teen Choice 2008 nominees at www.teenchoiceawards.com. Winners of the coveted surfboard awards will be announced during the two-hour celebration broadcast from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, CA.

I’ve seen you all do it before, so I’m confident that we can work together to make sure Channing runs away with all of his categories. I can already see him standing up on that stage thanking all of his fans here at CTU.
